I know this college is already closed… good thing too. But I just like to get my story out there. I went to Heald College for Medical Assisting… BIG mistake. Mistake 1- I was told that Heald has a comprehensive career service department which will help you get your first job in your chosen career. Mistake 2- I stupidly signed myself up. Mistake 3- I didn't...

Heald College is stating I owe them 747.07 for ? How do I owe them money if I had FASFA and a Pell Grant? They keep calling my phone saying I need to pay them and if I will be coming back to their campus? HELL NO!

you must be joking right... your complaining about a piece of paper to hand on your wall. Does your transcript say that you graduated? If it does, go on Microsoft word and photo shop you a diploma. You graduated, be grateful, there are those who were in there last quarter about to finish. Ex-tern ship site, hello...

Heald College Harassment

I am complaining about the harassing collection calls and threat letters in the mail. heald college has me under a written deferment stating that I do not have to pay while I am in school. I have received emails, collection calls, and threat letters every week for two and a half years, and I am getting tired of all of it. If the emails do not stop, I will write a letter to cooperate. If the collection calls do not stop, I will force my opinion. If the threat letters do not stop, I will sue you. You can try to counter sue, but own nothing, so try me!. Stop sending me threat letters, because you would not like it if I threaten you. This is an issued complaint from a current heald student who has been there for three plus years.

STOP THE HARRASING PHONE CALLS OR GET SHUT DOWN!11

Heald College Facility, Students, Courses

I'm currently enrolled at Heald College, and I hate it. They promised a "hands on" experience, which I am not getting. They only care about the money, They don't care about there students. The teachers are rude and are always late to class. Very unprofessional as the student body goes its very diverse . I feel like my adviser coned me. Now I have this huge debt, and I'm only 18. They're the most unprofessional college. They don't even make you take the higher English and Math classes, they focus on only your major, and that whole "help getting a job after graduation" is a sham. Once your out they don't care. Going to Heald was a horrible choice. I'm paying just as much or even more than it would to cost me to go to a university, and I'm not even getting the education that I'm paying for.

THEY JUST DISMISSED ME FROM SCHOOL! 2 WEEKS INTO MY FINAL QUARTER FOR MY AA DEGREE! I feel utterly blindsided and robbed. I never got a warning, never filled out a disciplinary action plan, probation, or was told anything about this! I am in my very last quarter before I graduate AA. Today (week 3) I was on my way to class when I was called to academics to ultimately be dismissed from the school all together! WTF! I'm shocked, confused, lost, and feel that I was robbed! Now thousands of dollars in debt racked onto my already large debt with DEPT of Ed. For this AA degree and yet I get 1 quarter away from graduating, they literally sweep the rug out from under me and cast me away. What do I do now?

I know exactly how you feel. I filed a complaint against them, got involved in a Class Action Law suit, gave legal documents to the Attorney General, and now i have to find an arbitration attorney. I have no education, no degree, no career, no opportunities, just debt from Heald College.

Heald College bad at reading the situation of their students

i am in a graduating student but heald college dropped me without a good reason. at first i was fixing all the papers i needed for my extern but their adviser for this doesn't know how to read our (students) medical records she still a little notes from our physicians. after this she put me in a place to do my extern but they did not call me when to get my interview ans such.i waited for their call but nothing received. i tried calling them instead but they told me to call me back later but nothing received too. My other classmates already their interviews and they already started. i got pissed off. i got a planned that when doing my extern and going to school and have at work at the same time. i applied to another job that have grave yard. finally, they called me and on the spot they told to start already working at swing shift. for this i sacrifice my school by not attending my classes (not yet started my extern). i have many billsto pay for and im independent i dont have any family that will help me with my expenses. but this tupid and inconsiderate school dropped me without understanding my reasons. obviously they didn't experience such thing like struggling. they destroyed my school records and needed to delay my graduation. these people dont know how to listen to their students especially having a hard time struggling. student services sucks and their advisor for extern. it sucks. i recommended my friends to go here but they pissed meoff so i won't let them enter this school. inconsiderate people. how's your pocket doing huh? i only absent for four days and you even counted the 10 days that i dont have classes even the sturdays and sundays? are we going pay for that too?huh?!huh?!we are the one should dropped our classes its our money not yours... i have good grades and YOU MESSED WITH IT! I graduated from heald salinas about six months into my progrm I noticed discrepancies on my student ledger $536 call grant came in to my acount and they entered it a balance instead of a credit when brought to their attention they said they sent it back to call grant because I didnt qualify for it .I contacted call grant and asked if this was the case call grant confirmed payment disbursed to my student acount and confirmed there have been no funds returned to call grant nor should there be .and adviced me ..to talk to financial aide at my school for mor info. That got me no where all they did was send me back and forth from the buisness office to financial aid giving me different and misleading info every time...I even talked to the Deen and management of both departments not to mention corporate office ..Transations on my student ledger concerning loans, grants, and student refund amounts and dates continued to be fraudulent and I have the print outs to prove it .After showing my documentaion to the businesses manager and the deen all of a sudden my student ledger was notin chronological order and the format and text was changed . Heald College frauded my student acount at least $3000 from what I can figure and show proof coinciding with documentation from fasa, call grant, my student loans and pell grant amounts and dates of disbursement of funds to show Heald college financial aide and business office "book store " are scandalous crooks.

