A haven for terrible poetry and poor site management
I was a member for 3 years. Since you are able to "follow" your favorite fellow-poets, I mostly read their work and not all the other poorly conceived and poorly written offerings. As far as I am concerned, everyone is free to write whatever they please and I am free to ignore it. That is, until the site owner/manager began making strange and illogical comments on my work. Such as telling me if I wanted to screw up by using the same words in my title as I had in the first line of my poem, well that was on me. His words. Then when someone began making random disgusting sexual comments to me personnally (I do not write poems with sexual comment or follow anyone who does), I complained and asked the site manager to do something about it. He responded that he thought the sexual suggestions were "extremely nice." And he wasn't going to address the matter further. So I finally deleted my account and they lost my monthly dues and my patronage in general. It was very disheartening. I don't think it is a bad place to post my poetry. I have made a couple of friends there. But the site manager ruins it.
Recommendation: Eventually the ugly underside will surface -- don't join.
If you love good poetry and are sick of trolls and bullies, this is the place to be
I came to AllPoetry in 2016 after being bullied and manipulated off of two popular sites by the same group of trolls and manipulators. The owner, Kevin, is fair minded, attentive to details and listens to the issues put before him with a firm but amicable hand. He does stay very busy, but that is to be expected from the largest and most popular poetry site in the world. If you have a genuine issue, he will respond to you, or... one of his many highly competent moderators will answer your questions in a relatively short time... they do NOT tolerate bullying, trolling or spamming. And they address issues of that nature very efficiently. It is a generally friendly community, with many fun diversions, such as contests, groups, schools and an active support group. While it is not perfect ( i don't particularly like the autorank system for its 'mechanical' aspects) i find this to be the friendliest, most user friendly, compassionate and effective poetry venue available on the internet. If you are willing to put in the time, you will earn amazing personal satisfactions from the process... by all means, check it out!
It's a Fine and Fun Place
I must say that I am rather shocked at some of the outrageous criticism I see here. Allpoetry is a great place to post your poetry and to receive comments. It is, in fact, a great deal of fun. Are there jerks as members? Yes, there are some, guess what, just like real life! There are also wonderful, kind and helpful folks as well, guess what, just like real life. Also, surprise, surprise, there is NO such thing as a perfect web site for poetry. And, surprise, surprise, there is NOTHING perfect in this life. Allpoetry is fine and fun. I have been a member for close to 10 years. I've had occasional, although rare problems with people, however, the ability to "ignore" and "block" them solves most issues. Yes, I have found plagiarism on the site, though rarely?it is never condoned. I would contact the poet and tell him/her that I knew they did not write that poem. If they refused to removed it I would contact the folks at AP and the offender would be removed from Allpoetry. So it IS an excellent site, not perfect, but if you are looking for perfection you are NOT going to find it on this side of death. I would encourage anyone to join the site. It is, indeed, fun.
I have learned so much because of All Poetry!
I have learned how to write a real haiku which is more than the 7-5-7 rule most people use. I have learned how to write poetry really. I have discovered wonderful poets like Hillaire Belloc and Wilfred Owens and so many more. They have a wonderful classical poet section with biographies and then all their poems. I have many friends on All Poetry, and I have been there 11 years now, and I am still in awe of some of the really great poetry written there. Kevin, the owner of the site, takes personal interest in helping people. Once in awhile you run into someone nasty but that's not the sites fault. A lot of if not most bad reviews come from people who are miffed they haven't won in a contest but I was there for four or five years before I did. If you look at a contest as a stimulus for your creativity when your muse is asleep and just enjoy it, it is much more able to develop your writing style. There is an ability to block someone (or follow) which I have only used 3 times in 11 years. No one has asked me to do this review, I just ran into it this morning on a new browser I am trying. They really do have high standards there and no one would ask someone to post a good review.
Allpoetry is everything I expected
I ran into this site by accident so I am neutral either way, but...
I can tell you by experience that these bad reviews seem to be just a personal bandeta against Kevin and the website.
Like this "pay to post"... I've never had to pay a thing to post anything. Yes, you can get a membership starting at $2 a month (I think) that give you extra fonts and things, but to post a regular poem has never cost me a thing.
