I’m extremely disappointed with how LinkedIn treated my case.
My account (associated with [protected]@gmail.com) was restricted, and I tried everything to prove my identity and resolve the issue:
I submitted my real government ID
I attempted verification through Persona multiple times
I offered to join a live webcam call to prove I’m real
I contacted LinkedIn via X (Twitter)
I filled out the official support forms on their website
I even created a GitHub issue explaining my situation
Despite all that, I received nothing but copy-paste responses and a final rejection without explanation. I was never told what rule I allegedly broke, and I never got the chance to be heard or seen as a human being.
As a Brazilian developer, I can’t help but feel that LinkedIn doesn’t treat Latin American users with the same level of attention or care. If I were in the U.S. or Europe, would this have happened the same way?
LinkedIn promotes itself as a platform for professionals — but when someone vulnerable, unemployed, and seeking opportunity asks for help, they are silenced.
I trusted LinkedIn. Now I feel erased.
Recommendation: If you’re from outside the US or Europe, be careful. You may not receive fair support.