I went to Heald College in April of 2008 because they were offering degree’s in Sales and Marketing. Heald College Tuition

I started school at heald in November of 2012, and I have maintained excellent grades in the two years that I have been there. Recently, I was told that Part-time students would be charged more for classes and that full-time students would be charged less as an insintive for moving along faster with their education. When I started I was told that my tuition would be covered. I made it clear that I would not be able to pay any out of pocket expenses but here I am two years later and $1255 in debt to these people. I have watched students rarely show up or show up completely late and still pass with better grades then me. I have seen students fail to turn in their final, which is counted for almost half the grade, and still pass the class. In one class I had, out of 9 students only me and another student turned in our final, the teacher was dismayed about it, so I spoke up and told her that those who didn't turn in their final should and deserve a failing grade, not only was it fair but also ethical. I later was astonished that these students all passed. I had to work really hard for all of my grades and to see people just fly by is gross and sickening. I have witnessed how a women in our paralegal program was late to almost every class, and not just late but almost an hour late, she was placed in an internship and was hired. This is not cool for those of us who have been working extra hard just to prove we have what it takes to be a college student. Someone need to put a stop to the way Heald College is doing things. If anyone knows of a way to stop this insanity then email me at [protected]@gmail.com. If we are paying top dollar for this education then we should get top dollar treatment.

Heald College Hiring process

They lead you on and pull you through hoops tool never receive a call back. I went too the group interview and was called back for an interview. The director of admissions advisers told me she only called back myself and another gentleman. Went through 3 days of interviews, one phone screening and the background check. I received a copy of the background check the Same morning they did and called to get an update and was told by the director that she'd call me back and never did. I know for a fact my background check was clear and I know for a fact my test call went well, so why was it so hard for someone to call and say hey we discriminate and went with another candidate instead of leaving me hanging, very unprofessional

Doesn't it make you wonder if t was just a ploy to make you think you were up the job? Who were they interviewing for? Did they tell you what company was hiring? That process just seems as it's part of the misleading. I hope you tell your experience to the Attorney General and Jerry Brown's website. They need to be held accountable for what they are doing to people.I went to Heald College, no job, no degree, no career, no opportunities just debt. I am getting to the end of my rope. Because I have no way out! I was not expecting them to find a job for me. I was online 24/7, I never got any referrals to hiring companies. I only experience harassment and eventually had no choice but to leave. I graduated there and there was no job lifetime placement

You know I couldn't agree with you more they said they were in need of someone in customer service at Concord Heald, and I aced all the interviews did everything I was suppose to my referral even told me that I was the top candidate for this position, but it came down to one person's overall judgement, and during the interview she (the person who makes the final judgement) said something really funny I thought to myself. In the interview she said that now upfront its a couple girls that work in customer service that she's looking for someone that could joke with them and get along. I didn't hear back from anyone after that second interview, and a couple days later I saw another woman working the front desk. Now I think that's sexism, I assure you without going through details I was more qualify for that position than any other, but since God gave me a difference gender I wasn't able to fill her position.

How did they discriminate? How do you know that the other applicant wasn't better qualified for the job or had a better second interview than you? You don't know for certain why you weren't hired.

