Hamad International Airport review: Stolen money

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to report an incident that occurred during my transit through Hamad International Airport in Doha on 18 September 2025. Although I understand that considerable time has passed and I may not be able to recover the missing money, I believe it is important to bring this matter to your attention so that it can be reviewed and, if necessary, investigated.
On that day, I was traveling with Qatar Airways from India and was connecting at Hamad International Airport. I arrived on Qatar Airways Flight QR573 and was transferring to Qatar Airways Flight QR739.
While going through the transfer security checkpoint, I was instructed by the security officers to remove my money belt. They took it to a counter for examination while I waited. This was the only time during my entire journey that my money belt was out of my possession.
Before my trip, I had carefully counted the cash I was carrying. I had US$1,400 in my money belt. After I returned home, I counted the money again and discovered that only US$1,200 remained. US$200 was missing.
I cannot state with certainty what happened to the missing cash, nor do I wish to make an accusation against any individual without proof. However, the only occasion when my money belt was removed from my possession was during the security screening at Hamad International Airport. For this reason, I believe it is appropriate to report this incident.
My purpose in writing is not primarily to seek reimbursement (although I wish I could), as I realize that nearly a year has passed. Rather, I hope the airport authority will be aware of my experience and review whether similar complaints have been received. If there are any issues with procedures or misconduct by personnel, I hope appropriate measures can be taken to protect future travelers.
