screen covered with lines
Do not buy HP product, I bought a HP Touchsmart that costed me over $1000 +, it is little over one year, 2/3 of screen is covered with lines that you can't do anything. I didn't buy the extra warranty due to paying over $1000 + on laptop. It shouldn't need the warranted. Now, I have to take the battery out and stick back in or turn it on and turn off so many times to see screen will be normal. Who has the time for this junk. I bought it after 22 years of military service to treat myself and it didn't even last 2 years and it will cost me over $370 to fix it, that's what HP customer service says. Also, the repair price of $370 +, I can buy new laptop. I looked up the internet, so many people who bouth HP has the same problems that I have. I have a daughter that her Christmas wishes for this year is a laptop, I will not buy a laptop/computer from HP, NEVER, AGAIN. So, I am letting people know to DO NOT buy HP, I am let everyone know, it's a crap!
printer offline problems - product warranty not honored
As of 10/6/10, it's been 18 days since I begun to use the device and I continue to get "Printer offline" messages. I have contacted HP's Tech Support innumerable times (Email and telephone) and they have failed to correct the problem. Based on several internet postings, this a known problem that has not been resolved by HP.
I have requested a replacement and HP has refused to honor their warranty because "the printer is working and the problem is software related" (Note: Product warranty includes software)
The auto answer button keeps clicking off. So, the fax just rings and rings when someone calls. I spent a lot of time with customer service. They finally agree to replace it with a REFURBISHED unit and it will take 11 days to get here. Unless I PAY more for shipping or a care pack to return other crappily made products. So, they only want more money. And, the superviser, "SHANE" refused to give me any other identifying information. He said if he granted my request for them to pay for faster shipping "Millions of people would want it too." If millions of people need their HP products replaced, then HP should shut its doors of pay to fix all the products at no cost to the customer. And, customer service should be upfront about their name and work extension. What a wimp!
Wow! All of these complaints sound rediculously similar to mine. While I found the call centers kind- 22 hours on the phone and 7 different people later ...HP 8500 sucks and the HP Product has deteriorated to a horrible money sucking/time consuming failure. I agree with the class action lawsuit - and an "I hate HP" Facebook page. That may be the only way to bring this to light. I have some friends going through the exact same thing- still seething about their non-working HP 8500- and would be happy to "like" that page!
The HP Officejet Pro 8500 has constant paper jams. Usually will require from 4 to 12 attempts just to print one page that is not torn or skewed, and even these have a dentation at the top of the page. This has been a problem since the printer was new and still continues. Printer stayed unopened for 4-5 months and when I tried to call HP customer service, there was no such number listed on their website. I finally found their number and despite my telling them the problem I had in reaching them (the store I bought it from, OfficeMax, did not have a customer service number either), HP refused to do anything about it, saying the warranty had expired---by 72 hours! I would never buy another HP again (this was my third one). OfficeMax store personnel told me that they have a very high return and failure rate on HP printers...about 10 to 1 over other brands like Lexmark. They also said that they do not even suggest a customer buy an HP...at least not where I live where there are two stores. I wish there were a class action lawsuit as many people have been victimized by HP poor quality and customer service and HP does not seem to care. Submitted by D. Boullemet at Laddersafe@Netzero.com
manufacturing defect piece
Purchased hp laptop PAV DV4-1411 Sr.No.CND93250BB on 19th Oct. 2009 against payment of Rs.44300/-. Warranty of one year given for Hardware and Softwares. No terms & conditions of Warranty supplied. In middle of Jan.2010 Laptop went out of order. On checking by local service center it was conveyed that mother board has gone out of order. Mother board replaced after 15 days. During this process windows vista Home Premium corrupted. Complaints lodged have gone in vain. DVD Writer of the laptop was also defected one. It has been replaced with new one. LCD of Laptop also became defective. Internal LCD changed but not working properly. Matter still pending. The laptop is a manufacturing defective piece. It requires replacement with new one of same model. If same model not available then with model of similar configuration and of same price.

abuse of 'extended warranty'
I bought an HP Pavilion Desktop from Fry's nearly 3 yrs ago. I was told by the salesman at the time, how important it was for me to purchase an EXTENDED WARRANTY, informing me, that in the event my PC needed repairs, "we will replace it, with a new one'', so I was sold, bought a 3 yrs. warranty.