Yes, you get extra perks if you pay but isn't that the case with any other site? How else are the proprietors supposed to pay for their time, server cost, maintenance, and so on? I think what he offers in return for a paid membership is well worth the money and the cost is nothing outrageous.
Furthermore, having gone to several websites where you can post poems, I can tell you that this is the one place where I've always gotten feedback on every post I have completed. I guess the one main negative for me would be the fact that that if you don't pay for a membership then you have to forcefully review two poems from your peers every time you post a new poem. The site is outdated a little bit and could use an overhaul, but that doesn't really bother me. And that's about it.:-)
Best thing I joined this year! Love it!
Several months ago, I joined All Poetry. Since joining, I have thoroughly enjoyed nearly every moment. Of course, there have been a couple times where I felt minor frustration during site upgrades, but once adjusted to it, the upgrades have improved the experience.
The people on the site, for the most part are really amazing. If you take the time to read some of the poets work you would be pleasantly surprised to say the least.
Although, as with any site, their are a few 'bad apples' it seems to me that Kevin cares what is going on and does his best to operate a 'safe place' to express yourself.
I do believe that if you don't have anything nice to say (or at least, constructive) then maybe you should just keep your mouth shut and move on; obviously, not everyone agrees with the theory.
I have learned so much, and feel that I have grown as a poet in the months since I joined. All Poetry offer great courses as well as a variety of contests... You can join groups and make new friends... I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who needs a creative outlet. ***I added this because I saw a post below that claims Kevin, the owner of All Poetry is bribing people to come on here and give a positive review. That is absolutely NOT true. My review is my own thoughts and words and I received NOTHING for posting it. It is a shame that so many trouble makers are trying to ruin the reputation of a fine place to write poetry. I could not just ignore the comment
I've been a member of the site since June 2004
I've been a member of the site since June 2004. Yes, there have been some issues overtime, some dealing with upgrades, but if you submit a ticket properly, the moderators and/or the site owner fixes the problem. Yes, there are some "wannabes" and "bashers" on there who enjoy causing trouble and who have nothing to offer but drama. There are also a great many VERY talented people who are there to share their poetry and interact in a positive manner. I've found that in most situations, you get what you give. I've never been "ripped off", but I did have a problem with a stalker that just wouldn't behave himself in a decent manner and ultimately, he was banned. I'd say most of the negative remarks came from people who didn't venture beyond their own circle of friends. I have told a lot of people about the site over the years. If you are serious about improving your writing and enjoying the creations of many other talented people, this is still the best website for doing so. There's been a lot more emphasis lately on being a poetic community and a social site, but no one forces you to participate. I have a lengthy list of very good writers that I constantly refer new members to, as they are the people I read the most for my own inspiration. They are all REAL people with a lot to offer, but yes, just like every other site, there are a few bad apples. The site has an "ignore" feature that keeps troublemakers off of your pages. I met my husband through this site - although he is no longer active on AP, we both post on Blogspot and have other venues in which to share our creativity with others. As the saying goes, you can't please all of the people all of the time - yet this site is not the big, bad wolf that some have insinuated with their remarks. If you are a negative person, you're guaranteed to have nothing but negative experiences no matter where you go.
Satan himself couldn't have done it better
Amazingly pernicious social media site disguised a poetry critiquing center. If taken seriously, it can be an informative tool for writing improvement, and a perfect window into the minds of some of the craziest A-holes on earth, which is valuable information to a writer so long as you don't buy into their crap. While the contests feel like they are more about popularity than quality, they can at least be a tool to gage what can work subjectively. The autorank algorithm is good for people who are incredibly bad at poetry because it convinces them they are losers, or turns them into lost rebels. It openly tells new users NOT to rhyme, which is horribly discouraging for all of the right monetary reasons: no ones gives a crap about rhyming, or anything musically vital to language because most readers are rhythmless, tone deaf simpletons anyway. If you are honest with yourself, you can commit to the chore of weeding through who understands what or who is actually professional and use them to your advantage, it's all valuable information to exploit.