Heald College Scam with Financial Aid

While this school had a few teachers that genuinely cared for the students it ultimately has an admissions staff and finacial aid department that are full of crap!it's quite obvious this school only cares about getting money.after going to school here for nine months with straight a's I have to drop my program. I go to refinance for financial aid and am told that I don't qualify for any financial aid?but I did nine months ago!the school is asking me to pay them ten thousand dollars to be a full time student. That's right I would have to make payments of at least 800 dollars a month to go to this school. If I had that type of money to drop monthly I wouldn't be in school now would I?of course they are able to adjust the cost if I go part time which would mean more time at the school thus even more money for these crooks.no way!I'm done.and how these people live with taking advantage of people that are actually trying to make a better life for themselves is beyond me.these heartless crooks are going to burn in hell! Do yourself a favor and do not enroll in this joke of a school.

all of these people who have complaints NEED to contact the department of education! SERIOUSLY we can do something about the scams this college is doing. IF enough people report them to the department of education I think this college could get into huge trouble for the ### that they are pulling. I ALSO WENT THROUGH THAT BULL ###. The department of education's phone number is [protected]. That phone number will get you to at least a voice mail of a woman. Leave a message about how you need to speak to someone in the department of education concerning Heald college with your name and phone number. Then talk to a lady or gentlemen over there and explain all the unscrupulous behavior that has taken place! Please call it isn't fair for those after you to be taken advantage of in the same manner. Heald College Quality Education

If you are looking to be an instructor bypass Heald College. They will hand you a WASC accredited college level textbook and syllabus tell you to teach college level transferable course. When the students cannot handle a typical college workload they demand that you lower the standard...the standard they provided you on the first day of the job and continue to ask you to lower the standard until what you are teaching is a high school level AP course that they are selling to unsuspecting students as a college level CSU transferable course. Meanwhile you as an instructor are on the hook for being responsible to provide a college level course while your bosses (who will not put their requests to lower the standards in writing) can blame the teacher for not teaching the Heald provided syllabus and text if they get called on it.
If you are unethical and can sit by and watch students pay a high price for very little..Heald is for you. If you are a student you are not getting the education they have advertised or recruited you for. Save your money - go to junior college and get an education. It may take a little longer but if you ever go on to get degree you will need to retake many of your Heald classes because wisely many college have learned a Heald education isn't worth the paper your degree is printed on and therefore overall the time you spend in college will be much longer.

Heald College Unfair Hiring Practrices

I recently applied for a Criminal Justice instructor position at Healds San Jose location. I have worked in law enforcement for 30 years, and hold a Community College Life Time Teaching Credential. The interview was going fine, until 10 minutes into the interview, when an Administrator by the name of "Nelly" enters the room. She doesn't introduce herself, simply looks at my Resume, then states, "your not qualified, you don't have a BA degree". I explained to her that The Creditial meets all of their MQ's, plus they have other locations that employ instructors with said creditials. She then stated she was late for another appointment, then left. The two original interview members went from basically giving me a job, to the excuse that they don't have any jobs avaiable. I explained that I have taught (39 different subject matters) for 10 years at our academy, have a paralegal certicificate, was in politics for 8 years, and wrote and implemented our departments Use of Force policy statewide, not only was I qualified, but met the MQ's per the Chancellor's office of Community Colleges for the state of California.. They could have cared less. Ms. Nelly set the tone. Whats really too bad is that they are supposed to be an Equal opportunity Employer, but they don't even follow their own hiring practrices, nor know what they are. Unfortunately, their students suffer from not having instructors with actual field and real lifetime experience vs having some 22 year old instructor that is wet behind the ears, and knows nothing about real life, yet alone the subject matter they are teaching. To top it off, Heald only pays a little more than minimum wage.. No wonder they can't get experienced staff. Disappointed... Signed Wayne F