Well, a couple of months ago, my desktop suddenly went out of order. Would not come on at all. I took it to Frys. The motherboard was out of whack they said.
I was told they would give me a call to pick it up once it was repaired. I waited God knows how long. I had no PC at home. I went back a couple of days latter to pick up a loaner, which turned out to be so slow, that the grass in my lawn grew faster than that piece of junk to boot up. I took it back.
I bought a new PC, not from Fry's (they lost me as a customer for a new PC, but hey, why should they care, my business is just a drop in the bucket for them).
I finally get a call to pick up my PC, ''its as good as new'', I was told.
Well, a couple of days latter, same thing happens. I take it back, again, they said it is the motherboard., '' we'll make sure it repaired to your satisfaction'' says the sales guy.
I think it was May, the first time I took it to be repaired.
After a couple of months, I had a call from a sales person, my PC was ready. This was on Wednesday September 16th 2010. I was told, that a new motherboard was replaced, along with a faulty memory stick, and a new hard drive. ''YOUR COMPUTER IS AS GOOD AS NEW'' had I heard that before?
I went to pick it up the next day. I told the service person, to switch it on. Wow, they forgot to install the operating system. I had to wait for them to do that, no apologies on their part. I live 20 miles away, would have had to make another trip.
Today is the 19th, I switch on the PC at home, and you guessed it right, its out of whack again.
So I have to make another trip, 20 miles, so they can perhaps get it repaired by Xmas of 2011, that is, if its repairable at all.
Since the inception of Fry's in Houston, I have been their regular customer, over the years, have given them huge amount of business, but I, like you, are just a NUMBER to them.
I never complained to the manager, trying to protect the employees from negative feed back, but enough is enough.
I wish their service was monitored.
I WANT A REPLACEMENT PC, I PAID ENOUGH FOR MINE, OVER $1300 OR SO.
''Conns'' a well known electronic outlet in Texas was recently fined by the OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY general, for screwing people after they bought an extended warranty. Not repairing, replacing, or making good on their promise to be honest, seems that they need a name change ''CONED''

computer caught on fire
My Hp G60 series has been overheating from the moment I purchased it. I was a nursing student and lost various papers and assignments because it would get so hot it would burn my leg and hands. Initially, they were very helpful, they took the computer back, fixed it, but it eventually began to over heat again. Recently, I had it sent off to them to repair the same problem again but they sent it back, not repaired, and the issue was not addressed. I called them rate away, angry, with the intent to find out why they had not repaired it. The reason that they gave me was that because I had spilt some water on the keyboard-my laptop was no longer covered under warrenty. Of course, the spill has nothing to do with the overheating, which was the ongoing problem. Eventually the customer service representitave agreed to have it get repaired, and a "case manager" would contact me in 24 hours. No one called. I called again, again I was promised to have a case manager call me in 24-48 hrs, and yet again no one called. I began to go to school again at the beginning of Sept, and I had no time to think about Hp calling me back, although it was in the back of my mind. Then, sitting in class, I smelt smoke-a plastic burning smell coming from my computer. I turned it off, and called Hp as soon as my class was finished. They gave me the run around, and one customer service rep hung up on me (which had not been the first time). I was so angry with them, they tried to tell me that my warrenty was up, but it was extended by their rep when I called them the first time because I still had three days remaining on my initial warrenty-so it was extended by 90days. I was told, again, that the problem would be resolved and a case manager would call me within 72 hours. One would assume that a smoking laptop from a giant corporation like HP would be high priority, a public saftey issue perhaps, but no...no suggestions of not turning the computer back on, nothing, just ignorance and contempt. I went home and my girlfriend (who is also a RN) told me that I should transfer my files and stop using the computer. I turned it on to do so, and it caught fire...I burned my hand (mildly) and after the smoke cleared my girlfriend in a panic called Hp...48hrs later we still are getting the run around...wth, if i was Hp I would think a fire was just lit under my ###, as there is a potential lawsuit here. We don't want any compensation, or a new computer, we just want one that works and won't burn my house down and kill me family! wow...

defective laptop and damges done by helpdesk
Dear Sir's,
My company variant Corporation purchased this new laptop from HP authorised dealer in South Extension Part-2, New Delhi, model no. HP Compaq-420 (Serial No.SCNU015CHJ).
