This company offered a free trial for delivery charges only. Gave 10 days for trial but cannot reach
them to cancel account on the 8th day. However, when inquiring about my credit card, my company
say that Diet Max Cleanse has already charged $87.47 to my account and I have not been given a chance
to cancel since they do not answer their phone and the email address is not available. I did go in to the
original site and did an unsubscribe. I have received the trial capsules and after taking just one capsule
became sick with a heart rate of 109 beats per minute. I was charged the $3.87 for shipping of this
sample and am willing to pay that charge. But, my trial period ends today and they cannot be reached.
My credit card company say charged my account for the new order on Aug. 11 which is 5 days before my
trial period is to end? They say they will delete the charge. I am very unhappy with the company. I
think they are scamming people!

I ordered product on 9/1 and received it 9/10. On 9/11 they charged my account $87.47. I called on 9/13 and was told my account was cancelled and would not be charged any more and billing would look into refunding my account. On 9/29 nothing had been refunded yet so I called back and was sent an email with a link to cancel the account again. And again I was told I would not be charged again. On 10/1 I was charged another $87.47 and a $2 transaction fee. So Icalled again a 3rd time and talked to 2 people. They do not want to refund my money or do anything about either charge even though I was told on 9/13 that the account was closed.

This company has to be stopped.

I just checked my bank statement and noticed that I had a pending authorization for $87.47..Then I double checked and saw that I was charged on 09/14/10 the amount of $87.47 and $2.62 and now I am being charge the $87.47 and $2.95 again!
WTF!
when I made my original purchase nothing was said about a trial offer
I didn't even have to sign up for anything..just made a "normal" purchase
WELL...
I called me bank and they told me to call the company and guess what..Diet maz's systems were "down"
they said to call back
So i opened a claim with my bank and they are giving me a temporary credit for the first set of charges
i have to wait for the new charges to post to my account before i can dispute them
and my bank had to put a hold on my card in order to stop any further charges
now i have to wait 7-10 days before i will have a new card
this is ridiculous
i think a lawyer needs to get involved since we are all being screwed over

They promised me a full refund too, all 3 times I called explaining I cancelled during the PREVIOUS calls. I never got one. They just jerk you around until you get off the phone with them. They are very good at it. Some good news...today, my credit card company cancelled the last 2 charges they just tried to make on my card, so I don't have to pay them and DietMax is blocked from charging my card again. Hopefully they don't try to bill me under the other company names that they use. There is another website out there by some TV news network, I think in Florida warning people about being scammed by this company. Check it out if you get a chance.

Wish I had visited this site before submitting my order. I have also been charged for shipping, convenience and then the full price for a product that when it arrived was not even what I ordered! Thank you all for sharing your phone numbers etc... I finally got ahold of someone using the number on the original comment [protected] and was persistent and forceful until I was told I would be sent a cancellation e-mail just as others of you have been told. I followed the instructions and printed everything for my records. I cancelled my bank card and was told that in order to dispute the charge I would have to file a police report. Every page had a different contact number and I will list those in case one of them is different than what you might have already tried. Nothing they sent specifically said they would issue a refund but I can only hope at this point. I made sure to tell the customer service rep that I would be filing a police report if I did not receive a full refund. If you can't get a hold of someone try this...
http://www.cancelsite.com/mc

then enter your info just as it appears on your order confirmation and enter "forgot" on the CS Rep line. I don't know if that will work without having spoken to a rep but if they don't answer the phone it's worth a try. As the other reviewer noted -- use lowercase, no punctuation and sign it with your first and last name, all lowercase with no spaces.

The phone number that worked for me: [protected]
others listed on the cancellation e-mail and linked site: [protected] & [protected]

Isn't there a state fraud unit for consumers in each state and federal fraud investigation unit where we can collectively report this company? No one ever answers the telephone when I call, but I've already submitted a fraud investigation with my bank have cancelled my card and my bank will credit my account after this investigation. This company, whom I have no idea what its name is, has to be stopped!

I am so upset, I just found out I got scammed. Then I found this site. Wish I had found this site first. But I had read a news womans testamony about this product. She made it sound legit. I call the number on the bottle and cancled the acount I didn't know I had with them. They say they are going to refund me but minus 45% of what they charged, I will see in 48 hours. God I feel the fool. Never think it's ever that simple and straight forward.