It is an addictive nightmare for egotistical escapists and bipolar schizophrenics alike. Your pathetic life will collapse around you as you feebly try to keep up with comments, notifications, and contest results while obsessively improving writing styles, molding you into a resentful cynic who likes to flirt with black widows. You'll spend every other day taking mental dumps, whittling chunks of mental cow pie for hours to tediously craft amateur poems about revenge and suicide. You'll crave square's of toilet paper while drowning in this site's untreated sewage. Each of the million other user's fecal matter will burn like hydrochloric acid in your blood to the point where you are convinced mediocrity is in your DNA.
Allpoetry recklessly preys upon fools who think they have a good shot at writing good from the get-go, like Gertie the Dinosaur innocently swallowing trees with colonies of squirrels still trapped inside. It is a sadistic masterpiece of 21st Century social media, unmatched in the writing world. Would definitely recommend.

Not Valid for Serious Poets
The man who started this site states his preference as "brevity" which produces some of the most inane tripe I have ever read and the fight for kudos, all very false and corrupted by nepotism and rating bait. He states his idol as ted Kooser- yes a poet laureate but also writes for a non literary public. It is my personal belief that this only serves to let him get away with reading very very little petry but posing as a guru. I have never seen a decent critique from him, my last? For a serious, philosophical poem, was "fun write!" then a grammar suggestion that was, ironically, wrong.
I paid for am lifetime membership and want my money back. This is not a serious or even valid site, beware. The owner writes tripe as both his poetry and reviews

My poem:
An unexpected pleasure fell tonight
Like sudden song of birds just out of sight.
It hummed all through my body like a bliss,
A quickening, tender touch of sacredness.
I look for traces in pretending skies
That hides the mystery from mortal eyes.

This site should be called ''AllPornography'' as it has many adult writes from which young poets are not protected.

More popularity contest than poetry site.
Jan 26,2020 09:54 PM 979 Views
Pro's: The site is a good place to catalog your poetry, so it doesn't get lost if your computer crashes. There are some good poets on there, but you have to search for them. Basic membership is free.
Cons: Most members are rank amateurs with little to no knowledge of poetic elements/forms/devices.
Contests are a joke as they are most often run by these jackleg amateurs, who most often award their friends and followers over good poetry.
The site does little to educate new poets on how to write. The site owner insists that his views on poetry are the only ones to live by.
The site uses an algorithm to rank poetry, purposely ensuring that rhyming poems don't often rate highly.
Some members spread misinformation on poetry forms and techniques, which goes uncorrected. "OriginalsbyTerry" is the ring leader for spreading misinformation, which causes other new poets to blindly follow her lead.
The site has a few bullies who are allowed to troll unchecked.
There are too few moderators(administrators) on staff. Several have quit due to disagreements with the owner on how the site is run(favoritism, inconsistent rule enforcement, etc.).
The site help features are too difficult to find.
Negative reviews written on the site are met with threats from administrators and bans if continued.
Feedback on how to better the site is normally ignored.
Feedback on a member's poetry is based on the size of his/her friends list and not the quality of his/her work.

The owner and moderators of this site treat plagiarism as a game, laughing it off most of the time or simply having the member remove it.

Plagiarism is NOT taken seriously on the site, either by members or by AP staff.

Ap is just one stop scam site
Jun 24,2018 02:07 PM 1765 Views
The poetry is just an excuse to hide the forceful advertising and the pay to post policies integrated and pushed by the owner of the site. In more than one occasion I had to stop payments from my credit card directed from AP and the only justification from the owner was "you can cancel anytime".
It's a shame how this travesty still goes on. If you are serious about poetry look further

This is such a stupid website! The members are scammed as the owner violates the copyrights of authors publishing online and uses demeaning ways against the members of the site. Points are NOT worth ANYTHING, but they would actually say that memberships would cost MONEY! They do NOT even deserve that one star out of five: it's ZERO stars out of five!

Not worth the frustration

Pro's: You can catalog your work online and get feedback from amateur poets(though typically not much). You can find some good poetry there, but you have to look for it. There is a classic section that posts work from famous poets.
Cons: Computerized ranking system that uses an algorithm to rate a poem's quality, rigged contests, bullying, extremely poor feedback, complaints aren't answered in a timely manner
(and they're usually brushed off), rampant plagiarism.

