Dental Works injury

Hello,

My name is Blanca Rodriguez. I went in for a routine cleaning on 02/08/2019. It was anything but routine, my filling popped out and the dentist on staff at Pat Booker Dental agreed to put a new filling that same day. The doctor didn't complete the job, she went on to the next patient, her dental assistant put the filling in and in the process cut my gums up. I repeatedly told her she was being rough and was hurting me, she ignored me.I was bleeding and missing pieces of flesh from my gum-line. The pain in my jaw was immediate, I called the after hours number and the Doctor submitted a RX for pain killers and antibiotics. The pain NEVER stopped, after being passed around the Dental Works family it was determined I had TMJ. The dental assistant who put the filling in was so rough, she triggered TMJ. I'm now being treat by a specialist and having to pay out of pocket for what your staff caused. I've called Theresa at the Dental Works corp offices repeatedly but I never get calls back. All I want is to be reimbursed for the costs I'm incurring due to there staffs practices. I can be reached at [protected].

Dental Works theft of both my money and insurance proceeds

We had a credit on our account for months. I ask to please get a refund. I talked to a smart mouth named Nikki who would never have the office manager call me back. I went to the office two weeks ago ona saturday to get a print out of my account. Mysteriously my credit was written off. I ahve contacted the Better Business Bureau and I have had two independent insurance fraud professionals review my account and both suggest that I reach out to your company one last time before I file charges and notify Humana. The main dentist is Dr Delegatta. He seems to be a nice perosn but someone 8. That location is a thief.

Dental Works unprofessional office and medical behavior

I have been pleased with the Greenville SC office for years until 11/7/2018. The day before my 6 mo. cleaning appt., the office called me 4 times in an hour to confirm my appt. I have not missed any appts. for years and told them 1 call was enough. When I arrived on time they gave me a 4 page form to fill out to update their records. It included my name, dob, ss #, medical and dental history, all of which they already had. They said they had to update records once a year and I told them a 1 page update form for any changes should have been sufficient. They did not tell me to come early to prepare this lengthy form. By this time my blood pressure was up which has never been high before. The hygienist looked in my mouth and sent in the dentist who said I needed a deep cleaning with no explanation of why or what that was. Then they sent in the office person I had already complained to and she told me the cleaning was over $2000. When I asked about my cleaning for today, she said she could not change the treatment plan, yet there was no dentist or hygienist there for me to ask questions. I did not understand why 6 months earlier when I told the dentist I was going on Medicare with no dental coverage, he told me everything was fine and to just keep doing what I had been doing, which I did. I told the office person I could not pay that and with no one else to talk to, I just left. No one has bothered to call or write me for an explanation or apology so I'm suspicious they just wanted my money and will bilk some other customer for the same. I'm also paranoid that my teeth are going to rot out or fall out before I can get an 8 mo. cleaning appt. with the local dentistry school. I would like to receive a written apology and explanation from the dentist as to what alternatives are available to this sudden treatment recommendation that I cannot afford.

Very interesting! They did the same thing to me. I never have cavities, my gums never bleed. The day that I came in for my cleaning I was due to get my X-rays. The hygienist did the X-rays and then started poking at my gums until they were bleeding. My gums never bleed. She had the dentist come in and he proceeded to tell me that I NEEDED A DEEP CLEANING! Kind of fishy don’t you think. My appointment was also in November 2018. There’s some type of scam going on. I called back the next day and declined the DEEP CLEANING and told them I just wanted my teeth cleaned. They said they couldn’t do that now since they put whatever saying I needed a DEEP CLEANING.

TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE!

I paid a lot of money to get it done right the first time and I don't have money to pay for something that was supposed to be done right and permanent to get redone and now the tooth is giving me problems and hurts really bad .

Dental Works crown

On June 21st 2018 I went to Dental works in Tinley Park Illinois to get a crown. I received a temporary Crown and was told I will get a call when my permanent crown arrive. After playing phone tag with them because they do not answer the phone I was able to get an appointment for July 22nd. I get there wait one hour just to be told it was a problem with the patient before me and it was Guarantee what time I will see the dentist. So I leave posted off. So now I have another appointment for August 27th. I get there and as the dentist was putting in my permanent crown it breaks! I waited 2 months to get this crown now I'm inform I have to wait another 2 weeks for ANOTHER crown. Eva the Dental assistant placed in my temporary Crown as I was leaving the office I get in the car and notice I have cement on my lips and gums. I go back into the office furious at this point. I ask why would she send her patients out like this? I get cleaned up go home and in 2 hours my temporary crown had some out. I go to the office the next day which is a work day. I had to be at work at 9am dental Works open at 10am so now I'm late for work. I speak to Haneen Alsweis and was told the crown was made with poor material and another patient had the same problem. Now I speak to Theresa which is the Patient quality assurance manager. I inform her of everything that was going on and ask her how could this all happen? No good answer from her, she informed me she would be speaking to her district manager and giving me a call back.
So now I wait again.

