Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I recently received a damaged fireplace from them, and to my disbelief, they actually expected me to foot the bill for the repairs. I reached out to them for replacement parts a whopping three months ago, and yet here I am, still stuck with a damaged fireplace. While I must admit that their hardware is of good quality, their lackluster customer service completely overshadows any positives.

I recently bought a Mendota gas fireplace from Home and Hearth in *** on 8/20. The installation took place on 12/12, and initially, the fireplace worked perfectly. However, in February 2022, it suddenly stopped functioning. After contacting the company, I was informed that a chip was needed for the fireplace, and they assured me that it would be ordered and installed promptly. Unfortunately, despite numerous follow-up calls, the chip has yet to be installed, and I have been informed that it is currently unavailable. This means that the fireplace, which cost me a total of $7153.09, only worked for three months. Despite my persistent efforts, I have not been provided with a specific date for when the chip will be available. In my opinion, both the manufacturer and the merchant have a responsibility to either repair the fireplace or provide a replacement.

I am thrilled to say that I currently have two Mendota fireplaces in my home, and I cannot express enough how much I believe they are the best. One of them has required no maintenance at all, while the other had a few issues right from the start. However, thanks to the incredible assistance of their technicians, the problems were promptly resolved. Since then, both fireplaces have provided us with countless hours of reliable zone heat and pure enjoyment. The team at Mendota is truly a pleasure to work with, and they genuinely stand behind their product.
