Huffman Koos Furniture review: Furniture quality

This past February 2026 we went to the Farmingdale store looking to buy an whoe house full of furniture for a new home being built in North Carolina. After spending OVER $11K on furniture and shipping to NC from the NJ warehouse, we discovered that the Palister couch we custom ordered would take 12 weeks to arrive. Fast forward 15 weeks later and the entire furniture delivery finally arrived to NC.
The dining room set after being unpacked had numerous defects and issues with the curio cabinet doors and chair frames being warped so the chairs would not sit flat on the floor and rocked as well as chips, dents and flaws in the finish of the dining table and chair legs.
After numerous calls back and forth with Lisa from customer service, Huffman Koos agreed to send a local furniture repair technician to look at the dining room set and evaluate it for repairs or re-finishing.
The furniture technician after carefully inspecting the dining room set and attempting to get the chairs (5 of the 6 chairs were not sitting flat on the floor) to sit flat, made his report to Huffman Koos that the entire dining room set should be replaced.
As you can imagine Huffman Koos was less than enthusiastic about this report and attempted to offer us $500 to "let it go"...
After another several rounds of back and forth on the telephone Lisa from customer service agreed to send a new table, four chairs and a new curio/china cabinet and take back the same items from our NC house where they were located.
Fast forward another 8 weeks and the delivery of the replacement furniture arrived...
The four "brand new" chairs looked as if they were returns from other customers... three had fabric pulls, torn piping holes and puckers in the faux leather backing behind the decorative panels and one chair (it is in a light cream colored fabric) had a huge dark [censored] stain in the seat cushion as if someone with dirty pants sat in it!
The china/curio cabinet had a large crack in the lower side rail under the glass, and the replacement dinig table shipping box from the manufacturer looked as if it had been thrown from a truck on the highway.
The chairs were refused by us, the china/curio cabinet was refused by us and when the dining table was unboxed and opened up it had distress marks in the cream colored finish on all four corners and the table legs had the metal covering on the bottoms appear as if they painted over rust metal as the surface looked like pitted and bumpy metal that had been painted over.
At least there were no chips, dings and human hairs in the table top, so that's a plus... There was however a paint stain on the tabletop at one end next to the glass inlay from whomever applied the stain but it hopefully "might" be able to be cleaned/removed by the next furniture technician we would again request to inspect the dining room set. On that note, the table was accepted by us.
The "replacement" chairs, china/curio cabinet and the original dining room table were loaded back onto the truck and away they went.
Now it's been over five weeks since we last heard from Lisa at Huffman Koos as she went on vacation and apparently there is no one who can do her job while she is away. We are awaiting a response from HK about taking the ENTIRE dining room set back and issuing us a FULL refund of it's portion of the bill for all the other furniture.
The Palister couch is fine, the barrel chairs are fine, it just seems that the Vietnamese manufacturer has really bad quality control and HK doesn't want to make things right by either replacing damaged/defective items with ones that have been inspected BEFORE being delivered out of state and feels that offering a few dollars to make it all go away is doing good business.
If you want to be treated like you're buying furniture at a "scratch and dent" or outlet store, go the Huffman Koos.