I spoke too soon in a previous post...Diet Max charged my CC TWICE today, without my authorization...for $87.47 and for $2.95. I called my CC company to dispute the charges and they will remove the charges within 48 hours and charge it back to Diet Max. I can't see them getting any money from Diet Max since it's a scam company using several company names, addresses and phone numbers. I'm sure before this is all over, I will have to be issued a new credit card number.

Here's another thing- they had an entirely different phone number and email address than what we have. Also, the guy on the phone said he sent the cancellation email but every time we checked, there was nothing there. Finally, after repeating "have you sent it yet? I don't have it!" 100 times, they sent the email (not before they said to call back in a month if we haven't received the cancellation yet). All I can say is, be very stern and repetitive. Get a refund and a confirmation number for the cancellation. Don't settle for less.

ANH1985...your husband was very lucky to get the visa gift card...I hope it is legit. I DID try the "being stern" thing and I spoke with ALL the supervisors there and they assured me that my subscription would be cancelled and given a full refund...I did this same procedure on THREE separate occasions. They just string you along to pacify you after spending an hour at a time on the phone with them. DO NOT be surprised if in a few weeks, they make another charge to your credit card, that's how they operate. Once they have your CC number, they will continue to use it until you either get a new credit card number or put a block on them from using it.

This company is ridiculous! Normally, I don't fall for this kind of stuff but I thought I went through everything and checked them out but it was prior to all these new posts that are now appearing. I'm still trying to get money back for these unauthorized charges.

I've submitted a complain to the Better Business Bureau in Florida and suggest everyone do that so that they can stop or at least regulate this company.

http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org

Also, let your bank know right away and you may have to pay to stop additional charges from posting to your account. It may be worth it in the long run.

New development...the "pending" charge on my credit card for $90 by DietMax was removed from my C.C. statement today, either because my credit card company put a "block" on them from charging my card or maybe because of the complaint I filed with the BBB. The BBB contacted them and gave them 14 days to resolve my dispute with them (I want a refund for the charges they made). Here's the wild part...when I got home from work today, DietMax called me but under a different company name just like someone on here mentioned (they use several different company names)...it was the same A-hole James that I spoke with several other times. He insisted it was not the same company and he tried to get me to sign up with them. My guess is the "block" prevented them from charging me again so they are trying to bill my CC under the other company's name now. I told him that they are under investigation for internet fraud by the BBB, the FL Attorney General and the FBI internet crime division and that he will be going to prison for a very long time. He got real scared and tried to be apolgetic and get off the phone.

My husband just dealt with these idiots yesterday! We didn't even sign up for a free trial offer- supposedly it was charged to our account through some credit check scam. There were also a couple of international fees, whatever those are. And their website is super suspicious. He was told by the teller at B of A to be very firm and demand a refund. If they don't give you one, call back and speak to another rep until you get someone who will. He managed to get a visa gift card for the amount charged. BE STERN! Do not take a partial refund. You are entitled to the entire amount.

I've run into the same problems as everyone else with this company. I ordered the product Diet Max Cleanse 9/14/10 and received it on 9/24/2010. I received my credit card statement on 10/1/2010 & found they had charged me $3.87 plus $1.49 on 9/14/2010 and an additional $87.47 on 9/24/10. I called the [protected] number on the credit card statement immediately and was told the 10 day trial started on the day of order; and that they couldn't help it if the post office was slow. I said I hadn't even opened the product yet & offered to return it for refund. They refused a full $87.47 refund but offered a partial. I refused & said I would call my bank & the Better Business Bureau. My bank said they were familiar with this company and filed a dispute for me. The credited my account and placed a block against any future charges by that company. I then called Diet Max again to make sure I would get no future shipments or charges. They also gave me the speal about sending me a link to a "cancellation form" with instructions about filling it out with no punctuation, spaces, ; a password, etc. I'm still waiting for the email. After reading some othe the other complaints on this site, I called my bank about the form & was told not to fill it out since it would give them ammo against the dispute if it contained the statement someone else reported about accepting the original charges. I've also reported them to the Better Business Bureau, FTC, & Attorney General's office. Hopefully I've learned my lesson.

