I regularly order office pantry supplies through GrabMart (Jaya Grocer), but almost every time, I end up being scolded or complained to by the delivery riders about the number of items they have to carry on their bikes. From their perspective, I should have selected a car for the delivery, but the problem is, there’s no option for me to choose the type of vehicle during checkout.
I even contacted Grab support during one of my orders to request a switch from bike to car, and I was told that the system automatically assigns the appropriate vehicle based on the order size. If that’s the case, why are riders still being assigned large orders they clearly find difficult to handle?
I understand the riders’ frustration, but if they choose to accept the order, it’s unfair to take it out on the customer. I hope Grab can improve this process, either by giving customers the option to select a vehicle or by ensuring that large orders are only assigned to cars. No one should be made to feel bad for placing a legitimate order.
Recommendation: I hope Grab can improve this process, either by giving customers the option to select a vehicle or by ensuring that large orders are only assigned to cars.
