So, I signed up for this plan. Made my first payment... and already they don't wanna cover a repair. I'm disappointed. I thought I did good research on this plan. Look elsewhere.

I havent had to make a claim yet (fingers crossed) but I've had to call for inquiries and home closing related items. Each time I've gotten through to a real human and he was kind and answered my questions. The documents are thorough and clear. I heard from several warranty companies before choosing this one and just on the front end by far this one has been the most professional and courteous. Thank you.

One of my customers uses this company. I was skeptical about taking the job. Warranty companies are notorious for being difficult to deal with and it takes forever to get anything done. That's not the case with this company! They made it unbelievably easy! I showed up, sent one email with a quote, did the job. The same day and got paid the same day. If you're a contractor like myself, if the customer has this warranty company, definitely take the job! If you're a homeowner, this is the warranty coverage you want!

Scammers. They dropped my coverage after 7 months. I think it's 'cause the technician recommended a new air conditioner unit. They paid me back for the repair. I kept getting the same customer service person on every call. The last call he said no more funds will be taken out. They took one more payment after that. When I scheduled for a technician to come out and told them I have a warranty plan. They told me they never heard of this place or it's not with them. I had two different companies explain this to me.

Our furnace stopped working in the middle of winter and I tried calling the claims department like 10 times from morning till evening. I left many messages and nobody called me back for several days. I tried calling again a few days later and finally got ahold of *** to file a claim and fix our furnace. He told me that if I pay for the repair and send a video of the problem, an invoice, and a receipt, they will reimburse me ASAP. So, I sent all the stuff to the claims department through email. I had to pay the invoice myself just to get heat back in our home (which is not how it's supposed to work according to their website. The website says they pay the contractor directly, so no need for reimbursement. But that didn't happen.) I've called, texted, and left voicemails with no response. I still don't know if, when, or how I'll get reimbursed. Their service is basically non-existent. Avoid this company at all costs. They don't support their warranties and only care about your money.

Called the customer service number and some guy answered and told us what to do about getting our AC fixed on a day that was over 100 degrees. Called around and most HVAC companies didn't wanna work with a home warranty company for reimbursement. Finally found one who told us all the nightmares they had but we promised to pay him directly if there was any trouble. I WAS TOTALLY AMAZED WITH HOW WONDERFUL HOME PROTECTION OF AMERICA WAS! First of all, no long wait times to speak to a rep and the guy was patient, knowledgeable, and a total joy to work with. Secondly, our HVAC man was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to describe to the guy over the phone what was wrong with our unit, what needed to be replaced and the price and then HPOA paid via credit card. We're happy, our HVAC man was happy and we are delighted to have HPOA as our home warranty plan. We pay a small amount each month and it already more than paid for itself in one emergency repair. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a reliable, affordable home warranty plan.

I called them for a service request. I told them about the problem. They refused to honor our contract, saying that our issue was "pre existing". They said they would only refund the premiums we paid if I sent them an email saying that I told them our issue was ongoing, even though I never said that. They didn't want me to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com about their company.

I've been payin' every month for this home warranty service. My clothes dryer just kicked the bucket. My bathroom vent ain't workin' right. I've called 'em and left messages, but ain't nobody pickin' up the phone. And they ain't callin' me back like they said they would. The email I sent got sent back sayin' it couldn't be delivered. They couldn't even find the email address. I reckon this whole thing is a scam. I want my money back so I can buy a new dryer.

I paid $64 a month for this company and I've only used it once. Today, my washing machine broke down. I called a repairman who came at 8 am. We've been calling for over 5 hours to get a response, authorization, or anything from this company. No one has responded or answered my call! The repairman had to leave after he and I called for over 2 hours. It's now 2 pm and all I'm getting is a voicemail. I think this company went bankrupt and no one said anything.

I bought warranty service from HOPA based on ComplaintsBoard.com ratings & reviews, mainly because there ain't many complaints against them. But my experience is way different. I called and sent *** to *** but couldn't talk to anyone 'bout my dryer problem. I sent this message to *** and here it is: Hello, I got an *** warranty. My dryer ain't workin'. I called 3 times and left messages, but no one called back. I sent an email but got no answer. I contacted a local company, Atlantic Appliance Repair ***) to fix the dryer. Please get in touch with them and sort out the payment. Let me know soon. Thanks. Note: The *** website & contract says I can hire my own repair person and they'll pay 'em directly. This is my first time dealin' with this company. They take my monthly premiums but don't give me no receipt or acknowledgment. It's real strange. Tell 'em to talk to customers in a professional way. Also, the *** website don't work -- I got an account but couldn't log in. I asked for a password reset many times in the last two months but never got the link.

I bought a one year diamond home warranty plan from Home Protection of America in March 2022. I tried to file a claim on December 24, 2022 for busted water pipes. Nobody answered the phone when I called. I left a bunch of messages and even emailed the claims department, but they never got back to me. I kept calling from December 24, 2022 to December 27, 2022. Finally, four days later on December 27, 2022, I got through to the claims department. I told them about the broken water pipes. They told me to call my insurance company because they weren't gonna cover it. But the plan clearly says that water pipes are covered. I had to hire a contractor and pay for the repairs myself. Home Protection of America doesn't keep their promises. Getting a home warranty plan from them for my new house was a total waste of money. I regret giving them my business and my hard-earned cash. I really think homeowners should save their time and money and not deal with this shady company.

1/12/2022 I got a home warranty contract with Home Protection of America for $59.00 per month. They charged my credit card every month. I called HPOA on Saturday, November 26, 2022 to start a repair claim because my refrigerator was leaking water all over my kitchen floor. I couldn't reach a customer administrator to start the claim and ask for help, even though I left five messages throughout the whole day. They didn't call me back and I also emailed them, but they didn't respond to my emails either. I want a full refund for the 11 months of $59.00 payments because HPOA won't contact me to start a repair claim. I have a home warranty with them, but they won't work with me or talk to me. So, I have to cancel the contract and I've scheduled a repair service for a date in the near future that will probably cost me more than the $649.00 I've already paid for their services. I don't understand why they won't respond to my messages, which were polite and professional. I didn't harass or complain in my messages. The person I emailed hasn't replied to any of my emails, so now I have to handle a covered repair on my own, according to the terms of my contract.