I have the very same problem. I've been charged over $400. and haven't yet got it canceled. They say it is canceled then when I call again say it isn't . I send the stuff back and they tell me they didn't get it. They haven't offered a refund no matter what I do. They say they can't do that. I have talked to them eight times. I can prove it by my phone bill but they said they had only talked to to three. I've been charged $2.95, $87.47, $1.49, 2.95, $4.99, and another.$87.47 this last month. This was after they sent me a e-mail saying it had been canceled. Now they say it wasn't and they say they canceled it again. This time my credit card co. was on the line and have it on my record but I'm still out over $400. This is all after sending all the products back to them and only taking one pill because it didn't agree with me. I tried the Better Business Bureau but couldn't come up with a name it would take. I've never ever gotten into anything like this again. I am ready to cancel my credit card.

My husband I have never ordered anything from this company. Somehow they got a hold of my husband's debit card number. First they took out one penny so they could fish around and see if there was money in the account. Then they took out $99.97. We got that money back from the bank and my husband closed his debit card. However, before the bank got it closed they took out another $99.97. I called them in Florida at the 800 number and basically hung up in the woman's face. She could barely speak English and kept telling me to return the product. Hello! How can I return something I didn't get. They also had a bogus address attached to our name. So now I am fighting again to get the other $99.97 back. I have reported them to the BBB and I am going to report them to the Attorney General's Office.

I had to close my account at the bank because thes people were just taking money hand ove fist from my account. I was offered a refund for any returned unopened product, but there would be a 45% restocking fee. Unfortunately, they have charged me $87.47 three times and I only had one bottle of product shipped to me besides the "Free Trial" bottle which of course I had opened. In addition to the $87.47 charges, there have been smaller charges of $3-$5 made randomly throughout the month. Check your bank or credit card statements carefully! I was also threatened, in writing when I canceled my "Membership", that if I reported this to my credit card company and tried to get a charge back, they would report my name to an internet fraud database and destroy my internet credit. I am submitting all of this paperwork to my bank who will forward it to the Visa Fraud Dept.

Not to discourage anyone, but it's unlikely you will get a refund. 2 days ago, I got an email from the Better Business Bureau telling me that they contacted Diet Max and gave them 14 days to resolve my complaint. Today I got an email from the Florida Attorney General telling me that they have ALREADY been under investigation. They sent me a form to fill out and to sign witnessed by a notary public that can be used in possible future litigation. My guess is that they will return under a different company name and continue to scam people.

I just received my bottle about 2 days ago with just 3 days to try the product, but that's definitely not enough time to even see results. After 6 days of waiting for the pills to arrive I got fed up and searched the Internet. This is what came up: http://acaiberrysite.com/beware-of-free-trial-offers-for-acai/
After reading what it was about, diet max was listed on the scammer's list twice.

I tried calling to cancel right after reading the article, but it took about 4 days to get someone on the line (the last day for my trial) to cancel. The cs said to expect a cancellation email within an hour, so I hope I can get a refund.

I had to submit the thing a couple times and it finally went through because I received a cancellation email pretty quickly. Make sure your digital signature is your full name, all lowercase and no spaces. What a ridiculous requirement! I received my trial yesterday in the mail but I am afraid to try both products.

Annoyed user...CHECK CREDIT CARD statement to make sure you didn't get charged for the bottle! Basically what they do is send you the bottle for your "free trial period" (which is 10 days including the day you ordered, plus weekends) and then they will also charge you around $87 for that same bottle a few days before your trial is up... Since you ordered the 21st your 10th day is today!

I would advise that anyone who gave these companies their credit/debit card #'s to get new card numbers issued to be on the safe side. They may "mistakenly" charge your account after you've cancelled and then it will be really difficult to get the $ back. Also, you can't be sure your card information wasn't shared with any other companies...

I ordered this product online on 21 September and it still hasn't arrived. I called to cancel the order today and was sent an email with a link to cancel it. I submitted the cancellation (following the instructions about all lower case letters, no spaces and punctuations etc) and was told that I will receive an email shortly to confirm my cancellation for my records. I still have not received the email and I am thinking of calling them up again just to confirm my cancellation

I was lucky enough to read these posts and cancel my debit card before it happened to me. This is a foreign company and they are very hard to understand. I called them and told them to never call me again and to take me out of their database. I cancelled my credit card to prevent the fraud. Now I have to go 2 weeks without a debit card. They kept on saying over and over that they would extend my trial period and I would not be charged and gave me another number to call and cancel. They also told me the additional $1.49 they charged aside from the $3.87 was just for using their website.

