Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Days Inn handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Days Inn and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Days Inn staff, safety, charges on my card

I stayed at the Days Inn on 7/13/ 2017, in Wilmington Delaware. My name is Andrew Zavarella. While staying at this location, an African-American man attempted to rob me. He seemed to be affiliated with the staff at the front desk who had several of her friends in the front lobby the entire evening. I was lucky enough to sneak out at the right time and walk a couple miles to where my vehicle was parked waiting for repairs the following day. I had a charge on my card for $89.71. This was for the room that I abandoned in the middle of the night for my own protection. This charge was completely understandable and acceptable. Upon looking at my bank statement right now, the Days Inn charged me an additional $500, even. Now I didn't even use the room for the entire evening and I certainly didn't damage anything. The person attempting to rob me most likely secured additional keys from his friends at the front desk. But you can clearly see me leaving in the middle of the night. What on Earth would I be charged 500 dollars for? Subsequently, I have noticed this charge overdrafted my account. In good faith, I request this matter be researched, cameras viewed, and upon conclusion that this charge was unnecessary, I would like the full 500 as well as the 89.71 refunded to me for everything that I went through and fees associated with the overdraft. The fact Still Remains that I did not even use the room for the entire evening as I was not and did not feel safe. Furthermore, I would like legal action pursued on the aggressor, staff, and all other folks in the front lobby that partook in making fraudulent charges on my card as well as putting Me In Harm and danger. As an avid Wyndham Rewards member- points and free stays would definitely make me feel better about using a Wyndham Resort in the future. If due diligence in this investigation is done, I guarantee that you will find I was mistreated and deserve some type of recourse . I am a business owner and I own a moving company. Myself and my staff I put all up in Wyndham Resorts all over the country at all months of the year. I would appreciate points or free stays- as you see fit- to make this right. Prior to entertaining my request, please research my complaint so you can see why I would request what I am requesting. Thank you.

Days Inn unethical business practices

On 8/12/17 my family and I planned a family reunion on the weekend of 8/12 thru 8/13. I booked 4 rooms(Order #[protected] Conf, #[protected]) thru Tickets at Work at the Sharonville, OH Days Inn location (11775 Lebanon Road, [protected]@gmail.com, [protected]).
Among their amenities was and outdoor pool, when the rooms were booked there were no notes that the pool was shutdown. I found out after we arrived that the health department shut the pool down. If I knew the pool was closed I could have booked with Days Inn East. So the manager (Older Gentleman) who choose to stay nameless. When I asked about some type of discount since my children and 5 grand children would have to go down the road to a local water park. I asked him let me talk to my family and find out what they wanted to do. We decided to stay at the hotel and spend the extra money on the water park. When I returned to the front desk I said we will take the four rooms and go to the water park. His response was I have already canceled the rooms. I asked about getting them back and he said you cannot have them back because we are booked up tonight and I can get double the money you paid in the next hour for the four rooms. I asked him for the corporate number, region managers number and he said there was no one above him that I could talk to.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Days Inn rooms

We stayed at Days Inn in Waco, Texas this past weekend Friday-Sunday. I have never complained about a motel before and we stay in a motel alot due to select baseball and traveling ALL Summer.  We arrived Friday night late 10-11pm, checked in, got to our room and it was so HOT we were all sweating bad, our room should not have been that hot that late. We gave it a good hour to cool off and well it didnt so I walked down to the office and spoke with the lady and she was super sweet! We got moved to the other side of motel, drove over there walked in room and the disaster begins.  We were moved to a smoking room, it smelt horrible but at this point it was cool in the room we didnt care. I had looked on priceline at the rooms and the pictures looked nice, so thats why we choose here. I dont expect much at ALL from a room but to atleast look kinda like the pics and well be a little clean.. im NOT picky at all bit this was disgusting.  Im going to send pictures and you can also decide what you think. They had already charged my card for 2 days otherwise I would have left and found somewhere clean atleast. When the pictures advertised about the motel online arent even close to what the rooms look like thats a problem (LOL) but all in all its not funny.  The staff was nice, but that does not make up for what your paying for.. like I said I dont expect much at all but atleast be clean. The pre authorized hold on my card wouldn't have been off in time for me to go pay another almost 200$ elsewhere to stay, we were pretty much stuck . Im going to include pics of our room and what our room was suppose to atleadt come close to looking like. I was embarrassed for my own child I felt horrible and he had a friend w him, it was horrible . Thanks Alot -Lori Schiller

