They made False Promises to help us out with the listed and more. A whole video reel on instagram by @the_makeup_monk shows and explains the issues we had. We asked them for cancellation, and a refund after waiting months and no improvements. They suggested we use an old yelp page and update it to show our business. Only added suggested service words to...
Read full review of eGumballFalse claim to agreement
October, called by agent Victor who spoke to me about the services. I told him that the business was not going to be up and going till likely next year as well as I needed to speak to my marketing team, and he said that was ok he just needed me to sign the agreement so that egumball could start to work on my profile. He stated that I would not be charged any services and that all payment services would be discussed when the terms were agrees upon the profile completion. I signed the form not knowing the terms feeling pressured that I had to do so.
Today 11/30/22 I have now received a bill for $397 in and have received multiple calls from your employees stating that I cannot cancel my services and if I do that, I will have to pay the full amount that I did not agree to.
I have voiced many times to each associate this is an unacceptable way to treat customers and scam people into believing that they are being helped and expect them to pay for what they did not agree upon. I have asked to speak to higher up, as in Operation manager or higher only to be told NO that this is as far as it goes.
Desired outcome: Cancel completely with no payment is desired
I will be reporting to BBB next if no action is taken. Thanks.
Internet representation
eGumball suckered me in to using their service back in 2017. They have continued to take money with no reports of any kind and when I tried to end our relationship I had to stop payment on them with my credit card company. The credit card was a business card with amex. They then without permission started charging 1 of my personal cards, totally an unauthorized charging of my credit cards, 2 weeks ago they tried to get me to pay a back amount owed of $150.00 and I let them know that they stole money from me and they owed me money. I then asked the rep on the phone to give me an itemized account summary of the work they did for me over the past 3 years. The woman was rude and hung up on me. Since then, my business has become invisible on the internet. I truly believe they have done something to sabotage my business. I am going to seek legal help against this kind of treatment. Stay away from this company, they are as crooked as can be! They have literally stole thousands of dollars from me as far as I am concerned.

Local search marketing
Just before the COVID19 become a major problem I got contacted by eGumball sales rep. if I sign up that day pay $1.00 to start and after 30 day of performance they will charge my account $299 application fee and $149.00 monthly service. Not even passed two weeks they charged my account the full amount, I called to cancel the service and asked them why they couldn't wait for their 30 day trail to prove what they did for my business is working they refused and they said I am obligated to the contract and refused to refund my account. I disputed the charge through my credit card and got my money back, but ever since they call my business and my cellphone everyday multiple times harassing me I am really tired of their behaviors I wish they go away and stop this harassment, my business is not doing well because of COVID we are under lots pressure really can't handle their daily phone harassments.
persistent calls for money
They call and tell me that they have a signed contract but its electronically signed and we have never contacted them but they insist they have a claim. They call two or three times a day each time it's a different person on the phone and a different number. They refuse to stop and continue to pester my business.
not respecting the agreement
Egumball didn't do anything for my company. After $895 out of my pocket, i got tired and told them to close my account. Their response was" we will not charge your credit card anymore but your balance of >$1, 400 will be reported to collection company ". How can I stop these thieves?
Ps...i contacted multiple times and was never called back by the sell person who got me into this. So, if they are so honest, why do they not call back?
transactions.
The worst company I have ever dealt with! They do not follow through with their promises. They try to get you signed up for their service and after you ask them to cancel you have to send emails to cancel. Even after you have cancelled they still keep trying to charge you. They are the rudest people i have ever done business with and the product is also not worth the money.
FRAUD ! STAY AWAY
service in advertising
This is a total Fraud Thank god I have a 6 Month Trial Period this was an absolute waste of 1800 dollars Never heard from them in 6 months never received one call from someone who called me because of them. They Railroaded Me into the Contract with the High Pressure Sales, Once the High Pressure Sales hooks you they are no longer ever heard from again. The Company can't even verify who the sales person was which I think is an out right lie. Then they threaten with a breach of Contract and I think now I will need to Find a Lawyer to Sue them for Failure to Provide services prescribed in our contract

I have just received a phone call from an employee at egumball.com who said they represent Google. He was rude and unprofessional when I expressed that I didn’t want to talk to him about the product he offered. His phone number is [protected]. I know this is his number because after I hung up on him he called me back and threatened me saying that he would make sure that my business wasn’t on Google and never would be. I take this as a direct threat to the welfare of my business. I wish I could get ahold of Google and let them know as this kind of business practice tarnishes their reputation.

