Freelancer.com is scam! I have had my account suspended twice! The first time they suspended my account happened a few months ago. I had about $1000 on my account and eventually lost all the earnings (I worked as a freelancer) and got my account terminated. After some time passed I decided to register another account on Freelancer.com. Now the account is suspended again! I have earned $700 that I have had no chance to withdraw. Seems frustrating, isn't it? But I am fine :) They may have my account suspended and terminated, my money stolen, but those swindlers will not be able to steal my knowledge. Omnia mea mecum porto! :)

I will never work on Freelancer.com again because Freelancer.com is scam. Wanna lost your money and waste your time, be sure to visit Freelancer.com! :) That is what I would suggest anyone interested in working on Freelancer.com. So, stay away from it or you may end up writting your own complaints on Complaintsboard.com. ;)

    I had a long time account and was negotiations with a coder and all of sudden without warning my account was closed. I sent an email to support multiple times to resolve this issue and get a refund from my account to no avail. I was told to wait 48 hours for the right team to contact me, and no contact at 72 hours, so I sent another message to support to refund my money. Everytime you turn around they hit you with fees if you use PayPal to make deposits, then they hit you again when you create a milestone, and I understand the freelancers get hit with fees also. I am sick and tired of Free Lancer and all of the bull. If you're looking for a freelancer my advice is to steer clear of this International organization as I was warned multiple times by my bank that the funds were going through multiple international banks.

    I joined freelancer.com back in 2010 under username TRACERSA . I worked day and night to establish that profile and after so much of hard work i managed to get 787 REVIEWS, 100% completion rate, 100% on time, 100% on budget and repeat hire rate 49%

    Due to an UN INTENTIONAL violation they closed my account . They closed it with a very good TRICK, infact they cheated

    Some screenshots of my profile and support email where they said all is good and still they closed it

    let me tell all of you what happened with complete proof

    I have worked with a customer under freelancer assistance, so called a RECRUITER project and once all was done, customer reversed the payment and i asked the support to help and they said, they cannot do anything if reversal is done

    after a week same customer came with new username, i worked he did the same, i didnt knew it before he again reversed the payment and told in chat, STUPID I AM THE SAME GUY, i again informed the support and they did nothing

    3rd time again same guy came under new username and location. just to confirm it he is same person or not, i told him i will not work via freelancer i will work via SKRILL, just to test him and check so if he is the same guy he would have not agreed.

    he was not the same person, and i took the payment via freelancer, so that i dont breake the RULE, , , then after no where a month afterwards he told freelancer support that i asked him for the payment outside, though we made payment onsite, they issued me with a warning stating i should not do this again, i said sorry and they said not repeat it and i said sure and again said sorry

    then after a few days, the recruiter/support agent asked me for a skype call so that they can ask me a few questions, i did that and i was told, now all is good, i am good to work again .. i said sorry again and told them i will not repeat that mistake again and made them feel okay ..

    then he asked me a few questions which REALLY shocked me

    1- It is not possible to have such stats . there must me some thing fishy . These are his exact words ... i told that agent, my working technique is, i never accept the project, once i complete it, , customer is happy then i accept and take payment . that is the main reason i am able to have such stats

    2- He asked me, why i am taking offsite payments, i told him, proof me or send me one screenshot where i asked for outside/off site payment except on that only occasion, he had no answer to it

    NOTE: He was just trying to look for any reason to close the profile, i still dont know why

    In short after having lots of chats and tickets etc, i was told that i am all good and can continue to work . but before that i need to finish IN PROGRESS projects with perfection

    i worked days and night to finish them ASAP .. when i did and received the payments, they SIMPLY closed my account

    they claim that i violated TOS many times, just to give them an answer if they are reading, , , there is no where mention in any TOS of preferred freelancer that new task cannot be taken in new project.. i have worked or served this site for 10 years i never knew this, once they informed me i never did it . and they then keep on digging into old projects like 1 year ago... hats off to their team, they clear me or inform me today that i dont repeat this and they checking 1 year or even 2 year old project if i did in old project ... Still i paid all the fee for all projects by pointing myself to get rid of it

    In last 8 years i got 2 warning, , , which were not server as they are not clear or mentioned anywhere ... Even their preferred test dont have any such question which state NEW TASK from RECRUITER client cannot be taken in new project

    Must add this point in your test so people can be aware of this mysterious hidden rule. I can bet you all, they will never sort this issue as they are a bunch of robbers, playing with others

    Freelancer is totally scam. Its not working for Freelancers who are working hard and completes employers project and waiting to get paid but they are carefully listening to employers even they are fraud or scammers. This is third time they limited my bidding system and forcing me to refund the money to employer for the work which i already completed and get payment. After getting payment by the employer for completed work employer made a false allegations about my work via support ticket and asked support for refund and Support team without checking everything and reading my discussion with employer directly restricted my bidding system. Complete fraud platform. Not recommended also going to make people aware about my bad experience and i will post my review throughout the web..

