Buyer Beware
When I stopped my services 3 days into their billing cycle they refused to refund the money. When I called customer service she described them like a gym membership - pay whether you use it or not! I spoke with their customer service leader who was unwilling to bend. I have logged a complaint on their online feature so will see if this brings about the credit I am seeking.
Desired outcome: $379 reimbursed
Online services
IHIRE basically is a gym membership, they keep charging you even though you don't have any active jobs. They make you jump through multiple hoops just to try to close a job out, and most of the time there's a catch and you wind up paying them for services they don't even provide. Way too expensive for little or NO results. Bait and Switch at best. Scammers, Rip Off Artists behind a computer. they also change their polices to suit themselves, one day it's one thing, and the next day it's "we had a change in policy recently". We heard that 3 times in a year. Stay Far Away if you like your money.
I was working closely to my "Account Manager", but he did nothing and wound up costing us thousands of dollars with very little or no leads. You do very little if nothing to help and guide your long standing, paying customers. So everything you wrote in response is not true. Again, bait and switch like a gym membership.
Service/online job search
One look at this website and I can tell they are blowing smoke...
They want to charge you for "premium service". What a load. Just use any other of the thousands of job posting sites online that don't charge you for BS "premium services".
I'm not looking for this to get resolved I just want more people aware of this crap site.
Not free
I was searching for a job a found this site www.ihire.com. There were many jobs there and I found a few which I was interested in. When I pressed the link I found out that I have to pay to be able to see the job description and all the details. So you have to pay money to be able to see everything. That's not correct. When one is searching for a job that means that person doesn't have a place to work and that his budget is limited. I did not have that much money to waste it on this website. Sites like this one should be free to use.
Useless job searching
Ihire is just a waste of time, had to find a job twice over the past 3 years, and for some reason IHire comes up first. I had my resume done by them, but when I came back the second time, they evaluated it, and said it was a poor resume, THEY WROTE IT! I summit 40 or 50 applications, and have never even gotten one call. I received several calls from just going on Craigslist. Don't waste your money, and get depressed because you feel you can't get a job. They probably don't even get to the position your applying to
Over billed
I signed up for a one time debit to my account. IHire has billed me for three billing cycles. When I called to remedy the situation they immediately stated I applied for an ongoing debit to my account of $35.00 per month. I know I signed up for a one time debit I specifically looked for that feature. Who in their right mind would sign up for a job search on an ongoing basis. They agreed to credit it my back the $70.00 overage but I have not yet received the money.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
job search assistance
This agency promises to assist legal professionals in their job search; in reality, the company does nothing but send out recycled job postings from CarerBuilder and Monster. No one at iHire took the time to review my resume and try to match me with suitable emlpoyment. I have an excellent resume with years of education and experience in the legal field, and I am currently employed; however, I am trying to relocate to another state and needed some assistance in the job search. iHire really did nothing and charged me for it. After complaining to customer service, they did offer a partial refund. My advice to prospective job seekers: make sure you ask what specifically the agency is going to doo, if you decide to give them a try.
Golfguy8, do you work for one of these sites? Please read my original complaint again. I signed a 3 month contract with iHire so they could specifically assist me iin a legal search, not just send recycled ads from other sites. I could have reviewed Monster and CareerBuilder ads myself. I PAID them so they could do something specific with my resume. In fact, after my complaint to their home office, they agreed to refund 1/3 of the feee, which I have yet to see. As a result I filed a complaint with the BBB in Indiana. I stand by my original complaint: iHire did NOTHING. You be fair golfguy.
I think most of these companies are data aggregators. Information is King. They are all out to get our details to sell amongst one another. I feel better knowing about ihirelegal because, I, too, have an accomplished background and felt slighted that nothing positive resulted.
I did not authorize this company to charge me anything. I didn't sign up for their service they refused to give me a refund I had to cancel my card. They use deceptive practices and charge without authorization. This is a very shady business. When I contacted customer service ..both times they said the manager was not there and they could do nothing.
Do NOT sign on with iHire, or any of them! The day after I signed on, I was, and continue to be, hit with nothing but SPAM! I went from Zero spam to my junk folder being filled with at least 25 messages every morning.
I too signed the same agreement and was emailed a format to use for my resume which was totally inadequate as far as resume formets go for a professional with my level of experience. During the entire 3 month period, I never heard from my job Agent (John Amos, nor dis I receive any assistance from this service. The job leads were the same leads easily found on all the job boards advertised on the internet. Do not waste your money. By the way, I just heard from Mr. Amos last week asking me why he couldn't get the charges to go through on my credit card. Maybe I'll give him the answer to that question if he ever gets around to answering my emails.
CareerBuilder, Monster and about 2, 600 other databases too, which nobody has time to search all that. iHire is not a recruiter...it is an aggressive search service that take hours of search time off your plate and allows job seekers to spend more time actually applying and following up...be fair. That's worth the small fee they charge.
