I donated my well maintained 2008 BMW 535i to Kars4kids earlier this month - record# 3313475 (see pic) and the eligible gift amount was only $1,000. I checked with a second and car dealer just before I donated my car and they said my car worth around $5,000, and they were willing to pay me $2,500 in cash. I thought my donation got severely ripped off. If I knew that my car would be so much under-valued, I'd rather sell my car to a dealer and donate the cash to another charity organization.