Dental Works wrong bill

Unfortunately my husband and I were patients at Dental Works Skokie in December of 2017. What happens is that the clinic didn't submit the X-rays requested from our insurance to cover the dental expenses and the clinic keeps sending us invoices as if we had to pay for a mistake they made.
We're in August and since January I made countless phone calls and spoke to managers who granted me that it was their fault and they'd submit our documents to the insurance and we should just ignore the invoice because they added a note in the system about it.
Now the last invoice says it has been over 90 days and probably they'll hit out credit negatively.

Dental Works hipaa violation on billing of family members over 18

My children emancipated from our family when they turned 18 years of age, but I still provide dental insurance coverage for them. According to HIPPA, medical and dental providers should have them listed under their own medical accounts to preserve privacy and make them accountable for their own expenses as an adult. However, according to HIPAA, they can still be carried under the parent's insurance until they are 26 years of age, but are responsible for their own expenses.

DentalWorks of Greenfield still associates the expenses of my emancipated, over 18 years of age children on my account, under my SSN. On 08/14/2019, Dentalworks said that I signed an agreement that I would still pay for their expenses, but that was back when they were children, less than 18 years of age.

In December of 2017, I specifically told DentalWorks that both of my children should be on their own account, and believe they were setup that way, as they gave my son, Michael Edward Scarbrough, who was 18 at the time, his own clipboard to collect his personal information.

On 07/06/2018, I received a dental bill under my name & account number, 463699, for my son's dental expenses for $84.20. I would like DentalWorks to clear my account and move my son's dental expenses to his own account.

Dental Works unprofessional, scam.

My son had his braces done at this location, . The first dentist was ok, but 3 months later she was gone, since than, they can't keep their dentist employed. Foe the last 3 years and 8 months, my son had 6 different ortodoncist, each one, gave us a different diagnostic for my son's treatment. NONE has done a good job and they don't stick around to finish the treatment. It's a joke this place. It's a money maker. Save your money and go where else where you can trust and feel on good hands. My son's teeth looked no much different from day one. Runnnnn away!@

Dental Works patient care

I had an appt at 130 it was almost 230 before I was even taken back to an exam room. No apology nor explanation. Once I was in the room it was another 5-10 minutes before someone came in and just put a bib on me and said they needed my wrist. I refused at this point because there was no greeting or introduction. I told this person I had never met them and they needed to introduce themselves. The next person came in and again wanted my wrist after the first person had already done it and just started moving around the room again with out introducing or greeting. I didn't know her either. She took x-rays and as she did them she was hurting me. I told her I couldn't bite down for the front x-rays because it was hurting me and there was no room for it. She replied, "this is the only way I can take them!" so I suffered. After she left I waited another 10 minutes for the hygienist. At this point I was ready to walk out because it was well after an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment. I got an excuse about an emergency and she had to take it. The hygienist rushed through the cleaning. Then the doctor proceeded to use dental language when talking to me instead of terms I could understand. I asked her to explain and she started telling me I needed to do all of these precautionary procedures that weren't necessary yet. At that point I finally said I wanted my dental records I was going elsewhere! I felt like a piggy bank. The girl at the desk handed me some papers which I assumed was my dental records. When I got home all it was was a picture and my patient info form that I filled out on my very first visit. I didn't get at all what was requested. I will not be returning. There is no reason to treat a patient this way and for basic common practice to be ignored!

Dental Works insurance coverage

I am now a senior citizen. I have medicare coverage with a suplamental policy with United Healthcare. The front of my insurance card even states that I have dental coverage.
I was told by dentalworks they DO NOT except ANY insurance plans that are associated with medicare.
It appears that if you are a senior citizen Dentalworks DOES NOT want your business.
I had no issues getting service from other dental companies. It appears seniors have no value to Dentalworks.

Dental Works late cancellation fee

My name is Kimberly Downing and I received a bill in the mail for a late fee. I was not able to cancel the appointment due to where I was at the time and I could not call.
I was not made aware of this fee when I made the appointment or I would of cancelled. I do not make it a habit of scheduling appointments and not showing up.
I also was unable to find anything on the website pertaining to late fees for non-canceled appointments.

I understand this may be your policy but I am asking for some assistance with waiving this fee as a goodwill.

Dental Works billing issue

My son had work done at Dental Works and they booked him an appointment for 6 months out. He then moved away to school and was not coming back until June. They billed us a 25.00 fee for not showing up. I called and said he was away at school and they said they sent a text as a reminder which the phone number she gave was an old work number of my husbands. He switched jobs in February 2016 and had to give up the phone his new company gave him a new phone with a new number. I said since this was a complete mix up would they wave the fee because if we would have gotten the text even though Mike couldn't go my husband would of taken the appointment because his teeth have been moving but the girl was rude and yelling so I asked for the manager and put my husband on he talked with Vernon Groenber who was extremely rude and he hung up the phone on my husband so my husband tried calling back 3 times on the phone we originally called on and no one would answer so he called on his new and of course they picked up and when my husband told him who he was they said sorry Vernon was busy. This is absolutely the worst customer service. We have 5 people who need cleanings in this house and with this type of costumer service I could never put my family through that again. We have new insurance with my husbands company and we planned on taking advantage of this benefit but I guess it won't be through dental works. For 25.00 they lost some good potential business.

