Florida Governmental Utility Authority [FGUA] review: Billing and customer service

We have had this water company for 20 years. We have a well but they have bullied us and made us feel we have to pay their base fee and did for 20 years. A year ago their pipes broke on their end and the water was back feeding into their system which made the meter run. Let it be known we do not use the water and have not used the water. We get a bill for $250 for water we did not use. One of their workers came out to check the meter and even wrote on the door knocker explaining that. The company has kept saying they were gonna fix it, but the bill just kept climbing. Then a lien gets put on our house. I file a notice to contest the lien. But then a few days later, I get a Bill full of all charges, adding up to the same amount as the lien. We have a case for the lien and they know that. So now they’re finding other ways to get that money. This company is very shady. They are not a municipal company and you do not have to pay base fees or any fees from them. Be aware they are snakes. Do not get bullied by them getting an attorney and they will inform you of the proper laws.