Thank god for this website! I had also signed up for the free trail of both Acai Berry Max and Natura Cleanse to see if they really worked. However, I did read the terms and conditions which said all you had to do was simply call the customer service #’s provided and cancel if you did not want the monthly subscription before the trials ended - which I had planned on doing anyways. I placed this order on 9/22.

The following day (9/23) I got a strange call from [protected] which was ANOTHER company not even affiliated with the ones I ordered from trying to sell me more stuff. I quickly said that I was not interested and gave them no further information. To me this set off a red light because who was this other company and why did they have all of my information?

I then proceeded to look these "companies" up at BBB.org and saw that there were over 1000 complaints against them! I then found this website and after reading through the above posts made a very SMART call to my credit card company. Luckily at this point there were only 2 charges of $3.87 and $1.95 which were the shipping and handling of the free trials, which I had agreed to.

When making the purchase in the beginning, I believed that they would abide by their own "terms & conditions" and at least wait the full trial period before charging you for the subscription. But obviously for what I have read here, that is not the case. I had my credit card cancelled that same day so I only got charged for the free trial shipping and handling of both products.

I still needed to cancel both subscriptions because I had entered into a legal and binding agreement that I could be brought to collections for. I first called the Natura Cleanse Company @ [protected] which is the number provided on their website and bottle, because their terms say you need to obtain “RMA # to return the bottle they have sent you. I got an answering machine that their "office was closed" I had called at 9:30am which is stated on their website business hours were 9am-7pm.

I then sent them an email :info@naturecleansing.com

"I have tried calling the customer service number [protected] multiple times during the stated business hours on and there is a recording that I am calling while the office is closed. I placed the free trail order on 9/22/2010 but I would like to cancel my subscription today, which is within the 14 day "Free trail" period and send the bottle back within the 30 days. Can someone please get back to me to process the cancellation of my subscription and give me the RMA # to return the bottle sent to me? "

I received an email back a few hours later stating:

“Your account has been successfully cancelled. There will be no further charges to your account. You do not need to return the trial bottle. Thank you for your interest in our product. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the future. "

I then proceeded to call the Acai Berry Max Company @ [protected] to cancel the other subscription. The guy a spoke to was "David" who could barely speak English and kept trying to give me other trails so I wouldn't cancel. I stated 5 times that I am cancelling and not interested in any further business with them and did not want any other bottles or products besides the original 14 day trail pack that was “sent” (I have still not received) He finally gave up told me he would send me an email which would contain a link that I needed to go to and submit it for the cancellation to be processed. I also received the same bs instructions about no spaces, uppercase letter, punctuation... this is the link to the cancel site: http://www.cancelsite.com/ct I did then receive an email back confirming my account was cancelled.

What a ridiculous process and totally not worth my time. Do not bother with these companies, you have to jump through hoops to cancel and they charge your account before their "terms and conditions" say they will. I am just sooo happy that I acted fast and had my credit card cancelled so those suckers only got $5.82 out of me and I cancelled both subscriptions 7 days into it so if they do try to "send me to collections" like their email threatens, they can kiss my A$$ because they aren't legally able to get [censored]!

BTW: has anyone actually tried the products? They told me to keep to bottle but now I am scared to even try it because I have zero trust in these companies...

I had the same nightmare as all the previous posts. I just got off the phone with my credit card company...you do not have to get a new credit card number, they put a block on the company (Diet Max) from being able to charge my CC in the future. There is also a "pending" charge for $90.42 by Diet Max on my card...I will have to wait until it is actually charged and then file the dispute with my credit card company. They will then remove the charge from my CC acount and not bill me. I hope this will be the end of it. Like others have said, it has been a nightmare dealing with Diet Max over the phone. My next course of action will be to file complaints with the BBB and also the Florida Attorney general at the websites that Stephen posted (thanks for the info Stephen)...I hope others do the same and maybe they will get shut down so that no one else gets scammed. My guess is they would just create a whole new website under a new name and be back in business ripping people off. As a side note...I cancelled the trial subscription the very next day I ordered, was still billed 4 different charges and never recieved ANY of the product.

