June of 2023 one of their salespeople was soliciting our neighborhood. I was outside working in the yard when he came by. He mentioned that my neighbor, whom I respect, had signed up for the monthly insect control service. Our property backs up to forever wild and we get TONS of those tiny ants and mosquitoes so I signed up. It was a sunny day and I signed something on a tablet that he had. We had service a couple days later and I didn't notice a difference but my past experience in pest control/lawn care (15 years) tells me the treatments have to build up to be effective during summer months. They came again in July and it didn't work at all so we contacted them and they came about a week later for a respray, no charge. I was still supplementing their sprays with store bought outside sprays and OFF for myself. On August 18th they came again, the pattern seemed to be about the 3rd week of the month. When I got home from vacation (8/26) I was outside for maybe 15 minutes and was bitten so many times I couldn't tolerate being outside. It was a Saturday so I emailed their office and requested they cancel any and all future services, it's just not effective. No response. I called their office Monday the 28th to follow up and waited on hold for maybe 20 minutes when I gave up and sent an email asking to cancel future service. No response. On Wednesday the 30th both my husband and myself called and spoke with a customer service rep who told me I can't cancel without being charged a $250 cancel fee (ridiculous!) and he offered to send a manager out for a respray on that Friday the 1st. He came, he sprayed, and I was promptly charged the monthly fee of $106.92. I emailed in response to the receipt for payment explaining it was meant to be free and guess what? No response. My husband called that next Monday the 4th and was on hold for 31 minutes (!) and then the call dropped. He did receive a call back at 2:07 that same day but it was dead air. He called Tuesday the 5th and after waiting on hold for 24 minutes, he spoke with a rep who stated that 9/1 was our monthly scheduled service. She did offer, again, for a manager to come out that Friday (9/8) for a respray and offered $40 credit to the account. They didn't charge me however, the manager (owner?) did state to my husband that whatever they were using early season wasn't that effective. I then emailed again to cancel any and all future services with no further fees. I received a response! They confirmed my cancellation and when I sent follow up emails to be absolutely sure they proceed to tell me that I signed a 12 month contract on that sunny day in June on a tablet, with sun glare, and they plan to NOW charge me only $210 to cancel. It's the end of the season! You're going to spray mosquitoes in the snow? Huh? I wasn't getting anywhere with this email thread so I reported them to BBB and guess what? Same day they charge my account $210. I am a reasonable person but if you are paying that much (total $637.68!) for subpar service and they don't make it right, I should be able to cancel with no money due. RIDICULOUS!

EDIT: My neighbor never signed up for the service, in fact, she told him to get off her porch.

Desired outcome: I want to be refunded the $210 they charged me to cancel the service as well as an apology for wasting my time.
