I placed an online order with HardwareDistributors.com for a case of a specific cleaning product. I paid for this order via Paypal. The company shipped a case of an entirely different item to me. I expressed my wishes to exchange the shipment for the correct item I initially ordered in the first place. The owner of Hardware Distributors stated he would get back to me A.S.A.P. to notify me if the item I ordered was, indeed, in stock. I never heard back from him. I then requested to simply return the case of the wrong item shipped me. I asked for a pre-paid return shipping label, since it was not even the item I ordered. The owner of HardwareDistributors.com denied this request. He told me to ship back the merchandise and he would provide me with a full refund, including my return shipping charges, whatever the cost, stating that I "had his word" that he would provide me a full and complete refund. Return shipping for the case of the incorrect item he sent me was $36.00. I returned the case of the item at my expense and the owner did not provide me with a refund of return shipping. I have full correspondence regarding this transaction.
I forgot to include this in my posting: does anyone on the board know how I might proceed in trying to get reimbursed from HardwareDistributors.com for the $36 I paid in return shipping? Thank you in advance.
I would file a BBB case and a case with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). It looks like hardwaredistributors.com has a bunch of complaints against them. Seems like a really bad place to get involved with. Good luck!
File a case for Hardware Distributors with the Better Business Bureau. Maybe appeal the case through Paypal. The company sounds super shady.
