Don’t deal with the scammers from the website www. Greentoe.com. I registered on the website and wanted to by some things, but after i offered my price, these jerks started to take this sum from me. They didn’t inform me as well as they ignored my emails. Scam, scam, so be careful if you deal with them and post comments about your experience with them. Really horrible company and someone must stop them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I want to add that after contacting Greentoe, they did work with me for an adjustment.
The final price I paid was $50 less then the new retail price for the camera, a discount a little less than 3%.
With the Greentoe process there is no price protection. This happened to me when using Greentoe for a camera purchase.
Placed an offer on a Friday, over the weekend it was accepted and credit card was charged.
On Monday the manufacturer lowered the retail price of the camera by $200, so my "deal" was now the full price.
I agree with digitallaurora that the complaint from Cobos is baseless. I have had nothing but good service from both Greentoe.com and the companies that fulfill the orders. I have had multiple dealings with the company including personal emails from Joe Marrapodi (co-founder) asking me about my experience and service. Joe wanted to make sure that my buying experience was flawless and what I expected. I highly recommend this company for anyone that wants to save money. All my offers have not been accepted but I have gotten counter offers. The transactions with Greentoe.com are simple. Make an offer and be prepared to pay when the offer is accepted. The system is explained up front and is very simple. If your offer is accepted your credit card is debited for the amount you offered, no more, no less.
Complaint from Cobos is baseless. If your price is not met, they will not charge you. My price was not met and they offered me if I could match the price which was couple of dollars less from they were offering, they could close the deal. However, I was not ready to pay and transaction was never carried out.
I don't even understand what the complaint was. You "offered a price" and they "took the sum away" from you? The first part I get. The second I don't. You make an offer, a retailer either accepts or not. And I think the website will tell you to try a higher number if they know the bid won't go through. And not all of them do.
Did your price get met and you never got the merchandise? Did you get merchandise and it wasn't what you ordered? What's the "scam" you are complaining about exactly? Sounds like maybe you don't know how the site works...?