This laptop started fuctioning poorley only after 10-15 days of its purchase date. Th complaint was registered with ther authorised dealer whose address is given below. This dealer sent his person to my place for repairment but that engineer damaged the keyboard while opening the laptop and was unsucessful in repairing the problem too.
Since the first day of my complaint I have been asking HP to replace my laptop as it is under warranty and I cannot carry a repaired laptop which i just bought but no one ever listens. I have been searching HP email id s and contact details to register a complaint but nothing is given on their site.
The dealer has now gone against and is not agreeing to replace or even repair the laptop and says that I need to talk to HP directly. I do not understand how can someone force such a big company to come to my home to repair it. Further I have also registered complaints in HP customer care whose responses are even poorer.
I request you to take strict action against HP-India for keeping such stupid dealers in their contacts and supplying defective pieces to the consumer.

false advertising
After cowboom.com advertised the price of this computer for several days they cancelled the order and interrupted its shipping to me while it was on the way. Not only have I passed on other deals on this computer and they have expired but I also bought a video card for it that I had delayed buying until I knew it would ship. If they advertise the price for so long and sold so many of them I can only assume that this is sneaky and underhanded business. I was not compensated at all for trouble nor have I received good customer service about how they messed up the advertised price. Not to mention I still haven't received a refund. Don't order from these people and if you do, don't trust them until you actually receive the product at your house.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The exact same thing happened to me. I purchased the Pavilion p6367c from Cowboom, only to experience the same troubles as CM1986. The order went through, my credit card was charged and the item shipped. Then, I was notified that THEY made a pricing error, so they were canceling the order. Before I ordered the computer, I did research on the company, which is owned by Best Buy. Their feedback was less than stellar. In fact, it was less than 50% positive feedback. Against my better judgment, I decided order the computer from them. I thought most of the negative feedback for Cowboom might have occurred before Best Buy purchased them, not that long ago. Boy was I wrong! I will never purchase another item from Cowboom and I'm strongly considering never purchasing another item from their parent company Best Buy if this is how they do business.
contact them through email through their website, give them a timeline for the refund or the computer after that point contact your back to dispute the charges. Thats ### that they would allow the order to go through and make it to the shipping point before yanking it.
faulty motherboard
I bought a HP slimline in October 2007.I loved this computer and never had a problem with it until recently. It would not go into sleep mode and told me there was some error with the NVIDIA card. I tried updating the drivers and everything-nothing. So on Monday I used it to do homework and Wednesday night went to turn it on and nothing. No power-no messages-nothing. Upon having someone look at it they told me it was the motherboard. Now I registered my pc with HP so why was I never notified about a recall of faulty motherboard. I see they extended a warranty until december 09.Considering this is August 2010, that is useless to me. Now I am a college student with no money to buy or repair my computer.Anyone know how I can get HP to fix this?
windows 7
We bought this computer at wal-mart about 3 months ago. The programs you installed on the computer is not user friendly and to even activate them they want a product key in which we do not have. You can keep your Windows 7 because it is useless. I have HP products and I can't use them on this HP product because it is not compatible with Windows 7. I'm not going out and buying new printers when my printers are perfectly fine. How do I uninstall Windows 7 and install a more user friendly version?

lies
I noticed that my computer was eating up the recovery disc in my computer... I called hp and one of the tech's said that they would send me a recovery disc... After 2 months or so I didn't get them... So I made a complaint to hp. I got a call from tom from [protected] ext 13 which gave me his personal guarantee he would fix this problem for me at no charge... So then I got those recovery discs through the mail.. Put the 1st one in.. It ran through and asked me to put the 2nd one in.. I did... Then the disc wiped out everything on my computer! So I called tom [protected] ext 13 and told him what had happened... So he sent me out another set of recovery disc.. That didn't fix anything! Both set of recovery disc were bad! So going back and forth with tom [protected] ext 13 and not having my computer for 2 weeks was very frustrating to me... So tom tryed to sell me a hard disc for $156.00... I wasn't pleased about that! So I took my computer to a tech and he fixed it for $50.00.. So I called tom [protected] ext 13 to let him know... I also asked tom what are we going to do about this since my computer was working fine until I put your recovery disc in it.. And he said he wasn't going to anything more in a rude fashion.. So I made another complaint to hp's web site... And earl [protected] ext 13 asked me what do I want to happen? I told earl (who signed the return email as eark) he can't even proof check his own spelling! I told eark that I want an apopogy letter and he offered me a $25.00 coupon.. He said he was a supervisor (Not).. Not by his word that is for sure. .5 minutes later he called back and said he wouldn't do either one! It was one lie after another !Down with hp! I am going to the public and expose these people who all they want is to sell you something you don't need! Oh by the way their tech support sucks! My tech told me that 1 out of 2 hard disc fail from hp! Don't buy any hp products. I have problem with my notebook since I bought it.. Since day 1.