Signed up for 6 month contract plus $129.00 set up fee. Called eGumball Account Exe. and told them I could not see any results from their company and wanted to end my contract. She sent me an e-mail describing what I needed to do to get results from the search engines. I thought that was what I hired them to do. After 6 months I still saw no results. Ended my contract with them. Check them out before you buy, make sure they are right for you and your company.
their ways and plans didn't work for our company
Our boss decided to change the business and wanted to use the services of Egumball. He contacted the representative and started to tell him what really he was up to. The representative was positive and tried to find ways of how to help our boss. He offered different ways and plans. Our boss agreed to one plan, which would innovative the business. But after two months our boss was angry and argued with this company, because their ways and plans didn’t work positively. Our boss lost money and was angry about it.

Egumbell said on my contract that if my web site was not up in 30 days I would get a full refund. There was no place on the contract authorizing them to make electronic.payments, so when they took money out of my bank account without a authorization, I canceled my service and they told me that if they had the bank info then they had authorization to remove money, which is breaking the law. I called my bank who verified that I am right, you can't remove money from someones account because they have my bank info. The bank refunded all my money because egumbell broke the law. SERIOUSLY, GO TO YOUR BANK AND FILL OUT UNAUTHORIZED ELECTRONIC REMOVAL AND THE BANK WILL GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK. THEN GO TO THE STATES ATTORNEYS OFFICE IN YOUR STATE AND FILE THEFT AND AND FRAUDULENT BANKINH TRANSACTIONS. Don't bother talking to the criminals that got you in this position, they won't help you and only way to put them out of business is if everyone files charges. I got my money and my bank will refund any monies they try to take in the future and the bank and I will file charges on them every time. I hope this helps everyone.