All those who advertise about allpoetry are the owner's family
A Very Sinister Site
Let's begin by saying that, if given the chance, I would be giving a minus star rating of about one million, which I hope sets the tone here and encourages the viewer to read on, in order to prevent them from making one very big mistake - joining All Poetry at all.
This is not my first review about All Poetry and how sinister it is and I second, third and fourth what so many others have said in their negative reviews on this review site and others that the problems are largely festering there due to management, rather than a problem with users of the site which you would have to deal with anywhere these days. And since it is the site management who runs the show, albeit it very badly in this case, you have no choice but to shut up or be brave and speak out, as I am, have, and will. My first review said much the same as I am going to say here - but this one will be longer and worse as there is more to share. My reason for deleting the previous one? To give the site one last chance, which was my mistake.
Unfortunately, when you are dealing with a site like All Poetry where, to be someone who speaks out makes you something of a loose cannon and to be feared by the toxic site manager, Kevin, it becomes a little like a Mafia situation where, those who comply and say 'yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir' AND pay for as many goodies on the site as possible, get away with anything. Whilst those who try to protect others from being plagiarised by a plagiarist who is still on the site to this day with at least one profile (let's consider here that there is no limit to how many accounts any troll or plagiarist can have) get pushed out because this is attention that Kevin just doesn't want - a site with more and more plagiarists every week, trolls coming out of the woodwork and, if you dare for one second to stand up yourself as I did when told some pretty mean things which needed a response to, you are not protected and in fact are deemed the problem! It is laughable really, as the site states that it takes these things very seriously but they only talk the talk, they do not walk the walk.
I first joined AP almost three years ago and very quickly became aware of several members just waiting for newbies to try and start romantic liaisons with or start to troll, but I enjoyed the poetry functions of the site; even though there is almost daily pressure to buy this, that or the other, and so I stuck with it. In the almost three years that I have been there (on and off because it really is a place you need a break from every now and then, such is the level of toxicity, and many leave and never return) I have experienced far more than my fair share of trolling, bullying, multiple identity of one user creating many accounts to troll and write evil poems, 39 of my poems plagiarised by another AP user and the site not being supportive of in any way whatsoever. All this with only one or two full time moderators, one of whom Kevin needs to have a little word with, as she let the cat out of the bag to me sometime ago that she reads other people's messages and like to know what is going on there! That being said I feel sorry for the moderators because they are trying their very best to manage what has become a large site (although who can say how many have a whole load of different profiles; some active, some not) with so many issues and not enough support for them or for the users, many of whom - like myself - had a gold membership.
To come back to the plagiarism of 39 of my poems, this was going on for a period of a year and a half where an AP member was taking poems of mine on a regular basis and placing them, as his own and with his own notes about them, on a poetry site of AminoApps, without my knowing until I found out completely by accident from doing a Grammarly poem check. All Poetry site did not help AT ALL. I gave Kevin the details of the poems stolen and the place where they were posted (for which I have proof and had lawyers ready to take things further) and also proved that there were poems stolen by the same AP user of at least four other AP members, who I notified. I then, because there was NO help, decided to write a poem in the hope that the plagiarist would come back to look for more poems to steal (which he did!) to lure him into a confession. Thank God it worked and I chatted for a couple of weeks with the plagiarist who had created yet another account to talk with me (!) and we were able to get him to remove all my poems and of others from AminoApps and promise he would never do anything like that again. Fortunately he was really sorry about what he had done, but this may not always be the case. Did I get any thanks from AP for doing that? No. Nothing.
Having so many great friends on the site left me with a dilemma; to stay where all of these things go on and with such terrible management, or to leave? I chose to give the site one last chance, remove the first review about All Poetry and stay: buying myself a 6 months gold membership in order to at least be able to see who views my profile and thus try and stop plagiarism, and enjoy writing quietly and supporting other members on the site. I have been doing this since the second half of December then a few weeks ago I received the most creepy message from Kevin, the owner, suggesting that it hadn't been a good idea to write the review I had written before and I should change that (!) and that I had been a problem, and that he hoped things would go better now! What I didn't realise at the time, but do now, that was a little touch of blackmail insinuating that things would be better for me IF I apologised for the review! I didn't rise to his obvious bate, carried on writing and thought nothing of it.
