I was involved in a motorcycle accident on 7/19/26. I was discharged from in-patient rehabilitation on 8/1/26. My disabled parking placard was processed and accepted on 8/4/2026 by the Harris county tax collector/assessor. For this readers information, the Harris County Tax Collector/Assessor processed this placard request in 5 minutes. Your company has taken 8 days to process a very simple request.
I sent a reasonable accommodations request on 8/4/26. Since then, I have spoken to 3 property managers, none of which have said they are able to do anything about the processing of this request and it is done by corporate. I’ve made these three separate calls to check on the processing status of this request and have gotten zero information in return. Mind you, this request is simply to be allowed to park in a reserved parking spot that is not currently in use by anyone other than the maintenance workers.
I do not have a safe place to enter and exit my vehicle as the only adequate space for me to manage my wheelchair is in the driveway where other drivers get annoyed and zoom around me as I’m entering exiting. That is dangerous and could potentially cause further injury to myself potentially due to your companies negligence in handling this matter.
Because this request has taken so long for someone to read and give clearance for (6 short paragraphs and 2 attachments), myself and my attorney are beginning to look into ADA Compliance regulations and the potential for litigation on your negligent mishandling of this reasonable accommodations request.
Please call me at [protected] to quickly resolve this before further steps shall be taken.
Desired outcome: Permission to park in a reserved parking spot that is not currently in use by anyone other than maintenance workers.