they didn't provide the promised services
We spoke recently with the rep from the company eGumball Inc. He promised to provide the appropriate marketing solution for my company. Their prices were rather high, but this company seemed to be professional. We agreed about solution and our company paid for the services, but this solution was total fake. We tried to find any info about our business, but we found nothing. It seems that they have done completely nothing. Don’t trust them and it was only waste of our money.
no results
i hired egumball 9 months agoo to help get me listed on the web they told me that they could have me online in 3 months and when i started to complain the toke the rest of the payments out of my account and now will not even try they are liars and theives they should be in jail
If you search Google for egumball.com before you do business with them you will find that google autosuggests egumball complaints. That seems to me to be pretty bad for any company but ironically bad for a company that performs seo services.
bad review
They made alot of promises on the sales call but did not come close to delivering. Now they want to sue me for writing a bad review.
this company does a terrible job , and will take your domain name and hold hostage if you cancel service
Call seemed suspicious. They tried to prove i was not at the top of google search by means of FAKE websites, contactyellow, localbusinessdirectory, myserviceprofile, superplaces, yeldu, yellowpagesonlinedirectory. Worst searches ever.
They keep phoning and requesting payment for services that were never signed for and requested or agreed to, they even electronically signed the contract as well, without any authorization from us.
If you LOOK ON the contract/application that state they are an official partner of Google but on the pages they sent concerning my chargeback there is a disclaimer stating they are not affiliated in any way In My opinion This violates the elf law concerning Fraudulent claims also They threaten to take down our businesses if you back out which in my opinion violated the UNFAIR Competion Statue
I have to agree 100%--they are a bunch of con artist. I was DUMB enough to sign up with them thinking that I had 30 days to cancel, which was what I was told by a Jeff Jingco when he called. I got busy and did not have time to check them out as I should have. 2 weeks later I started checking and reading the reviews, etc. WOW was that a wake up call! The CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT got my attention. Called and told them that I wanted to cancel, but was informed that I only had 3 days to change my mind. The arguments got me know where, but I did have some pleasure in telling them what they could do with the RIPOFF stuff. Now they sent me a email saying I woe them $700+ for early cancellation. It cost me $298 already--although I called my bank and disputed the charges. They just called again and want me to email a formal cancellation. I guess they didn't understand the STICK IT cancellation. I hope others are smarter than me. PLEASE---DO NOT even talk to these people!
EGumball hoodwinked me, too. Their sales tactics pressure you to sign up immediately, and then their sales rep isn't completely forward with all the details of the contract.
I am a franchisee, so I explained I had to check with corporate to see if their product was allowed. They assured me they worked with other franchises from the same corporation, and that I would have 30 days to opt out, but did not explain that was only if they hadn't setup my account. There is a 3 day opt out clause, but I explained that wasn't enough time for corporate to respond, so I was assured I could do within 30 days.
When I had to cancel because corporate told me too, EGumball did not honor what they said. Claimed they listened to the sales call, which was over an hour and 2 different phone lines, and then only mentioned one part of the conversation--not the one about my concerns with corporate. When I asked to listen to the sales call, they declined.
I ended up paying a buyout clause that saved me a little on the 6 month contract, but was ridiculous high.
Also, during setup and my cancellation, I was told I'd receive a call back & never did. This happened 4 times over a month.
EGumball utilizes questionable sales tactics. Buyer beware.
UPDATE - AND IT'S NOT GOOD FOR ME!
So, after I left my reviews for what I consider terrible service by egumball, I received a call from Elaine who is a customer satisfaction agent at egumball. She informed me that she had read my review and wanted to express to me that the way my account was handled is not a good representation of how egumball values their clients and she wanted to correct the situation with me. I was very honest with her about my experience and was happy to hear that egumball was going to give me a refund. Great right? NOPE! I was sent an email by Egumball that my bank account had been credited, but not 30 seconds later I received a notification from my bank that they had TAKEN ANOTHER $159.01 OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT! No authorization, no permission, just debited money right out of my account. Elaine the account rep kept assuring me that they had in fact refunded me, but here it is 4 hours later, and my bank statement still shows that they took (or IMO stole) more money out of my bank account. So only time will tell if this latest action was malicious, or just incompetence. Either way, Egumball is NOT a company you should do business with.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
If you are a small business owner who has been contacted by egumball, PLEASE READ MY REVIEW and save yourself from wasting your money. Their sales pitch is a scam at best and fraudulent at worst.
After being contacted many many times by egumball telling me that my google business account was either not verified or might be removed because of inaccurate information, I finally listened long enough to speak with a customer service agent / salesperson. My salesperson's name was Bailey who's extension at the time was 425. I also spoke with his supervisor/manager who's name I believe was Cameron. I had some extra time on my hands that day so I thought I would let Bailey give me his sales pitch, and maybe at least I would learn a few things and at the very least be taken off of the call list. I won't give the full play by play of the sales call, but in short, I gave Bailey my long list of hesitations of why I don't trust companies like egumball. One of my main hesitations was that I didn't trust that I would get any value for my money. Being a small business owner, I have a very tight budget, and when things are slow you get a little desperate for new customers. Bailey caught me on one of our slow periods so I guess I was hoping that what he told me was true. Of all of the pitches Bailey gave me, the one point that made me consider signing with egumball was HIS PROMISE, that if I was unhappy for any reason, I could cancel my service and get 100% of my money back, guaranteed. When he told me this I wanted to make sure that I had heard him right and so we talked about this very point for more than a few minutes. He even got his manager (Cameron) on the phone who also promised me that if for any reason I wasn't satisfied with my service, I would get a full refund and would not be required to continue to pay for any future service. Well... you guessed it, THAT WAS A TOTAL LIE.
After a few weeks had gone by and basically nothing as far as I could see was done with my account, my website, my google listing, etc., I called to cancel my service as per my agreement with my salesperson. That was when I was told that the actual service agreement that I e-signed said I was on the hook for an additional two months of paid service. Sure enough, IT DID SAY THAT ON THE ELECTRONIC CONTRACT. Now, keep in mind that the contract is several pages long, and when they sign you up, its a pretty rushed experience. No doubt so that you don't read the agreement and compare it to what the salesperson said to you. My mistake. I completely own up to the fact that I got duped by what the salesperson told me and didn't study the agreement careful enough to call them on the discrepancy. So here I am, having paid for two months of service now, with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. And after going back and forth with their customer service department, telling them what I was verbally promised, they are threatening to send my account to collections.
And so my fellow small business owners, do not be duped by anything they tell you. It doesn't even matter that I have the entire sales call recorded and it clearly states that I would get a full refund if I was unhappy for any reason. They just disregard it. Please, please, save your money and your sanity and do not sign up with egumball, or any company who wants to "help" your business get more presence on the web. These companies prey upon small business owners hopes of increasing their online traffic. If you sign up with egumball I promise you will regret your decision.