This week, completely out of the blue and to the point that it has made me physically ill in the last couple of days, having sleep problems and feeling exhausted, he has written that he wasn't happy about my response to his last message and thinks it is best if I do not stay on the site. And there you have it. No warnings, no proof of anything, no following his OWN SITE RULES of needing to issue several warnings before asking someone to leave! He had banned me - the ban order talks about harassment, to him (by reporting problems on the site and being pissed off when he does nothing?), to moderators (ditto? Only one moderator who I have spoken to about problems and have been totally dissatisfied with the lack of support), and other members on AP for which I have had NO warnings of at all. By this I take it to mean that the site, who do nothing when people are trolled and actively welcome returning trolls back to the site, don't like it when you stand up for yourself. Because, believe me, if you don't - no one else will help you.
As if all of this wasn't enough, although I am not able to (nor would I wish to) stay on the site or activate my membership again for the rest of the year (and again, with NO WARNING) the account remains open! I am currently in the process of working with solicitors about how legal or otherwise it actually is for a site to keep open an account which the account owner cannot access - but they can! This is a breach of privacy, especially when the account owner has specifically requested that the account be completely closed. With the account still open friends are still able to send messages to me, without knowing that I cannot open them, and that lays bare the chance for certain moderators to read what isn't theirs to read!
What I can see and need to share about this site, because I genuinely care about other people not getting stung on such a site and to have chance to know through my experience, is that this is a place where the management just want everyone to go quietly, not complain about any serious issues such as these - and hand over the cash! Kevin's suggestion that I left came after I had notified the site of yet another case of plagiarism and if there was genuinely an issue with me being on the site, why then did they allow me to purchase a gold membership - before asking me to leave and without any warning? It doesn't take a genius to work it out.
I just want to add that anyone posting poems on the site is at risk of another member just copying and pasting your poems from your page onto their computer in any quantity they want, and creating an Ebook of them, as one member who I thought of as a friend did with mine. If, like many other sites, this copy/paste function was disabled, that would not be a problem. But, of course, that takes money to set up.
I hope that by me taking the time and trouble to write this honest review (my second - I will not be silenced, Kevin! Sites like this are here for this very purpose) it will dissuade others from joining All Poetry. Don't be fooled by its well thought out pages and possibility to share and store as many poems as you wish; it is not worth all that you risk going through here and, like any pretty book, you don't always get what is on the cover.
As for you Kevin - I have had as much of you as I can stand. I need no response to this review as it is to prevent other potential users from going through the same hell that I have. Close my account down there, as requested due to legal advice, and I shall be more than glad to see see the back of such a sinking ship.
UPDATE: Phew! Finally, after writing three times to ask for my account to be completely closed on this toxic site rather than an unfair ban until December 26th (bizarre), it has been closed down. Just in time Kevin; a call this morning from a solicitor would have made it very clear that, to keep it open against the will of the account holder, is breaking data protection laws. Now I shall rest, heal from the nightmare of being there and, again I stress very strongly to anyone thinking of joining All Poetry; DON'T.
As of March 2022:
In response to just having read Kevin, the site owner's reply to my review, it is very predictable and may I remind anyone reading my review which I know has gained much interest, including personal responses and a lot of support from friends on the site, this person kicked me off All Poetry BECAUSE of my original review! Keep in mind that anyone considering joining AP will NOT receive any kind of support for bullying, harassment, plagiarism etc which the site actively turns a blind eye to, but dare you to even think of standing up for yourself or posting a review such as mine here (which is your right to do) you will be encouraged to leave All Poetry. A hideous site and a very creepy owner with his posse of one or two moderators; the rest having left over the years because of the site owner himself (this told to me personally in messaging by AnnD). You don't have a leg to stand on as far as honesty is concerned, Kevin, and it is just a matter of time before you have so many plagiarists and bullies on the site that someone will be taking out a lawsuit. Frankly after having been accused of being a harasser myself in Kevin's comments and also the joke (it really is quite laughable if it wasn't a total lie and very unfair) of his accusation of rumours of friends of mine also harassing the moderators I should be contacting a lawyer myself, and have already told the site this. But it really isn't worth it. I have felt so much better since being away from such a toxic place and what goes around comes around, so watch this space for all the others who will experience the same negativity there. As for being asked to be 'more cordial' (and I am reading that out loud to my family as I see it myself; so bizarre this comment is) it is a total lie. Kevin's fear was my review here, losing money from people leaving the site and having to come up against someone such as me who is not afraid to speak out when something is terribly wrong.
