Since my last entry, I have received 419 more emails from people that I have helped and 186 new emails from those wanting assistance with locating furniture at 1/3 or lower the price of Havertys. The total amount of people contacting me about their savings was over 1, 000. The savings by consumers was far below the amount I originaly predicited. Just by the numbers presented to me by those choosing not to purchase from Havertys, those comsumers saved on average of $3, 500.00. Lets do the correct math. We will use a low number also to reflect those from the 186 email bracket. If 700 people saved on average $2, 000.00, Havertys lost a minimum of $1, 400, 000.00. That savings was passed directly to those consumers choosing to believe they could get a better deal for the same product elsewhere. The day will come when Havertys will have to take this matter seriously and be prepared to be judged not just on their ridiculosly high prices but the lies concerning quality, protection plans and foolish delivery charges. I challenge everyone to think before you buy. Why pay more for the same product just because it came from Havertys. You can save thousands of dollars. The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We purchased two recliners, $1.000 each. I was told if we purchased the gaurdsman protection that they would cover everything. That was $249.00. Our recliners started showing leather peeling . I contacted Haverty's, they said call gaurdsman they took over two weeks to send forms to fill out. I filled them out and then was told I waited to long to report it. Frustrated I contacted Haverty's so sorry they said.
I will never purchase another piece of furniture from them again. They should have at least refunded the money I spent on the warranty which was useless. Their is clearly a defect of the leather. They were sent pictures.
Haverty's 's in San Antonio, do not buy from them. They do not back the furniture they sell!
I am disabled and I need a new bed. My husband and I went to havertys to look at beds. The lady that was helping us was very nice, but since it would cost us so much I wanted to check the blogs to see what people had to say. I told my husband from the get-go that havertys was way over-priced but I met him there and I fell in love with bed.( I have had several surgeries and have rhumatiod arthritis) The bed is a tempur-pedic and it is a floor model for a discounted price of $1, 124.00. I sit at my computer and I am floored at all the nightmares the public have had. The lady who helped us even insisted that we check the internet for con and pro comments about havertys furniture. I have never owner a new bed and need one bad. Can anyone give me an idea as to what to do or where to go to find a good bed and recliner at a good price. I live in Pensacola Florida and I really do not know where to go...
Everything Havertys sells is over-priced junk. I'd go to Rooms-To-Go and pay way less for the same products. It all comes from China, some ok, some not ok. If you want to buy a sofa, demand the sales rep flip it over and look at the construction. You will see cardboard and recycled pallets used for the build. It all looks great on the outside, but that's just a fasad, fake. When the sales person says "It's solid wood" it's solid partical board, "engineered-wood" as it's called in the industry, again junk.

This is absolutely not true. All of Havertys fabric sofas, etc are built in USA. Most leathers do come from overseas plants. If this person actually did flip over ANY piece of furniture at Havertys, they would NEVER see pallet wood or cardboard. Kiln dried hardwood frames is the norm. Only one piece that I know of that even has particle board on the side panels. Run on down to La-Z-Boy and try out their click click click mechanism that warps and bends after a couple of years. ( I have replaced dozens when I sold them). Havertys uses Leggit and Platt mechanisms in ALL reclining pieces regardless of price. Strong and quiet. Go right on up to Rooms to Go and press in on any side of a sofa or chair and feel that fabric stretched over an open square. All of Havertys have solid wood sides with padding and then the fabric. For the price that Havertys charges, you are welcome to shop at a high end furniture retailer for the same quality at double the price. Bottom line...don't believe these complaint boards without going and seeing for yourself.
WE BOUGHT FURNITURE FOR OUR HOME AFTER HEARING THAT MY HUSBAND'S CANCER HAD SPREAD AND WE WANTED TO MAKE THE LIVING ROOM AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE SINCE WE WOULD BE SPENDING ALOT OF TIME AT HOME. CUTTING TO THE CHASE: TWO SOFA'S AND A "CHAIR & A HALF" OVERSIZED RECLINER WE REGRET THE PURCHASE. THE SOFA'S DELIVERIES WERE A NIGHTMARE, 2 RETURNS LATER AND THEY HAVE A WEIRD APPEARANCE AS FAR AS SPACING IN BETWEEN SECTIONS. THE CHAIR WAS COMPLETLY REBUILT AT OUR HOME WITH REFRAMING AND RECOVING ALL THIS WITHIN 9 MONTHS OF PURCHASE. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER FIXING THE CHAIR IT HAS A LARGE SAG IN THE SEAT. MY HUSBAND IS NOT A FAT/HEAVY PERSON AND IS THE ONLY ONE WHO SITS IN THIS CHAIR. AFTER CALLING HAVERTY'S AGAIN THE REPAIR MAN CAME OUT, BOUNCED AROUND IN THE CHAIR AND TOLD MY HUSBAND THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND FURNITURE "SETTLES" ! I'M PISSED. THIS IS A DISGRACE AND I WANT OTHERS TO KNOW TO BEWARE OF THE HAVERTY'S NAPLES FLORIDA STOREL