The date of August 3rd, 2017 we stayed the night at Days Inn Hotel at the address of 372 White Hill Road Staunton, VA 24401. When accessing the bathroom, the bathtub was not properly cleaned, and there was hair in the bathtub. The next day, we had breakfast in the morning which was not pleasant at all. The bread was very hard, the fruit tasted old, and was not fresh.

Days Inn my stay at days inn dickson city pa, aug 2-5 2017

When I first checked in, I was shown to room #214, which wasn't made up yet (4:30 PM). Then I was sent to #209, which faced a very steep incline at the road and had a lot of men working on this slope outside my window, pulling weeds and doing mulch & I was SO uncomfortable seeing this,
it seemed like they were looking right into my room! So- again I asked to switch rooms. Lolita told me there were absolutely none available. I told her I didn't believe her. We went back & forth like this for 15 min, with Lolita being aggravated at ME for asking for another room, . I suggested she just switch me to a room that wasn't checked into yet. She suddenly found room #202; After bringing in my luggage and my dog to this second room, I went out to dinner & went into the hotel bathroom for the first time when I came back about 10::00.  To my disgust I saw the filthy bathroom. There were spills down the walls, a dirty tile floor and really filthy tile baseboards & tub, and a plastic floss stick on the floor next to the garbage can which was NOT mine! The corner of the hall where you came into my room was never vacuumed, and covered in dirt and dead bugs! In the morning I called the front desk & asked Lolita to come look at the room...Wanda came to my room to see it.. She was visibly both disgusted and embarrassed in witnessing how dirty the room, bed & bathroom were. There was litter under the bedclothes on one bed - obviously those sheets were not changed, so I shudder to think when the sheets were last changed in that other bed I slept in ?! About 45 minutes after Wanda went back to the front desk Lolita came up with a key to Room #218, and tried to quickly leave without  looking at the bathroom as I had asked her to do.  I insisted she come to see for herself that I wasn't making this up & after barely/quickly looking she just said (without even looking me in the eye) "go to room #218". Once again I repacked my and my dog's things, and it took several trips for me to move from #202 to #218 and unpack again. The room itself was cleaner inside, but still a very dirty tub, tile floor and especially filthy tile baseboards. What is it with these bathrooms? Why don't they get scrubbed clean? The bathroom walls in BOTH 202 & 218  had spills down them, as if 1/2-full coffee cups were thrown towards the waste basket...but the spills were never cleaned up!  I have never stayed at such a dirty place in my life and I wasted a $200 Travelocity credit to stay there, as I had already purchased tickets to two nights' events in Scranton.

I'm a handicapped senior, and was traveling with my dog. Having to unpack, repack and move all of my luggage AND my dog from one room to another caused me an awful lot of stress, which caused an increase in my (chronic) pain level. This was all a terrible experience for me.

Seriously, I think Travelocity should drop this hotel from their listing. Not only is the inside dirty, but the outside was full of high weeds growing up around the front and sides of the building - like a place that was out of business. The doors and windows are all covered in prints & spills -- doesn't anyone even check this sort of thing here? I had to come into the side door at night after coming back from the events because I have a handicap placard and need to park as close as I can to the door - and it was pitch black out there...NO lights at all, which was very scary for this elder, handicapped woman !

I have taken quite a few photos on my cell phone, if you would be interested in seeing them.  The ones without the room key are room #202, and I held up the key to room #218 to show which room that was.

Days Inn room was disgusting. did not stay and did not get refund.

