Freemake (freemake.com) is not a trustworthy website. I made the mistake of using their services and at first, it seemed like a free trial. However, before I knew it, they were asking for a payment of 0.95 Euros. I thought it was a one-time payment for a single use subscription. Little did I know, they charged 39:95 Euros to my bank card without notifying me.

I was very unhappy and contacted them immediately through their transaction company called FASTSPRING BV. To my utter shock, they informed me that I had subscribed to a three year user term and they could not provide me with a refund. I'm still upset about this and can't believe that these online scammers continue to rob vulnerable customers.

It's important to spread the word and let other people know about my unpleasant experience with Freemake. Don't be fooled by their seemingly attractive offers and services. Stay away from them at all costs if you don't want to experience the same disappointment and frustration that I went through.

When it comes to downloading Freemake Video, you need to be extra cautious. While it is advertised as a free tool, it is nothing but a trap. The developers of the tool will plant a large logo on your converted videos, and the only way to remove it is by paying a fee. I gotta say, Freemake is a pretty cool software. It's got a lot of updates, man. Like, probably way more than any other software I've used. The only problem with all these updates is that it nags you all the time. Like, come on dude, give me a break!

Overall, I'd say Freemake is pretty decent. The Video Converter is definitely worth checking out if you need to convert some videos. The other software they offer is okay, but they all constantly nag you to update, which is annoying. Like, can't you just update it once in a while? Ain't nobody got time to update every five minutes. Anyway, if you're looking for a decent video converter, give Freemake a shot.

In the past, I barely had to update Freemake, but that's certainly not the case now. If I don't download the new updates frequently, the program will undoubtedly crash. The trouble is, I never know exactly what features I'm getting with each update, so it's frustrating.

It's such a shame because Freemake used to be a genuinely useful and amazing program. Nonetheless, the company's new business tactics feel like blackmail, and it's an unnecessary hassle.

I think it's crucial for everyone to be wary of freemake.com. Luckily, I didn't have enough funds in my account at the time for the debit to process successfully. Thankfully, Paypal allows me to cancel any repeat payments.

What I found strange was that somehow, freemake.com ended up in my Paypal account as an approved “automatic payment subscriber” even though I never approved it. I'm not saying that Freemake.com is a scam or fake, but I do recommend being cautious and double-checking their terms and processes before agreeing to or giving them any payment details. It's essential to read everything before accepting anything.

I recently decided to give Freemake Video Converter another go, after a break since January of this year. It's now October and as soon as I opened it up, I was forced into an update. I thought nothing of it, assuming it would be an improvement. However, when I attempted to convert a 30-minute video, it took a whopping 30 minutes! That's five times longer than it used to take!

I'm not sure what Freemake has done to cause this significant decrease in speed, but I will say that during the conversion process, there is a countdown timer displayed and a button below labeled "Speed Up." I have a theory that they may have slowed down the process intentionally, in order to get customers to click on this button and potentially buy their product for a faster conversion process.

In October, I also noticed a new option: when clicking on the convert button, it asked me if I wanted to convert "without logo." I selected "convert with logo" since I wasn't sure what that meant. In the past, Freemake used to place their logo at the beginning of the video, but never during the video itself.

After the 30-minute conversion, I was disappointed to see a watermark plastered throughout the entire video that read "To convert without Freemake logo, use Freemake mega pack." This is clearly a ploy to encourage users to purchase their "mega pack" in order to remove the watermark - a frustrating and counterproductive update in my opinion.

Despite previously convincing my job to purchase Freemake Video Converter, I am now considering uninstalling this program from all of my PCs. I do not appreciate companies nickel-and-diming their customers in this way, and this product no longer receives a recommendation from me. It's a disappointing decline in what used to be a good program.

That being said, I have decided to give the older version of Freemake Video Converter a try tomorrow and see if it still works as well as it did before all of these updates. I'm curious if it will allow me to use it without updating as well. Only time will tell!

This Freemake, man oh man. I downloaded all kindsa songs from their site and lemme tell ya, parts of the song just cuts off completely. You know, like silence and no sound at all? I even signed up for their Gold Pack service and still had the same issue. Like what's even the point of payin' if the songs ain't even workin'? I tried reachin' out to their customer service like a decent human being and what do you know? They flat out ignore me like I'm nobody. That's just rude, ya know? And they had this fancy shmancy update to their software but lo and behold, nothin' changed. Still had the same problem with the songs cuttin' out and then pickin' up again. Like am I listenin' to the same song or what? And don't even get me started on their converter. If I can't even listen to the song without it bein' choppy, then what's the point of convertin' it anyway? Useless, useless, useless.

Got me a "lifetime license" for Freemake back in 2019, and gotta say, I was lovin' the product. It was fast, efficient, and got the job done. But now, two years later, I can't even access the darn software without gettin' hit with a big fat reminder that I've gotta shell out $59.95 to upgrade. Ain't that some bull? I was all set to give them the brush-off, but wouldn't ya know it - they dropped the price to $19.95 soon as I tried to back out. Like, come on, guys! At least try to make your bait-and-switch routine a little less obvious.

So I caved and bought the upgrade, and what do I get? Yet another request to upgrade to their so-called "King" tier, just so I can convert some measly YouTube clips to mp3s. Are you freaking kidding me?! Ain't no way I'm doin' business with these people again. I swear, Freemake should be called Wetake, cause that's all they do - take your money and run.

Moral of the story? If you're lookin' for a reliable media converter that won't jerk you around, stick to the big guns. Freemake ain't even worth the time or the headache.

This here Freemake software is free to use but it puts a big ol' watermark right in the middle of your video, so if'n you're okay with that then knock yerself out. If not, it's gonna cost ya under $2 for a week's worth of service. It did what I needed it to do for one video. Now listen here, ya gotta make sure you cancel that trial or else they gonna reel ya in for a $40 lifetime license with no warning. So, my ol' lady tried buying one of them DVD converters from Freemake for a steep price of ?59. She ain't no computer whiz, but even she could tell that this was some shifty business. The code key they sent her was more complicated than a Rubik's cube, and she couldn't figure out how to download the darn thing. She tried to get her money back, but them Freemake folks ain't making it easy. They wanted her to take some snapshots of her computer screen to prove she didn't download it, but she's more likely to take a selfie with a polar bear than she is to figure out how to do that. Ain't these folks supposed to be the experts?

It's been a while, and she still ain't gotten her refund. Honestly, it's a dang shame that there are companies out there who would scam folks like this. So, let me tell you this, friend, don't be a sucker like us and throw your money away with these crooks.

Installed this app because it said it was gonna be free, no trial but free like always. It was pretty good for a while with its nice & easy to use interface, however, it took me quite some time to convert those 5 files. I wasted hours of my precious time & energy converting these files just to realise that their watermark is front & center middle of the screen with another line about their amazing converter & its features. What a complete waste of my time, none of those 'free' files were any use. This app certainly shouldn't have led me to believe that it was free over & over again like a broken record. They throttle down the speed so it takes hours to convert any file to trick you into giving in & throwing cash their way. Such a scam & very misleading.

Honestly, I'm not gonna waste a penny on any app like that, that just leads you on a trail of deception. It's just not worth it! Don't waste your time or money people!

When you go and look at those reviews with all the praise and admiration, make sure you check the dates first. 'Cause let me tell ya, they done went and broke this thing early in 2020, probably tryin' to take advantage of folks during the pandemic. So save yourself some time and money and just go back to your old hobbies, you hear? Ain't no need to deal with this kinda nonsense.
