Eco Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians review: Replacement of tub/shower faucet

I contacted Eco to replace the Moen cartridge in a tub/shower faucet and the tub spout. The serviceman arrived on November 20, 2025. I was presented with four options, several of which were unrelated. I chose the option to replace the cartridge and the spout for which I had originally asked to have done. The cost quoted was in the $300 range.
The serviceman advised that in the process of trying to remove the cartridge, it broke off inside the valve and that the entire faucet would need to be replaced. He handed me his iPad for a signature. I thought I was acknowledging that the faucet was not repairable and needed replaced. Little did I know that I had just agreed to pay $1,153.
At no time was an estimate for this cost shown to me or discussed. I found out about the cost when the plumber advised the work had been completed and payment was due. I figured since it was my fault for not clarifying what I had signed, I was stuck and issued payment.
After some thought, I contacted Eco and requested a detailed itemization of labor and material costs. I did receive a material list but no other itemization. I contacted Eco again asking for this itemization. I received an email regarding their upfront transparent pricing and they do not proceed with any work without signed approval with copies of what I had signed.
Looking at what I signed, the description indicates “replace the faucet” and a lump sum total cost with no other detail. If the “upfront transparent pricing” had any merit, the quote would include detail of scope and cost.
Based on the above, I can only conclude that Eco intends to deceive in order to get the customer to sign on the dotted line and ultimately charge whatever they want.