And don't anyone ever feel bullied to remove reviews or be forced to leave please - Site Jabber and other such sites are here for this very reason; so that we can speak out and tell the truth about what places like All Poetry are really like. I feel sorry and embarrassed for you Kevin.

I have been a member of this site for the last three years and without warning or myself being in violation of their rules they had me banned after hundreds of my works were published and used by their blog shows . My screen name there is Razz , my email address is [protected]@Outlook.comb. Address :11340 SW 145 Ave SW 145 Ave . Miami , Florida 33186 . Telephone number : [protected] . I fear what goes on at that site is nothing less but a scam which consumes credit money and personal users subscriptions .

I gotta say, I've been using All Poetry for a while now, and while there are some issues with plagiarism and copyright, it's not fair to say that everyone on the site is guilty of it. Sure, there have been cases where people have taken famous writers' work and put it into their own words, but that's not the fault of the site itself. And yeah, some users have been banned without warning, but that's just how it goes sometimes.
One thing I do know for sure is that there was a user named curechiari who passed away about a year ago. Her family has been posting on the site under her name, but some people have accused her of plagiarism. I can't say for sure whether or not she was guilty of it, but I do know that she was a respected member of the community and had even published books about All Poetry and other writers.
Despite the issues with plagiarism and bans, I still enjoy using All Poetry. There are so many talented writers on the site, and it's a great place to get feedback on your own work. Plus, there's always the chance that an FBI agent is lurking on the site, just waiting to catch someone in the act of stealing someone else's work. So if you're looking for a place to share your poetry and get feedback from other writers, All Poetry is definitely worth checking out.
All Poetry Review: A Community for Poets to Grow and Connect
I've been a member of All Poetry since November of 2014, and I must say that it has been an incredible journey for me. I have been writing poetry for most of my life, except for one poem that I wrote in fourth grade. Before joining All Poetry, my writing was limited to one direction or frame of mind. However, since joining this platform, I have found my muse has opened up to new styles and flows of words. I particularly enjoy the word prompts, but I also enjoy participating in other contests.
One of the things that I love about All Poetry is the community. I have found a lot of help and nice people there who have helped me grow as a poet. However, like any community, there are some troubles as well. One of the things that I don't appreciate is when people give medals for my poetry but then take them back and give them to someone else. This has happened to me a few times, and I find it unfair. I spoke with some of my friends on there, and they agreed that it wasn't fair. They wouldn't have admitted to their mistake or given the other person points. One time, a person was judging someone else's contest, and even though he asked for any style poems, she only judged a certain style. Even though there were others that were twice as good, she gave the medal to someone else. I avoid her contests and won't enter his any more as well. I don't think that should be allowed to be able to undo judging and take something away that was given.
Another thing that I find frustrating is that I can't copy and paste a section of a poem when pointing out my favorite parts when reading something after posting my own piece. Yet, I can when wanting to point out things I like or that I notice need improving. It would be great if this feature could be added to the platform.
Overall, All Poetry is an excellent platform for poets of all levels. It has helped me grow as a poet, and I have made some great friends along the way. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves poetry and wants to improve their skills.
Allpoetry Review: A Social Scene with Shady Characters and Disturbing Content
Allpoetry ain't just a site for poetry lovers, it's a whole social scene. You can connect with people from all over the world, but be warned, there are some real shady characters lurking around. The site is full of cliques, and if you get on the wrong side of one person, the whole gang will turn on you quicker than you can say "sonnet". And let me tell you, there are some real creeps on this site. My partner and I have seen some seriously disturbing stuff, like naked pics sent through the messaging system and links to porn sites left in the comments section. It's not just guys either, there are some real predators of all genders on this site. The moderators try to keep things under control by telling you to "ignore" these people, but they just keep coming back with new fake IDs. I had to put almost 80 people on my "ignore" list before I finally gave up on this site altogether. It's a real shame, because the site doesn't censor any of the poems that get posted, which is pretty cool. You can filter out adult content if you want to, but it doesn't interfere with the creativity of the writers. Maybe the problem isn't with the site itself, but with the people who use it for things other than poetry. All I know is that it's not a very pleasant place to be, and it's definitely not for the faint of heart.