I spent money on lunch when I was hungry And turn out all of it was a lie, not very nice!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
FOR CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES
For most of you, minimum qualifications (MQ) will be a simple matter. For instance, if you wish to teach
U.S. History and you possess a master’s degree in U.S. History, there is no doubt that you qualify to pass
the first hurdle of employment—meeting the educational MQ for the position.
As you surf through the job announcements in the Registry, you should find the educational requirements in
that section of each college’s position description. Generally, there are two groups of educational MQs:
those for academic positions and those for vocational positions. Since the bulk of positions are in the
academic areas, we will discuss those first.
The MQs cited in the position announcement generally follow the following pattern:
1) Possession of a Master’s Degree (or PhD) in the discipline, with those acceptable discipline titles
determined by the Statewide Academic Senate; or
2) Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in the discipline and a Master’s in a related field, again
determined by the Senate; or
3) Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the
discipline; or
4) Possession of qualifications different from, but equivalent to, those listed on the discipline list,
according to criteria and procedures agreed upon by the governing board (of the institution) and
the academic senate.
Most of you fit the MQs in items 1 or 2. My description of this fit is a “slam dunk.” You should jump over
the first hurdle with no problem. Technically and academically, you fill the basic qualifications of the
position. (You may skip the next few paragraphs; but, take a look at the “hidden” MQ after those
paragraphs.)
Roughly 5% of you can qualify under item 3. Sorry, the issuance of California Community College
Credentials was terminated on July 1, 1990. Those that have not expired are still valid; but, no new
credentials can be issued, meaning you must qualify under items 1, 2 or 4. (If you hold a valid credential
and have lost it, a replacement can be acquired through the Chancellor’s Office, California Community

Note their other locations allow Life Time teaching Creditial, check it out. If you have one prior to 7-1-90, it is same as minimum MQ's.. They can't hire at one location, then set different standards for another one. Heald, is Heald..

You may have just been to uneducated and just plain
Stupid to meet the minimum requirements to be a student there.
Try learning how to spell, and use proper English. Oh nevermind, you were probably kicked out before you could take a writing class.

Yes, Heald drops students due to attendance. It's in the student handbook, and students are told this at orientation.

Also, you may want to pay attention to what Really? said. just sayin'

Heald College They care more for $$$ than helping u

if YOU decide to go to heald college..think again...U MUST READ THIS!

IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE GOING TO HEALD!

Their advisor will tell U any lie to get you in. PLEASE NOTE: The ADVISOR are the salesman...salesman tells lie...
--The advisor told me I can take a leave of absense no matter the situation.
--I can change from morining class to night class if anything comes up.
--I can take online class.
--I can get a $100 gas card if I refer a friend.
--I can get my degree in 2 years.

ALL ARE LIES!
--The advisor lied about being able to take a leave of absense (LOA) for the quarter. The only reason your program director can grant u a LOA is w/dr. note or military duty...ADVISOR=LIERS!

--I can't change from moring to night class...because all morning classes are FULL. The only time I can get in the morining class is IF there's an opening, that's what the student services told me...PRETTY STUPID HE SOUNDS LIKE HE DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO HELP ME.

--Yes, i can take online class if they cannot work w/my work schedule...BUT IT COST $125 more per class and per quarter..., which your loans or finanal aid doesn't cover...WHICH THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THAT IT WILL NOT COVER! These are the hidden fee! BEWARE. out of my pocket in a year i own $1300.
--i refer a friend to heald and was "suppose" to get my $100 gas card...BUT NO...everytime I ask them about it their excuse is "we ran out but we'll place a order for you." ###! LIERS! they just want more $$$ to come in but doesn't follow through w/their words! !LIERS! i ASK couple of students and they were given the same excuse.

--after graducating...i have to come back for another year to get my degree. This is how they keep you coming back so their $$$ keeps coming in...SUCH LIERS! the 2 years that i was working so freaking hard was to get an "applied in learning degree"--meaning brain knowlegde only...not a degree !

So with a total of $27, 000 in loan that i own, now i still have to go back to get my degree, which will total up to $35, 000. That's only LOANS! they have so many hidden fees that they won't tell you about n those hidden fees have to b pay out of your pocket.

For example, if you take a LOA "before' the quarter ends you will own then thousand of dollars. They don't want to help you. If you don't know and choose to take the LOA during the quarter and when you decide to come back there will be a huge amount of bills you'll have to pay b4 re-enrolling. When you talk to them, they won't give you better suggestion like "it's best if you finish the quarter first b4 taking the LOA, that way you won't own any $$." BUT NO! THE MORE YOU OWN THEM...THE MORE $$$ THEY GETS.

HEALD COLLEGE IS NOT ABOUT HELPING YOU GET A BETTER FUTURE...IT'S ABOUT GETTING MORE $$$ IN AND CONTINUE MAKING MORE $$$ TO COME IN...

