Holiday Inn review: Holiday Inn Riverview Charleston SC

We stayed at this hotel 12/28 - 01/02/21 ; we had 2 rooms, 5 of us. We booked the room because of balcony and were told they were "fake" balconies because of an incident a few years ago. We were supposed to have river view and instead had view of waffle house and swampy parking lot. The whole time we were there we had to clean our own room, get supplies from the front desk daily like toilet paper, towels, soap, shampoo, coffee pods, cups, trash bag, etc. The antibacterial containers in elevators were empty the whole time we were there, although in the lobby they did work. Coffee was only available in the lobby in the mornings. The air would go out in the middle of the night and you sweated to death until it kicked back on. The beds were comfortable. The restaurant on roof was nice. The smoking section outside was very nice. We were told that rooms were not cleaned due to Covid, but that makes no sense whatsoever. Seems like you would want to sanitize everything more so. We enjoyed our stay in Charleston, lovely city, but when I return again I will stay somewhere else. Very disappointed that I had to clean my own room and get my own supplies, just not right. You also need to make a note on your site that balcony is for decoration only and cannot be used. I would like a credit for my stay since I did not receive the amenities promised. Thank you. Rooms 1002 and 1204.
