Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to report two problems with a parcel I booked at Varanasi Junction.

1. Parcel booking details

From: Varanasi (BSB) To: New Cooch Behar (NCB)
Item: Old and used two-wheeler scooter (petrol tank empty)

2. Demand for money by an unknown person
When I reached the parcel office for booking, a man standing in front of the office demanded ₹4,500 for booking and loading. He did not give his name or show any identity card or badge [add: whether he wore a uniform or badge]. I refused and went directly to the supervisor’s office, where the parcel was booked after RC and insurance documents were checked. The official charge printed on my receipt is only ₹1,674. I request an inquiry to find out whether this person is railway staff, a contracted worker or an outsider, and action under rules.

3. Parcel not dispatched
More than three days after booking, my scooter is still lying at the station. I have not been given any information on the train or date by which it will be loaded and sent.
