We have always used TurboTax to process our taxes and we you never had an issue. However, when he processed our 2022 return, TurboTax showed that I was going to get a huge refund ($15000) I did think it was odd, but I trusted that Turbo Tax had always been reliable and made a mental note about this. Fast forward to 2024, in February I started getting letters from the IRS. Subsequent correspondence received stated that I there was a discrepancy in our filing of 2022, specifically that I had not claimed a lump sum that I requested from my retirement. Now, I don't know if it was an honest oversight or if it was a glitch with TurboTax because in our printed paperwork from 2022 income tax it does show that the lump sum is in there and in the paperwork for 2022, the 1099R for the lump sum is there. I don't know how it happened, but apparently when we e-filed, the lump sum was not included. Now IRS is charging me $8,000 and the are threatening to seize my property. No one at Intuit could or would help!