    Attempted to steal my bank account.
    Imagine my surprise tonight when my husband and I went out to eat and my card was declined???? Immediately went home and found "Freelancer.com" had several attempts today to take money out of my bank account. Thank goodness my bank locked down my card and it is now closed. I don't have a clue how they got my information but don't trust this company. I have never had any dealings with them. I have filed a fraud complaint that will be followed up on. Crooks.

    I created freelancer account and deposited funds in the account. Funds was 200 $. From that day, I did not make any transaction. I did not hire any person, I only deposited funds.

    Yesterday they close my account and got the money by saying you have violated Clause 23.

    When I did not use my account from a week, I only deposited funds in there, How I violate the terms?

    They are playing with me and took the money, They are scammers. They are not replying on tickets. i also text them on Facebook but no hopeful response...

    I was charged $390 for a $250 project. I never received my model and contacting customer service is impossible. I filed a dispute with my cc company but it seems Freelance has done their homework and had some fine print contract that allows them to be paid without customer satisfaction. The above complaints reflect my story so I won't bother repeating the same. Bottom line FREELANCE is a scam that is raking in millions. Buyer beware.

    Hi, I got scammed three times and my last amount was $700 approx. Fortunately I've many excellent reviews on this websites so I always bear these losses. I feel to share my story as well so you guys so from now you can just find your Employer/Employee and try to deal him outside regarding payments.

    Few days back I won a project and worked on it day night, Employer payment was verified which freelancer always suggest to check before bidding. lolz... Well project was completed, 5/5 rating were given, payment was released from milestone and after few days I was shocked to see my account with -$700 approx. I got an invoice of
    Reversal of [Done milestone payment from xxxxxx for project xxxxxx
    (Partial payment for project) (USD) from xx/xx/xxxx at xx:xx EDT] (USD)

    I tried my best to contact the support team but they always reply with their same email templates. They told me that we have some issue with your Employer Account.. My Employer is their user first and they have all the details, not me :) but they were forcing me to contact with the employer to resolve this issue otherwise they will not release my amount. This is open blackmailing. I mean seriously??? Am I responsible to verify Employer's account??? What the hell is freelancer team doing out their? Why they are allowing everyone to post a project? Why don't they allow only verified user to post the project? Is it just to increase their users which they have mentioned at the bottom of their site? They don't allow us to get employer contact info and on the other side they are asking to contact the Employer. What a Joke? I've seen the account of Employer and it was suspended however I've found the Employer outside and he said Freelancer has suspended his account and asking to upload all his documents because he and his payment method was suspicious. WTF... Client was sick so instead of any cooperation he requested a chargeback from his CC company so freelancer team wouldn't enjoy parties on my legally earned amount. Client was sick because he recovered roundabout $2500 from all projects he recently paid on freelancer and told me how easy it was to get the amount back after getting the services...     Well I don't know Why freelancer realise this once the project is completed and payment got released by client??? Who gave them authority to stole amount from our account? Freelancer always tell that their job is to make a safe place of payment for both Employer and Employee.. It proves that they are not making the place safer for payment and not able to run this business any more. They are just greedy and unprofessional people. I've contact to their CEO matt and told him about all this issues because their support sucks I've mailed their support team more than 15 times but no satisfactory answer. Matt just ignored it and said that these are rare cases. and we don't have any power to control when a user request chargeback. I told him this is how any one can post a project pay via credit card and request a chargeback?? He was silent like, yes this is how you can hack our freelancers. I told him to add some option of dispute so we can further upload the evidence if someone request an illegal chargeback for no reason. He said this is beyond our scope to control such issues. I mean how one can get his amount back even after having the full services without any issue??? We don't have any option to fight for our rights and to prove who is guilty???

    I've all the evidence if anyone want to see I can show them...

