I recently bought some pork shanks from Gourmet Food Store and I gotta say, I was a bit disappointed with my purchase. I ordered the 6-pack, but when they arrived, they were all frozen together in one big package. I was expecting them to be individually wrapped like they were on a different site I ordered from before.

I mean, come on, Gourmet Food Store, how am I supposed to know that the 6-pack means they're all in one package? That's way too many for me to use at once. Now I have to go through the hassle of defrosting them, repackaging them, and refreezing them.

Overall, I'm not too happy with my experience. I wish they had made it clearer that the pork shanks would come in one big package. It's just not practical for someone like me who doesn't need that many at once.

I heard about Gourmet Food Store from my buddies in the U.S. They were all hyped up about it, saying you can get all sorts of fancy food from there - like truffles, cheese, and even foie gras (which some folks don't like). I was curious, so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to get some cheese and oils, but when I tried to place my order, I found out they don't ship to Canada. What a bummer!

Despite that setback, I still think the site is pretty cool. It's got a really nice layout, and they give you lots of info about each product. I especially like how they have pictures of everything, so you can see what you're getting. I just wish they could ship to Canada, too.

If any of you know of a similar site that does ship to Canada, please hit me up. I'm still on the hunt for some fancy cheese and oils!

So, we ordered some white alba truffles from Gourmet Food Store and when we got them, we put them in a cool place overnight without opening the box. The next day, we opened the box and the truffles had gone bad. We called the store and they said we didn't follow the storage instructions, which were to put them in the fridge. We were like, "Okay, but it was just overnight in a cool place, so why did they go bad?" And get this, there was no label on the container that said to put it in the fridge. The store's response was that it was on their website. Like, seriously? Is that good customer service? Shouldn't there be a label on the box for an expensive item that says to store it at 4C or refrigerate upon arrival? They wouldn't even replace them for us. So, we're pretty disappointed with Gourmet Food Store.

I've been ordering from Gourmet Food Store for a while now, but I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon. They get their orders fulfilled by different butchers in different cities, which can be a bit of a hit or miss. I live in Phoenix, and I've had my orders fulfilled by butchers in Seattle before, which were pretty good. However, my latest order was filled by a butcher in Los Angeles, and it was a bit of a disaster.

I ordered some steaks that were supposed to be cut to order and 1 inch thick. However, when I received my order, I was disappointed to find that a third of the steaks were so small that they could only be served as appetizers. I'm talking about steaks that were only 2 1/2 inches by 2 inches and 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches, and they were only 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. The same steaks that I've ordered before were a decent size, more like what you would expect from a beef tenderloin steak. It's almost like they came from the end of a section of tenderloin. To make matters worse, I ordered 6 pounds of steaks, but I only received 4 pounds.

I tried to contact Gourmet Food Store by sending two emails to ***@GourmetFoodStore.com, but I didn't get a single reply. It's frustrating when you don't get a response from a company, especially when you have a problem with your order.

In the future, I think I'll be avoiding Gourmet Food Store like the plague (or pandemic), and I suggest that you do too. It's just not worth the hassle when you can't even get a decent response from customer service.