All Poetry: A Haven for Cyberbullying and Adult Content
This website, All Poetry, has a lot of adult content that may not be suitable for young poets. Some people even call it "AllPornography" because of the amount of sexual content on the site. It's no wonder that some people have been on the site for a long time - they're probably just there for the free porn!
Unfortunately, cyber bullying is a real problem on this site. Some people in the comments may deny it, but they're probably just bullies themselves. It's important to give criticism in a respectful way, especially since many poets on the site may be dealing with depression.
The site claims to encourage constructive criticism, but it seems like the moderators don't take complaints seriously. Paid members and moderators seem to be biased towards their own complaints, which is unfair.
It's funny that there are suddenly a lot of positive comments on this site, even though many people are leaving negative reviews. If you're a young poet looking for a safe space to explore your ideas and improve your poetry, you might want to look for other poetry sites instead. All Poetry seems to be full of gossip and sexual predators.
AllPoetry Review: Great Concept, but Stalking and Harassment Ruined My Experience
I started writing on Allpoetry back in 2012 and I gotta say, it was a pretty cool experience. I loved writing and talking to people who seemed pretty decent. I was advised to keep my identity a secret, which I thought was a good idea for safety reasons. I never wanted to deceive anyone, I just wanted to be safe. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trusting some people who ended up betraying me. It was a real bummer, but what was even worse was being stalked and harassed offline by these so-called "professionals" who claimed to be therapists, armed forces personnel, human resources, nurses, IT specialists, lecturers, journalists, and even publishing company owners. It was a real nightmare.
To make matters worse, I was hacked twice within a year, which caused a lot of destruction in my personal and professional life. It was a real mess. Despite all of this, I still think that Allpoetry is a great concept and there are a lot of creative minds on the site. The site owner was always helpful and responsive, which was really cool. Unfortunately, the moderators weren't always so great. They were usually friends with the people who were stalking me, which made things even more difficult.
I really wish that the owner would stop allowing the use of multi IDs and monitor IMs more carefully. It would make things a lot easier for everyone. Interestingly enough, I did return to AllPoetry as a male for a short time (I did tell a mod I would do this, given all the problems I had from a certain group) and had an entirely different experience. Women were fawning over me left and right, but I never encouraged them or did anything inappropriate. Despite their behavior, I still acted like a gentleman.
Sadly, I don't think I'll ever use AllPoetry again while the core psychopaths remain. These bad seeds joined around 2008 and 2009 and they really don't like newbies. They exercise superiority over everyone and it's really not cool. All in all, I think AllPoetry has a lot of potential, but there are definitely some issues that need to be addressed.
Mixed Feelings About All Poetry: A Review of the Site's Pros and Cons
I gotta say, I have some mixed feelings about All Poetry. On the one hand, you can learn a lot from the site - there's so much poetry on there, from all different time periods and styles. But on the other hand, there's a lot of drama and negativity that goes on. I've heard stories about people getting harassed on the site, and even one person who died because of it. That's just not cool.
And then there's the issue of plagiarism. I mean, I get it - sometimes you read something and it inspires you to write something similar. But there are people on All Poetry who straight-up copy other people's work and pass it off as their own. And then there's Kevin Watt, who apparently copied a Maya Angelou poem word for word and posted it on the site. That's just not okay.
As a lawyer, I know that the best way to protect your work is to have hard copies with your name and the date on them. That way, if someone tries to claim your work as their own, you have proof that it's yours. But even then, it's frustrating to see people on All Poetry taking credit for other people's work.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that All Poetry can be a great resource for poets, but it's not without its problems. If you're going to post your work on the site, just be careful and make sure you're not plagiarizing anyone else's work. And if you see someone else doing it, call them out on it. We're all here to learn and grow as writers, and that can't happen if we're stealing from each other.