I guess we have all fallen for this company. I am their lastest victim. I had agreed to their "free' trial with the cost of shipping and handling. On Sep 13th, they contacted me to thank me for agreeing to try their product. Then the guy went on to offer two other items, which dumb me agreed to. So, those two charges, I had agreed to. Upon my return from my vacation, there was a charge agains my bank account for $87.47 and various other little charges.

I contacted the company through the phone number listed by my bank. I talked with an individual that had a very heavy accent. I got tired of trying to explain to her what the problem was and asked to speak to her supervisor. I had to waite several minutes (lucky it was an 800 #). This individual was rude and also had a heavy accent. I believe that this call center is in India as that is the accent I heard speaking. I finally had my fill there and stated who I worked for and that I was now going to deal with my bank and file fraudulent charges against my account.

I have spent numerous minutes on the phone with this company, have submitted a complaint 3 times to get the $87.47 off my credit card. I was told yesterday that the charge will be removed in 3 to 5 business days. I have already waited over 17 days after I requested it be removed the first time. I am going to my bank and filing a fraud complaint. However looks like we are all in the same boat and are over $88 bucks short. I doubt if they will ever take off the charge. Every time you call you get someone with a very heavy accent that you cannot understand and have to ask they repeat what they say over and over. This company should be fined and the CEO should be arrested.

I've been taken for a ride too.

I had believed that I would be charged $1.49 for a trial, only to find that when my invoice came it said $99.97 would be refunded when I sent in a rebate form. EEEEEKKKK! After looking at the rebate form, the fine print says only good for US (I'm outside the US)

So on the 1st September I had $1.49 plus $99.997 plus an international bank fee, then on the 3rd September it was all charged again.

I'm disputing the charges with my bank, but on the 7th September I received an email saying I had to click a link to receive an extra free gift. There happened to be an EMAIL ADDRESS on this. I emailed them to say that they'd charged me twice, I'd like a refund and I no longer wanted the product.

Well amazingly enough I just got a refund on my CC!

Cross fingers I've not had any more charges to my CC, and I have 2 bottles of tablets here, as they took 2 weeks to get to me. I'm scared to take them now LOL

here's the email address acaimaxnew2@aweber.com

I ordered the free trial on September 15, 2010. I received it on September 20, 2010. The bottle had a black label and was called "Maximum Burn Xtreme". I knew I had 10 days to cancel before being charged the $87.47.

On September 22, 2010 (NOT ten days yet!) I saw that they had charged the full amount. I immediately called [protected]. I spoke with Dennise, rep #508. She told me several times that they had NOT charged me, but the charge I was seeing was a "pre-authorization verification" that the company puts in a few days before actually charging the account, to verify that the money will be there. I argued that the money was CHARGED, as in, it was no longer available to ME to use, so therefore it was not my money! No use arguing, she had a heave Indian accent and just kept repeating that she was "assuring" me it was not charged yet.

I then told her, "I want to cancel my account. I do not want it". I made sure to speak slowly, deliberately, and clearly. She tried to convince me it was worth keeping, so I repeated my first statement again, forcefully and clearly. She must have gotten the point because, surprisingly, she told me she would send me an email with a link. She then asked if I had pen and paper, because she was going to tell me something important. Now pay attention everyone, because when you call your rep may not tell you this and it's RIDICULOUS!

She told me that, after clicking on the link, my reply could not contain ANY punctuation (commas, periods, etc). It must be all lower case, with NO spaces. It must include her name, Denise. I asked her to spell it and she told me it was Dennise (with 2 Ns, I would not have spelled it that way). She told me my signature would be my first and last name, with no spaces, all lower case. And she gave me a password to use. Are you kidding me?!?! Who is supposed to successfully cancel with those kind of restrictions?

So I got the email, and the link. I followed her instructions exactly, but I'm still very worried. That was only just now that I submitted it, so I will come back and post again when I know how it goes, and if my money is back in my account.