My company has brought their Professional testing tool, for some reason it is not supporting our application. It is almost the 4th month and I did not get any solution yet, they just email you at the end of your day and then when you reply, they take again one or more full working day and then reply in the piece by piece meal.We are certainly not going to renew any more contract and will go for some other company product.
HP have to be the worst company in the world do deal with, their notebooks go faulty as soon as the warranty runs out, then when you try and contact them they want nothing to do with you.
I would never purchase anything from HP again and would warn anyone to think twice before even considering to purchase HP products!
I have been trying to renew my extended warranty for over 2 weeks. All calls to HP are sent to India . There is no one in the US to talk to with a problem. They will not extend my warranty without a credit card and I have to pay for 3 years but only receive coverage for 2. The new warranty becomes retroactive to the day I bought the computer so, I would be paying for coverage I can't possibly collect on.2dd22
Business user called HP about a warranty part replacement. HP told business user to bring printer to CrossRoads Computers for warranty repair. Have been fighting on the phone with HP for 5 days trying to get the warranty replacement part sent to us. We have been disconnected, rerouted and put on hold too many times. This is unexceptional. HP Sucks.
I was watching out 51' HP Plasma when I heard a pop and the screen went out. I could hear sound, just no picture. I investigated to find solutions, only to find out that there is a known problem with their plasma tv products. HP needs to issue a recall on these products and have them serviced since the problem is known to them.
By the way...just take a look at the persons email address. Anytime they use yahoo, hotmail, gmail etc. it is not legit! They would use the companies email address and not the others. Also take a look at the "UK" on the email address, that alone should tell you the UK is very notorious for scamming emails!
First of all it's a scam with someone using the HP's name to scam you for money. It happens all the time and people will fall for it. It's a SCAM!
Everytime I phone for support, the techs are very pleasant, a bit hard to understand, and rather than helping with the specific issue, they tell me that the problem is hackers trying to get into my computer and I should buy a 2 yr. extended warranty, and that will solve all my problems...however, my current problem still remains unsolved.
This has happened 3 times already.
hp pavilion dv7-3067nr
Purchased this computer 7 months ago. 28 days ago, it started freezing up and not responding at all. The error was that WINDOWS had stopped responding. This lasted about 3 days then it froze and went to a blck screen and would not reboot. Sent to HP, they had it 2 days. When i got it back 2 days later it did the same things again. Sent it back to HP and they had it 4 days. Again 2 days after I got it back, it did it again. They have had this computer 2 times and have not yet fixed it. It has now crashed again and they want me to send it back a third time! They have reimaged the HD, replaced the HD and the CPU. They do not stand behind their products! Buyer Beware!
overheating
I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC purchased in October 2008 for $585.06, We have had over heating problems for quite sometime now, it began about 6 months after purchase, but we never owned a laptop before and thought it was a bit strange but also thought maybe it was normal, the laptop overheats and shuts down. Sometimes getting so hot you can't touch it and have to manually shut it down quickly. I found out that it is by manufacturer defect and I would like to know what can or is being done about it? I found several thousand complaints online about the very same model we own, and well I'm surprised that the news media hasn't picked up on it. My kids were online playing a game for a while and the overheating base burned their legs while the laptop was on their laps, while they were wearing shorts. I can't imagine what would have happened if they had left the laptop on, and if they laid the laptop on my couch and went outside to play? My couch may have caught on fire before shutting itself down, therefore burning our home down. My goodness can something be done for our family regarding this computer? We are not able to purchase another, and this is all my kids have for school work to be done on. I'm super glad I don't own a buisness and work on my computer daily or I would be seriously disappointed in the purchase that I have made. Again can HP help my family? Something could seriously happen & I would like to know that the company we have purchased all our computer needs from can & will help us somehow. Thank you for your time. Our phone number is, [protected] our home address is: Jolene and William Zeigler 5241 South Freeman Rd. Orchard Park, NY 14127
Gotta make sure you keep it on a hard flat surface! My daughter blew mine up sitting it on her bed playing on line...it has the fans underneath the unit that need to let it breath. I did not know that either until she almost caught my house on fire! Also make sure you keep the PC in AC...humidity can cause hell on a lap top!
