InterNations Scammers and Bots

Every person on this website is an international thief and scam artist. This should be ground zero for the FBI as these are all operating in the open. Be careful with your information and any links that are sent. MetaMask is a crypot wallet that every person on this site will talk about. They will start a conversation and then lead to how they have developed this way to make money. Don't be fooled these people are not your friends and you WILL LOOSE all of your money.

Claimed loss: Billions each year

Desired outcome: Shut down all sites where international scammers are operating.

InterNations Alvatroz subscription cancellation

I subscribed on 05/16/23 and after 1 week I didn't like the application that nothing else is a match between people. I asked for the cancellation in writing to the Internations email on 05/26/23. As they did not respond, I changed the signature on my card and sent another email on 05/31/23 they said i was out of date. The Albatross subscription becomes fraud for the subscriber who wants to opt out.

InterNations Membership / account deactivated

My account has been suddenly deactivated without any information or reason given. I have renewed my membership in December 2022. I sent several emails, but without getting a reply. I attend only few events so far and there was never any problem. If I don’t get a reasonable reply soon, I will have to take legal action.

Taylor S. Zurich Switzerland.

Desired outcome: Activate account or send a refund

Is InterNations legit?

Our verdict: InterNations's legitimacy, as determined by Complaints Board, strikes a balance between trust and caution. InterNations They threatened to pay membership renewal that I did not want, or threaten collection agency:

Email sent to InterNations:

To whom It May Concern,

I am customer number U-XXXX277-USD, and I am writing in reference to INV0XXXX901:

I find it particularly insulting that you are threatening to sell to a collection agency, an outstanding annual renewal amount, which I have not asked for. I further note that you have not sent to me or included an offer or option to cancel my membership within my rights to accept and pay, or refuse your services. I also note that I have never utilized the services that I have paid for.

Consequently, I hereby direct you to close my account with you and do NOT attempt to charge me directly or indirectly as you have not provided me with due notice or options to cancel with any notice including this latest one which also, incidentally included your threat.

If you decide to refer my case to a collection agency, I may be forced to: 1. Counter sue for the amount and any and all damages rendered, including damages associated with credit agencies, etc caused by you; 2, Report you to the US Better Business Bureau, the Consumer Protection Bureau and/or other authorities in the US; and/or 3. Take similar steps as mentioned in item 2 in your parent’s jurisdiction, the Federal Republic of Germany.

Finally, you will note from your records, as I have already mentioned that I have not utilized your services at all in the years I paid for membership. This makes your threat without option to cancel all the more insulting, unethical and inappropriate and potentially illegal within the United States and/or Germany.

In short, I request you to cancel my membership as well as your claim, and do not sell your claim to a collection agency. I expect a response out of professional courtesy as to your course of action in this matter.

Should you wish to discuss this, please contact me.

This is not seem to be the Germany or the US I know; both countries and cultures where I was raised and taught what was right and appropriate. Further, this treatment appears to be extremely counter to the mission and services that you sell.

Extremely disappointed, and now angry, customer.

XXXXXXX

Desired outcome: Cancel my membership, do not send to collection agency and do not change me.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

InterNations They charge you without my knowledge and my consent. A very unethical company.

Do not sign up with internations! Do not give them your credit card details. A very unethical company.

I have downgraded and cancelled the annual renewal services for albatross membership through the internations app, but I have still been charged for renewal without my knowledge, my consent and totoally against my will. I explained the situations repeatedly to their customer support team and request for refund as it is the issue with internations app and I do not wish to continue with the membership. Internations app is bad and often crashes and do not record cancellation and downgrading correctly.

The customer support team wouldn't listen to me, refused to refund me and blamed me for not sending them the error messages about app issue earlier. Unpleasant, unhelpful and unreasonable customer services. Total waste of my time and effort. Would not recommend this to anyone.

InterNations Greedy and unethical scam company that gets aggressive if their users do not want to remain albatross members

I had an Albatross membership that was auto-renewed about 2 months ago - during a world pandemic and lock-down when there were no real-life events organized at all. (Earlier I attended a couple of events - the last one in December, so I cannot say I was very active.)
They could not charge my credit card and therefore started to harass me for the membership subscription fee. I contacted them right after receiving the first email about the failed transaction for auto-renewal (otherwise I would probably have not noticed immediately that my money has gone to their pockets). The communication with their Support Team clearly showed how much consideration and empathy they have for their users (hint: 0).