All Poetry Website Review: Copyright Violations and Dishonesty
So, I found this website called All Poetry a few weeks back and I gotta say, I'm not too happy with my experience. Turns out, they used three of my translations without my permission. I sent them an email about it and got a reply from some guy named Kevin Watt. But let me tell you, his response was pretty vague and didn't really address my concerns. So, I sent another email, this time a little less friendly, and gave them a week to take down the translations before I start taking legal action. Lucky for me, one of my colleagues knows a thing or two about copyright law, so it won't cost me too much to go down that route.
After a while, the site finally took down the translations, but one of the four translations that I gave them permission to use still doesn't have any publication acknowledgement. I mean, come on, is it really that hard to give credit where credit is due?
To make matters worse, the site owner replied to my original review with a dishonest account of what happened. They claimed that I only waited 24 hours before writing the review, but that's not true at all. And they didn't even notice that I had updated my review to acknowledge that the copyright violations had been taken down, but with some further issues.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone. It's just not worth the hassle.
Controversy Surrounding All Poetry: A Platform for Poets or a Site Promoting Perversions?
All Poetry is a website that has been causing quite a stir in the poetry community. Some people love it, while others hate it. There are those who believe that it is a platform for poets to showcase their work, while others think that it is a site that promotes homosexuality, demon worship, pornography, and other perversions.
The site claims to be a place where poets can come together and share their work. However, there are those who believe that it is run by people who hate God and are against Christ. These moderators are said to keep a close eye on the members of the site, looking for anyone who is causing what they call "civil unrest" in the "community."
Many Christians who have joined the site have found themselves in a difficult position. They cannot help but protest against the evil that is going on there. However, if they do protest, they are often banned from the site. This has led many Christians to believe that All Poetry is one of the most evil and devilish sites on the internet.
Despite the controversy surrounding the site, there are still many people who enjoy using it. They believe that it is a great platform for poets to share their work and get feedback from others. However, there are also those who believe that the site is promoting homosexuality and other perversions.
In conclusion, All Poetry is a site that has caused a lot of controversy in the poetry community. While some people love it, others hate it. There are those who believe that it is promoting homosexuality, demon worship, and other perversions. However, there are also those who believe that it is a great platform for poets to share their work and get feedback from others. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to decide whether or not they want to use the site.
Building a Community of Poets: My Review of All Poetry
I gotta say, I find it pretty interesting that some folks are complaining about not getting comments on their poetry unless they engage with other users. Personally, I think that's one of the best things about All Poetry. It's not all about getting praise for your own work - it's about building a community and supporting each other. You gotta give a little to get a little, you know what I mean?
And as for the contests, I don't see why people are complaining about them. Anyone can start a contest if they want to see something specific. Don't like the contests that are already happening? Start your own! It's not that hard.
I will say that I don't use the site as much as I could, which is why I gave it three stars. I reserve four and five stars for sites that really blow me away. But that's just me. And I do think it's a bit pricey to get a pro subscription, but hey, that's just my opinion. I appreciate that there's still a lot you can do on the site for free.
One thing I do wish is that free users could include images in their poem posts. That would be pretty cool. But overall, I think All Poetry is a great place to share your work and connect with other writers. So if you're looking for a supportive community to share your poetry with, give it a shot!
Mixed Feelings About All Poetry: A Review of the Writing Platform
I recently revisited All Poetry, after taking down my initial review, and I must say that I have mixed feelings about this website. On one hand, it used to be a great place to write and express oneself. I have been using this site on and off for almost ten years and I have learned so much from it. I have grown as a writer and as a person, and for that, I will always be grateful.
However, on the other hand, my experience with All Poetry has not been entirely positive. I came to this website months ago to speak about my experiences over the years, particularly about being stalked both online and offline. Unfortunately, the owner's response to my situation was most unsatisfactory. Instead of offering help or support, he chose to blame me for the situation. Meanwhile, the person who has been stalking me and others is still allowed to have a page on this site, hiding behind a shroud of anonymity. This is not justifiable in any way.
As adults, we are responsible for what we post online, and I take full responsibility for my opinions and everything in between. However, I cannot help but feel disappointed by the lack of action taken by the site's owners to address my situation. It has been a nightmare for me, and I wonder how they would feel if they were in my shoes.
Despite my negative experience, I still believe that All Poetry has the potential to be a great platform for writers. However, the site's owners need to take responsibility for the content on their site and ensure that it is a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Until then, I cannot recommend this site to others.