Did you contact HP ? laptops are not known to overheat, they will get warm if you use certain applications but won't go to the point of overheating and shutting down.
warranty denied
I bought a brand new HP printer..loaded it up with paper (less than the 80 sheets recommended) and the tray broke. When I called their service department (apprently in India) it took 25 minutes to register my claim folled by a request to call back. I called back after another 25 minutes repeating myself they told me they wouldnot stand behind their product. appently they felt it was a manufacturers defect that the tray broke. When I spoke ot Best buy..they said after 14 days I had to deal with HP. Apparently both of them don't want any futurte business from me!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I'm sick of big business outsourcing calls. We need a people's revolt in the United States and bring down the hierarchy.
their customer service reps are rude, incompetent and can barely understand you
The product is defective. This is the third time this unit is sent back to the Houston Service center for repair. The first time I got it back in 6 or 7 weeks. The second time, I got it back in two days, only to find out they did not replace my motherboard as promised, but replaced the RUBBER FEET at the bottom of my unit. The problem returned as I knew it would, and I have not gotten it back yet. It has been over two months since I contacted HP about this problem. I have just received a call from India saying that I should not expect the unit back until another two additional weeks, at the earliest. The case manager is frequently away from her desk, has NEVER called me back, and apologizes and sighs when I tell her about the problem. I thought she had woken up when I called her. IF she sleeps at her desk, I would not surprised at the very least. Personal attacks aside, HPs customer service is exceptionally ###, I have called countless times, have been transferrred seven or eight times before speaking to someone who "tried" to help me and failed. I bought their extended warranty knowing the unit was faulty, and was told to buy early, and was promised a whole year after my factory warranty expired. I now have one whole month less warranty for the same price. Their customer service reps are rude, incompetent and can barely understand you. This is completely ridiculous. I asked for a repair unit and HP should replace it under the terms of its warranty but continues to disappoint me. More importantly, it is costing me thousands of hours of productivity that I will never get back just as I am beginning to launch my company. This is completely unacceptable for such a large NGO to get away with. HP should step up.
poor customer service
I purchased a cp2025 color printer 3 weeks ago June 22, 2010 and the printer printed crooked. I have been with technical service and customer service for over 10 days to get this printer replaced .I have been given a run around as to why they can't get an answer to the replacement, turns out India has the say so as to how to replace this 3 week old defective printer. I was told 24 hours and still no answer . Still no communication. This company has the worst customer service.
awful after sale service, scam you from your money
My 3 1/2 year HP Notebook computer stopped working and the warranty had expried 6 months before. After talking with Hewlett Packards technical support on the phone, I agreed to pay $300 for them to repair the computer, which they said would be a complete refurbish of the computers hardware. When I received the computer back, all they had done was replace the harddrive, which I could have done myself for about $70. I have contacted Enid, my case worker and even wrote a letter to Mr. Mark Hurd, the president of HP but have gotten no response from anyone at HP. My case number is [protected].
We have had so many problems with HP Products (we are not purchasing the brand any longer) that our staff calls anything that is broken or junky "Packerd". Anyone who is dishonest is a "Packerhead". Inside jokes, not for long.

I also purchased a H.P. desktop in 2/21/13. When I took it out the box and turn it on the problems started. The screen would blink out
for a second and pop back on, while I am sending emails, the mouse would stop working and the screen would stop working as well.
I had to turn off the computer and wait ten mins before I could use it again. I contacted H.P and had to reset my computer. That
did not work it started as soon as I turn it back on .I contacted H.P again. and the computer was picked up for service. How can I
say this without become angry! The same thing happen ! the mother board was replaced and now the computer still blinks off,
but now the screen jumps and the key board, mouse, and touch screen works when it wants to. I contacted H.P again. Computer
will be picked up again for service. I had a Dell Computer it was a work horse. I should have stuck with what works! My grandson
wanted a H.P. for school and I stated I would buy anything but H.P. Not worth time nor effort!