    Client released my payment but freelancer.com reverse y payment saying Reversal of [Done milestone payment ]. Why is it reversed when employer released the payment. Freelancer.com cannot do that once the employer released the payment. Mr MAX, please resolve my issue and returm my money back.

    apparently this has been running for some time... freelancer.com just reversed payments from a project done 2 months back... is this the way freelancer.com treats honest working freelancers on the internet?????? we as freelancers dont do the verification from payment source it is their job and their responsibility. therefore that should be their loss if ever a fraudulent payment has been made. honest freelancers shouldn't pay the price for the negligence or massive loopholes freelancer have in their system... working in freelancer.com has been and still is a risky business. i still prefer the system made by vworker. if such a fraud happened to vworker they would shoulder it and would not pass it on to the people bending their backs and working the net.

    i am facing lots of problem regarding payment reverse or took back from my account, i have filled many tickets but every time, i got response like same above " Please Try to Contact Employer" where the employer profile or account has been delete, now where the hell we make contact, or why we should contact to employer, its was your responsibility's to check Payment Source, before Posting the Project, Every time i faced Problem after the Project Completing or After Many days of Project completion, Every time i got no Satisfactory Answer from their Support Service and they say there was issue with user account and payment & we can no longer process this as your employer's account was closed due to violation on our Site,
    Freelancer Always come up with these Statement After the Project Completion, Recently its happened again and again to us and our team, We are feeling like Providing Free Service to employer, Because What we earn from Employer which tooks back from our Or I Must Say stolen from Accounts, We Have been Providing Quality Designs since from Year and Have Great Reviews and Rating, , but now We Feel We are Provinding Free Services to employer, doing business online on Freelancer is not Safe Anymore on freelancer.com

    I feel that I will get money for this contest. I won and client paid me. I withdraw some money into my bank account. Now freelancer.com Reversed All Prize Awarded and my account is showing negative balance.
    They also closed his account So that I can't communicate with him and deleted the contest to end all possibilities to communication with him.
    I honestly worked on contest and need money for done work. if a client is fraud than Freelancer.com is responsible for this. I will not pay for negative balance. Instead I will love to leave the freelancer.com and soon you will realize that this kind of behavior by freelancer.com will lead to close this website

    Guys, trust me. Contacting the support won't actually work. I've been through this hell hole milestone reversal for a long time and none of those reversed milestone will go back to you. So if one or any of the freelancer.com support comes here (actually they go to all website to post as if they care) they can actually do nothing about it.

    Check out this reddit post with regards to the person who got milestone reversal and even MATT BARRIE (CEO) of the company is there replying and can't do anything about it.

    we were developing a very complex desktop application and freelancer suddendly grab out my $4500 :S, saying its been reversed to client CC, and closed client acocunt too, this was for my paid work, how come we can say client to resend us, and if they don't settle their issue with client, why my money was been reversed without any initimation, where we are not responsible to verify Client credit card, rather Freelancer, what type of objection it is, how i can work with it any more, i am an old user i have more then 40 reviews over there, my clients are there, how come they can do it with me HOW THIS CAN BE DONE TO ANYONE ????

    I have been selected for one freelancer.com job.
    I have been paid for the job, about 260 USD.
    Freelancer.com suspended my account and reversed the payment and now that my account is not suspended again, they tell me to ask my employer to pay me again, which he will not do, not even answers me.
    Also, on top of that, freelancer.com wants me to pay the corresponding fee of 28USD.
    I was stolen and have to pay the fee of that.

I saw a similar post at another site and we'll post our reply here as well. . I've taken note of your feedback about our account verification procedures and be assured that Freelancer will continue to improve on it. I've looked into your case and unfortunately, the owner that created the contest used a credit card that wasn't his own. Committing credit card fraud results in immediate account closure. All payments that he made, including those made to you, were reversed and returned to the real owner of the credit card. We've refunded to you the prize fees that were deducted when you were awarded the fraudulent contests. Since you have already withdrawn the payments, the reversals resulted in a negative balance. In order to remove it, you will have to return the amount that you have withdrawn.
    We do hope you consider our recommended action as you have accumulated already a sizeable amount of reviews and reputation. Please be assured that we will continue to improve on the work that we do to serve users better. Thank you.

    This is the second time they reversed payment. They don't even notify me before payment reversed. I had to find out what made my balance negative. it's been 6 months after first payment reversal not even got a clue about what happend to the funds. first time 170$, second time 500$ . What a hell??

    Strong advice: Freelancer.com is hell. It's better to get payments directly from employers or find another good site to work,

    Mr. MAX, its not my fault that my owner used a stolen credit card. Its your duty to verify his payment before he post any project or contest. What was my fault? I had done my job honestly and want deserved money for done work. I have not suffered any loss, loss is yours and how can you recover your loss from me. I will not use freelancer.com any more, if you wish you can terminate my account, I will keep posting at Internet about your unethical and illegal way of recovery of loss from providers.

    The employer to this project (https://www.freelancer.com/projects/Articles/Article-writers-require-salary-base/) stops responding to emails and messages after I had completed the project. I've been trying to contact him for about a year. After a year, no payment received, no feedback given. I hope freelancer.com could address this issue so no other freelancer would fall into this scam.