Hello to everyone in here who have been victimized by Heald. I also atteded Heald in 2017 to 2017 and didn't get my degree due to a big misunderstandings, confusion, and lies by ALL staff from Heald. I am not going to go through the whole story because it just angers me to much. All I can say is that now I owe over $2, 000 to Heald and they are now in collection, on top of my $15, 000 student loans. I did exit Heald not owing them a dime and all my loans where through Citi Bank. How did they come up with me owing them over $2, 000?
I am going to talk to a lawyer and will like for your support, if anyone here would like to join me and get answers please email me at mailforyou_719@yahoo.com. I appreciate it and God bless.

I enrolled in June and was given a set amount for tuition and I was told that I would have a set amount and that it would not go up. However I was told this quarter that my tuition would be increasing and there is nothing I can do about it. The guy who advised me it would not go up has been terminated for the false information. My number is [protected]

I have had the hardest time trying to get information on my financial aid, first I was told that my second quarter I over spent so I wasn't going to get financial aid so I said ok. My third quater was never processed and who knows what's happening with my fourth and fifth quarters. When I requested my excess funds back (in Oct.) I was told it would take 10 weeks to receive it well here we are almost feburary and still nothing! I would not recommend Heald to anyone now I'm stuck playing back and forth with the financial aid department not knowing what to do. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to hearing it.

I rely on my excess loans to get me by through the three months that I am in school.. bills gas food etc. I was expecting a refund check and when I went to inquire about when I should expect it or if there was anything I should do, they said I was fine and would get some back (First week of July 2017 quarter). I went this week on Monday and they told me that I OWED money and that I would not be receiving money back at all. I got my electricity turned off, I have no way of paying for gas, and I WAS NEVER GIVEN AN OPTION TO STAYW ITH HEALD OR GO TO ANOTHER COLLEGE BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE! I WAS NEVER EVEN TOLD until I went to pick up my check. Very sad. I am now on the verge of being homeless and all they can do is tell me to call a 800 number for the care program but another student I know got a refund check of 1, 600. Really sad. Please let me know what it is that I did to get treated this way because I really am interested. I don't feel like this is a personal attack, no, but I do feel that if they were more in tune with students they would see that I get a large amount back and now I won't get anything they should e-mail my personal (or Heald) account to let me know or even call me. They can call me endlessly to tell me that school is starting but they can't send out an automated call informing students tuition went up? Please have someone contact me ASAP

Tuition is going up and they told me this TWO days before school starts for this quarter. I have been there since january 2017 going part time because i work full time. Now i need to postpone this quarter or pay $825-$1375 every three months. Absolutely rediculous and not what i signed up for

I attended heald college for 2 years and just graduated a month ago. In my 2 years of attendance I had multiple issues with the school.
First, I went in for my assesment and to fill out financial aid paperwork in april but told my advisor I didnt want to start til the July quarter. I never recieved a tour of the campus but I was rushed around to fill out financial aid and take the assesment tests. They enrolled me full time for april quarter (should of been july) and after a phone call in late may asking why I didnt show up to my classes, I had to argue this for over 4 months to clear it up and be refunded and reset my GPA. I was given backpack and school supplies and almost died of stick shock when i saw how badly they rip off us students!
Secondly, depending on your loans, you recieve a check every quarter and i didnt recieve my 2nd quarter check til 4th quarter. I needed to take a break from school so i filled out all the paperwork 2 weeks early and was reassured multiple times that it would not effect my 4.0 GPA. So I come back after my quarter off to find 5 F's on my transcript and a 3.5 GPS because one teacher said that i attended one of her classes (upon meeting with this teacher she stated she never seen me before) I made Heald college remove the F's and reset my GPA to 4.0 (again!) When I came back from my break I was told i had to sign a attendence agreement and pay $100.00 out of pocket(out of $800.00 total) until they figured things out beacuse of my recent 5 F's on my transcript. A few weeks later I look at my transcript to find that they changed my F's to Withdraws (withdraws=you showed up to a class and dropped out for no reason) which potential employer take it as a sign of unresponsible/lazy/unreliable person! So that was another couple months argument that I made them correct and was told I couldnt recieve my $100.00 until i get my NEXT quarters check.
Last but not least, on 2 different occasions I had to talk with my advisor that the a few of the classes that they scheduled me for, I not only already took, but i got 100% in all those classes!
I am almost ashamed to put them on my resume and I would encourage ANYONE who is condisering heald college to re-consider! MTI was voted the best Vocational College for a reason and have a 91% job placement rate! Heald is actually the most expensive vocational college with the worst reputation and job placement rate.