One more thing, after clicking on the link, I had to read the following before verifying the cancel. Pay attention to what it says, about ruining your internet credit. These are scare tactics! We, as customers, have to right to always return products or request refunds if not satisfied. That does NOT mean when you try to order online in the future you're going to be denied! What a bunch of crap. Can you imagine if companies had to power to scare the consumer out of ever returning anything, in real life or online. There would be no accountability for the companies and they could always sell us crap. Not to mention, if what I'm requesting is a "charge back" then they are admitting they "charged" me, which the rep told me they didn't. Hmmmmm

So here's the disclaimer: "Thank you for visiting our website. Please take a few minutes to read the following as when you submit this form you automatically accept the following terms and conditions and confirming the order process. You are agreeing that your credit card will not be billed for any future recurring charges. No credit will be issued to your credit card for your trial order which you. You are confirming that that your future subscription will be cancelled effective as of today. All orders already processed have been billed to credit card on file. You may renew your membership for subscription orders at any time by simply calling customer care at [protected] Monday thru Friday 8am-6pm Eastern Standard Time. We take charge backs very seriously. All internet credit card companies’ use these databases to access credit risk with customers and future purchases with other internet companies might be denies. We do not have any control over this fraud database. Once you get on these lists it is very difficult to get your name removed from it. BE SMART! DON'T DESTROY YOUR INTERNET CREDIT If a customer charges a purchase back we will place their name, address, zip code, and credit card number into an Internet fraud database.. This also serves as a retraction of any actions initiated by you the customer that may lead to or is a potential chargeback. All sales and terms are final. Limit one per household.

Hope this info helps. If you're researching this product/company/free trial, and you haven't ordered yet... DON'T! Not worth it. It's a nightmare. And the product made me sick to my stomach and gave me headaches. I'm just a real 31 year old mother of 3 who was hoping for a little weight loss help. What a scam!

Same thing but I did call and cancel within 3 days. Still charged $87.47 but able to have it taken off. That was in July. However, on Septemer 15th a charge of $4.97 showed up on my debit card. Only listed as "diet max", panama...I tried to call the 800 number I had originally used to cancel and got a loud "whining" noise on the phone like a fax connection. Instead of wasting time to try to reach them and risk them charging more than $4.97 I went straight to the bank and cancelled my debit card and had a new one issued. The Bank actually removed the charge as fraudulant use of my card. I would suggest doing this right away. I am sure they are not going to contact me about not being paid this erroneous charge.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. How can they keep doing this to people and get away with it? My credit card company called me to ask if I authorized the 87.47 and I said no. So I wasn't charged. Thank God!
But I have a feeling this is not the last I'll hear from them.
Where is the consumer protection agencies?
I found out about it from a review by Staci Sandler from Channel 7 investigative news. Are they all in on this?
I really think our country is becoming a Corporate nation not a Capitalist economy. God help us!

I think I need to start up a business in Florida. They have stolen base on BBB numbers $162, 000.00 in 36 months. Wall Street can not do better.

I cancelled mine back in July. I never receieved the product and was still charged the full amount. The person I talked to said that it was cancelled and even sent me an e-mail to confirm it. Just had a charge of $4.97 on my card 3 days ago. Check the Better business Bureau and see just how many complaints they have received. The post office is returning their mail as undeliverable. looks like we all need to cancel our credit cards and ge new numbers. Next time the charge could be much higher.

Interesting. Same thing happened to me. I did reach them at 5:40 AM this morning and it only took about 30 sec. for them to answer at [protected]. Their argument had to do with agreeing to their terms and conditions. I thought I had bookmarked their web page but I guess I forgot to or which computer I did that on. I can't find their terms and conditions - didn't arrive with the "sample" and it isn't with their order confirmation. So, as the CS rep reminded me, I paid for shipping and for the first 7 days of free product, and on the 7th day, was charged the $80 some for - I guess the rest of the bottle. At 2 pills/day there is enough for a 30 day supply in it. I received it probably about 4 days after ordering, so really wouldn't even have had any significant results if I'd started day 1 by the time they charged me for the bottle. Since practically the moment I made that charge on my credit card my credit card company has had a fraud alert on that card. Every time we try to charge something on it it is either declined or we have to go thru a lengthy process of identifying our latest charges. So, I have filled out the form, asked them to never send or charge anything again. And I will instruct my credit card company never to accept charges from them again. Interesting - when you fill out their form they warn you about declining their charges and how they report such activity to fraud alert. So... was I stupid or what? I normally don't do such things, and I'll certainly do better research. And I found my information on a legit news page.