The membership that I was able to use since the coronavirus has been spreading corresponded only to Basic membership, therefore as they failed to provide any services that match the Albatross membership, they could've simply admitted it and could have downgraded me to Basic membership - like I requested their Support Team multiple times to do so, in a friendly way. They cannot sell any value with Albatross membership during a world pandemic as their offer was not designed for the online world. Charging users for Albatross membership was completely unwanted and inappropriate.

Instead of understanding and accepting my request, they insisted on me paying the outstanding balance so that I become able to downgrade. Yes, I could buy a downgrade option for many EURs - for a 1-year subscription fee! What an impertinence!
Their sneaking idea is to hide the "downgrade" button as well as the "profile deletion" function from the user menu in order to put pressure on the user to settle the balance. They lied that they cannot downgrade me and cannot cancel or revert the renewal of my membership. If that's true, be especially careful when giving your sensitive data for a company that does not have a competent User Administrator in charge and make sure to request the deletion of your data from their database!

They blocked access to my profile and messages after a couple of payment reminders and started to threaten me and told me that they reserve the right to escalate this matter further to a debt collection agency, which may result in additional costs for me. What a ridiculous and shameless move it was from them! And they kept repeating that I should have seen the auto-renewal date on their web page and on my older invoices and in their Terms and Conditions. Seriously, who on earth visits web pages in 2020 regularly just to read old invoices and Terms and Conditions?!
They are able to spam you with a lot of newsletters, but they don't bother sending a single notification email before the auto-renewal is due. If they succeed with charging your credit card, they don't inform you in email either. This is pure meanness.
I learned after some googling that they have been applying this practice to hundreds and thousands of their users for years without any consequences. It's outrageous to see how many people they stole from or threatened already.

If you start to complain about their unethical practice on their social media accounts, be prepared that they will be quick to suppress your voice and block you.
DO NOT PAY them, or do request a refund from your bank if they already charged you. Spread the word about this scam and discourage your friends from signing up there.

InterNations payment policy and customer service

They have manipulative payment practices. That customer service representative Jasmine refused to give me the contact to make a complaint regarding their policy and then told me she would ignore any further communication! Here is a direct quote from her email (and attached in a screen shot) after I asked to be referred to make a formal complaint: "At this point, we see no reason to escalate this matter further and consider this case closed.

We will not be replying to any of your further requests regarding this matter." This is completely unacceptable practice to refuse to offer a paying customer an avenue to make a complaint. What's more is they use an auto renewal system that's impossible to figure out how to cancel on your own which automatically signs you up for auto renewal with the inability to set it to manual. Terrible customer service in general. Won't offer any reprieve considering the terrible system, even when you never even log into the site - probably because they would not have any income without making it so complicated for people, essentially manipulating them out of their money.

If you read their reviews you see this echoed and yet they have done absolutely nothing to make their service better and won't even allow me the avenue to have a voice and actually make a complaint.

I do not recommend this organization at all - it's horrible business practice and a terrible way to relate to people in general. They left me no option except to publicly complain.

InterNations The kicked me out of their platform where I was a blogger for no reason

Dear Sir,

I am an American citizen with German residency permit . I got membership in a Munich based German website, InterNations and was writing blogs about life in NYC and world . Yesterday they cancelled my membership arbitrarily stating that my membership profile is fake. That is not true because I secured their membership from their NYC chapter with my one and only name, Sury Mukherjee, my place of residence and my genuine e mail address. What is my legal right and recourse to get justice. I detail below their action and my reply to them.

Your profile may have been deactivated due to a breach of our InterNations Policies. Possible reasons might include the fact that:
You have created a fake profile or one lacking in seriousness
You have created the same profile twice
You have created an anonymous profile
You have used the InterNations platform for spamming other members
You have breached the InterNations Forum or Group Guidelines
Third parties have had access to your profile
Please contact us by sending an email to [protected]@internations.org.

My reply to them,

Sir,
Why have you disabled my account . this is not a fake profile. All the information I gave like my name place of residence and my my e mail address is genuine and I will not allow you to get away and will use all my legal recourse in Germany unless you restore my profile. You should know better not to play games of unfairness with an American citizen who has German residency which I mentioned in my membership application to your NYC chapter.

See you in court.

Sury Mukherjee
