On 07/18/22 we contacted Fox Pest Control via their local telephone number to ask for a one time service for Carpenter Ants. We were told that they did not offer one time service calls and that we would have to subscribe to their Monthly service agreement which was a $250.00 Upfront Fee and about $68.00 Per Month Including Taxes thereafter. They said that it may take a couple of visits to get the Carpenter Ant situation under control and that the service agreement was the best way to achieve a good outcome. They told us once we signed they would be a week out for service and if we didn't sign today it would be two weeks for our area. We signed up for the service and after a couple of visits they did have the Carpenter Ant problem under control. The service was OK, We have had a much better experience with a company located in Fairfield, whom at the time was extremely busy and could not help us in a timely fashion with the Carpenter Ants. We decided to sublet the house and move to a nearby location in CT, therefore needing to terminate the agreement with FOX Pest Control. When we called we were told that we were locked into a 24 Month Agreement and that there was a $150.00 early termination fee. At no time when we signed up for this service were we told that there was a 24 Month Contract and a $150.00 Early Termination Fee! We would have never paid $250.00 Up Front, $68.00 +/- Per Month for 24 Months to get rid of Carpenter Ants and had to wait a week after signing on to even get service! We had to sign on to this contract via my iPhone as quickly as possible to get a service date one week out - I certainly did not see these details when signing the e Document and the Salesperson certainly did not tell me about this hence I would have passed on the service agreement and went with another local company for service. Calling the main office you will find the most unprofessional people I have come across in a long time. We work in the real estate business locally and often are asked for referrals for various services & tradesmen, this is an experience I will not forget anytime soon. I will forewarn others whom would potentially use this company. "The Bad Word Travels Far Faster than the Good Word Does"