    Nitin Naresh founder of companies called, Swarnimgroup, Centiplex, Uboxapp and many more. He is a scam artist. He has conned many people including myself of thousands of dollars. He promises to offer the best servers and bulk email packages and does not deliver. I last paid him $1500 USD and after many threats, i got a server after more than three months, and did not get what i paid for. This server worked for a few days and then crashed, just like all the other servers that i paid him for. He is not an ethical businessman and i believe that he is a thief. He takes our money and gives us nothing. Be warned that he is just a sweet talker, but under all of that, he is just a scam artist. He had a partner by the name of Mrinalini Singh that pulled out of his business because of how he has been robbing people. He pretends to know a lot about marketing, but believe you me that he does not know much. He also stole my email data and sold it to other people in India and he is using it for his own marketing purposes.

    I joined freelancer and got the first project. The freelancer who hired me for the work has now closed her account and is not ready to contact me anyway. my payment is gone and i cannot find a valid option on the website to launch a complaint or find that lady.

    My Account was closed yesterday with money in it. It is insane. There was no warning and they did one fine morning.

    Freelancer charged $200 for a payment of $4600, without any information. Then they my balance of $4800 is with them. They closed my account and did not refunded back my money yet. I am extremely worried .

    My account also has been closed with 1900 USD worth of milestones from our clients. Plus $500 worth of withdrawable funds... they closed our account without notifying us the reasons why. this happened twice already. at first they froze $300 worth or funds from us, their reason is that, we are not verified. after we verified the account still our money was frozen... now the second time, they scammed us again... For all freelancers out there. Be careful with your money... Don't use freelancer.com.. they are scammers.

    I have read you replies at this page Freelancer.com — suspended account

    yesterday one emails comes to me "account information changed successfully". i was shocked that i have not make any changes (may be it was me but i didn't remeber ). i goes directly to freelancer help center and talk about the issue so that if anyone makes any changes i should capture and correct. i c my settings it is correct nothing is effected. help center moved the issue to tire 2 department. i was happy that i will get info of the activity details at that time. but surprisingly they suspended my account and asked for too much difficult questions


    1. When was the account created?
    2. What was the verification code sent to you to verify your email address when you created the account?
    3. What was the phone number used to phone verify the account?
    4. What is the complete address registered on your account?
    5. What was your last authorized transaction on the account?


    how can i remember these information. nor me anyone can remember these information. date of account creation, verification code, even i m not confirm about my last transaction. while i have registered phone number and system can tell you that i have received many verification on this number. and my address.

    i can remember some incidents. like i have my own verification some month or a year ago, i have provided same info like passport and ubl bank statement. today i will send my photo holding my passport and verification code. i am currently working with one of my client whos three or four projects i did in freelancing and always get my payments in freelancing he can tell you about myself i m the owner. i have attached my facebook account. you can check facebook and my register gmail email information are same.


    please help me. me and my whole family relay on freelancing. i m a poor family background. i have gather money in very hard working and for 5 to 7 month income. please help me i m just weeping since i get the account suspension email.

    your truely help needed.

    I have rent a webmaster from there, he did kind of work to me, before work done, i relase nealy all money, the money that we collected with my friend. . . The webmaster gave us a huge unfunctional site, we have disputed this person, dispute was on, by the time, i saw one project open on my account. . . Which was not mine. . . !!! We had also some other money in the account for the projects. . . After that i send them message, that probably some one send project using my account, they hold my account and i couldnt activated, my money is in the account, my dispute project is in the account. . . Basicly i couldnt see and justice. . . Pls see what they have send me. . .

    To verify the ownership of the account, please answer the following security questions:

    1. When was the account created?
    2. What was the verification code sent to you to verify your email address when you created the account?
    3. What was the last project you have awarded to a freelancer on the site?
    4. What is the complete address registered on your account?
    5. What was your last authorized transaction on the account?

    Even they asked somethong inpossible which is verification number, which was send 3 years ago. . . I supplied them. . . But my account is still blocked. . . After he send this to me:

    Thank you for contacting support.

    We regret to know that your account ". . . May have been compromised. To further resolve the issue, please refer to the other ticket that we've sent to you. For your convenience, here's the ticket id:. . .

    We shall wait for your response there.


    I have send them over 15 message even i try to send their owner. . . To hear my voice but i couldnt get any relpy. . . Now my money is there, also the webmaster made a very bad jop and got our money. . . Basicly we tricked and not protected. . . From here i am telling to the people who are responsible for freelancer.Com some one please reply me. . . Please refund my money. . . This is not fair. . .


    You say here: www. Freelancer.Com / users / phoneverify. Php since account block, how you can login and make a phone verificatiosn ??? Isnt it game ??? Is it legal what you do ??? We have lost our money and plus they suspended our account for no reason but tellig the true. . .


    This is very bad and i dont want to hear your name again. . .
