The work down by the Jacuzzi employees was excellent. But Jacuzzi says they do not do the glasswork themselves, they had that as a separate item but I had to use their subcontractor. So they had me sign the papers with the exact amount of the glasswork to be filled in later. I will never sign to have work done in this manner again. One business will have to own end to end, and give me the full price before I sign. The glass owner was an unlikeable person who looked at poorly cut rubber padding and told me to get a blade and cut it myself. He lacked class and courtesy.
Recommendation: shop around, get multiple estimates
It sounds like the remodel started off on the right foot, which makes the experience with the subcontractor even more disappointing. Thanks for pointing out how the process worked, especially the pricing and responsibility between companies. Your advice to get multiple estimates and make sure everything is finalized before signing is something future customers will likely appreciate. It may also help to ask who will actually be performing each part of the job before signing, so there are no surprises later.