Dental Works 2 different dental opinions/plans

On Saturday, April 21st, I was scheduled for a crown. I had a crown done in September 2017. This crown has given me trouble since receiving it. A dull pain that comes and goes. On this Saturday, I had different dentist from the one that did my first crown. The plan was that I get this crown and I would have two new, solid crowns in the back to support what the first dentist explained to me that I thought I was getting; a partial denture device that snapped in. This April 21st, Saturday I walked in and proceeded to pay my portion of $375.50. I go back and get my shots to numb me. Dr. Journey started discussing what was going on and that we were completing a crown that day. I told him my issue with the crown completed in September and the dull, constant ache. He stated I would probably need a root canal. He and I then discussed my crown that he was supposed to complete was for the denture, snap in device. He stated, "you mean a bridge?" I said no. He brings in a bridge model and shows me that this is what I should get and he wouldn't advise a denture. He said the crown would be a waste to do that day if I was getting a denture plate. That those crowns would not even be used and would be "cut off " for the denture plate device. I asked how much would a bridge be? I did not want to proceed without knowing cost. After a little time, a young girl came back with a chart of a number she pointed to. $2396, I believe. I at this point stated I was not having anything done and I did not have over $2, 000. I wanted my money of $375 returned to me. The girl that took my money, that was also the assistant said she rarely worked weekends and didn't know how to refund my money back. I asked that she have the manager contact me and refund my money.

I called Tuesday after no call Monday. Tuesday, Office Manager Lindsey was not available and on the other line and they stated they would have her return my call. Wednesday, I called around 3pm. The sweet receptionist, Brittany stated they were just talking about me. I spoke to Lindsey. I remember Lindsey well. She was at my initial appointment acting as an assistant and marking my teeth on a chart. She was openly commenting about my teeth that were missing and stating, "I don't know which one is which because she is missing so many teeth". I will never forget it and don't know why I proceeded to go back. Maybe because the sweet 2 hygienist there. One more seasoned and one of which is young that I have had.
Lindsey patronized me on Wednesday, April 25th on this call. The bottom line is 2 dentists with 2 different plans and last minute I was thrown for a loop and told the other dentists' plan was not a good one for me. I am glad I walked out without any work that day. My problem is the run around to get my $375 back. Lindsey gave me some excuse that she needed to "approve" it in the system. "It takes a few days" and this is "normal procedure". Today is FRIDAY. ALMOST 7 days later! Where is my money? I want refunded now. I paid with my debit card. Shouldn't be that difficult. I am not happy. I am angry that Lindsey felt the need to argue with me and patronize me. It is my money, my mouth. Rude, unprofessional and doesn't need to be there. I have worked hard to keep my teeth and complete dental work. I am happy with my smile, just don't feel like smiling going to Dental Works. I will make it known it is not a place I would recommend! I want my money back.

Dental Works pre-diagnostic test to help detect abnormalities of mucous membranes in the mouth

3/21/2018 - DentalWorks in Knoxville, TN, 6727 Clinton Hwy. - Dr. Aldama did the above procedure on me without my approval. He didn't warn me that he was doing this procedure. He gave me special glasses, told me to open up, starting poking around on my gums, and then rattling off numbers to Amanda. He only told me that I am taking care of my gums. Again, I never approved this procedure to me done on me. Was not happy when I checked on my insurance webpage that this procedure is not covered by my insurance. I feel like I should not have to pay the bill I was sent.

Dental Works service for bottom retainer

I called into Dentalworks to see if they could refasten one part of my bottom retainer. While I never actually got to see a real doctor, they told me they could easily fix the retainer and they said they checked with my insurance and assured me it would only cost me $30. They performed the fix, which took all of 3 minutes to do (while I waited in the chair for about an hour).

I paid my $30 and left. A few weeks later, I got another bill from them for an additional $49 for "limited oral evaluation." Never was this stated, I did not request an oral evaluation. They assured me all I would pay was $30.

This company does everything it can to nickle and dime you and get more money out of you by any means they can.

Dental Works dellagatta

Yesterday 2/12/18 I took my fiancé to get two teeth pulled. At first everything was fine but then the dentist Dellagatta was half asleep acting like he didn't even want to be at work. He approached saying "oh man I'm tired I don't even want to be here today, I know you don't, you're not gonna make me work too hard today are you". Talk about the last thing you want to hear from your "dentist". My fiancé proceeded to tell him he wants the two teeth pulled. So the dentist, Dellagatta, poked at both teeth to see which one hurt worse and said "oh well this one doesn't hurt you as bad so we will just remove this one"... last time he got a tooth pulled from there it took at least an hour between the numbing process and removal... this time he was in and out in like 20/30 minutes. He also wouldn't give him anything for pain, which is weird because at his initial visit (before he even got a tooth removed) they basically threw a pain killer prescription at him. We are both just overall disappointed with this visit and we will not be going back. As well we will be letting all of our family and friends know not to go there.