I checked in to the Days Inn in Lebanon valley, located at 625 Quentin Road, Lebanon PA, 17042. It was by far the most disgusting hotel room I have ever experienced. It was evident that the room was not cleaned at all prior to my check in, and the state of the room was appalling. There were several piles of hair in the floor, a clipped toe nail on the floor lamp, trash on the floor, and several stains on the carpet. The sheets and bed spread looked like they had not been changed or washed and there were cigarette burn holes in the duvet on the bed (in a non-smoking room, mind you). The desk in the room was dirty and beat up. It also had several cup marks on the surface. The desk chair was also very dirty. There was a layer of dust on everything, from the desk, to the beds, to the fridge, to the television. The television did not work properly as every channel contained a heavy layer of static. The bathroom contained what appeared to be a large urine stain on the floor and wall near the toilet. The tub also had several stains and looked like it had not been cleaned. The mirror was covered in dirt as well. Within 20 minutes of arriving we decided we could not stay in hotel that allowed the rooms to be in such a deplorable condition. We immediately returned to the front desk and said we would not be staying for either night we booked and demanded a refund. The manager attempted to switch our room, but after my experience in the first room I did not want to spend another minute in that hotel. The manager refused to refund me both nights and gave me only one night. This was the only time I had ever been in a hotel room that I simply could not bring myself to sleep in. Fortunately I was able to book another hotel in the area (the Wyndham in Mechanicsburg) upon leaving to avoid sleeping in my car. However, there was no way I was sleeping in that deplorable hotel given the condition of the room I was given. I have stayed at plenty of Days Inn in the past and have never had such a problem. I would therefore ether like a refund of both nights or a credit for a future stay, as I know not all hotels in this group are in such a state as the one I had the misfortune of booking.

First off, Days Inn? It's a Motel, not a Hotel. Secondly, Days Inn means nothing these days. Some are well kept (Kingman, AZ, West is an example) many are bedbug traps only good for having a quick screw and leave. Let's get English right again. MOTEL - not Hotel. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Days Inn reservations

Had to provide a credit card number to reserve a room. This is a card that seldom gets used and my number never gets out. A couple hours later around 10 unknown charges appear on my card which tells me an employee at the days inn near the Phoenix AZ airport got a hold of it and started using it. Called the Days Inn directly and they don't want to deal with the situation and I also cancelled the reservation.

The room was hot and stuffy, I opened a window but did not get any airflow. We decided the conditions for staying in this room were not acceptable. We went to the front desk to see if there was another room that would not be hot, and had services available. They informed me there was not another room in my category available.not could They tell when services would be restore. They were unable to give a refund. We feel the conditions of the room and services were unacceptable for the money paid, and would l8ke to request a refund for our stay. They said to contact management. This hotel is in disrepair, the carpet is dirty and coming up, please look into this hotel as I do not think it is a repectable show of your brand name, and causing loss of our future buisness.

Days Inn days inn pensacola west florida

The room was filthy! We cleaned the room made our own beds. We emptied the trash also. What they called housekeeping came one day but nothing was cleaned. There was thick dust on the base of the TV and dresser it sat on. There was drug use in plain sight and possibly prostitutes. A woman in a nearby room found a syringe and drugs in the bathroom of her room. Very large aggressive dogs allowed to stay at this location also. Pool are scattered with trash. The pool itself need cleaned better. Tables broken umbrellas broken. What they called the grill was nasty broken unusable. If we could have afforded to stay elsewhere we would have. I guarantee this is a nightmare we will never visit again. I requested a refund but have heard nothing from them concerning that. I am considering reporting this hotel to the local health department.

Days Inn terrible customer service

I reserved a business suite and was put in a business room. I upgraded my room to a double bed room for an extra $5.00. I was told when I spoke to the receptionist that I was having a birthday party for my daughter and her as well as her guests would be accompanying her at the pool. I was told by Sonia the receptionist that it was not a problem and kids were welcomed never was I informed that I would be charged one hr 5 dollars and the next hour 10 dollars. My guests and I arrived at the pool after check in and was being taunted by the young man at the pool with a clip board. He immediately told me that I had to pay 5 dollars for the extra 10 guests that I had there. I went to the lady at the front desk Sonia was her name Nd paid the 50.00 for my guests. I look at my account and see that I'm being charged 60.00 for what? I asked the man who originally told me I had to pay how much was it to get in the pool he stated it was 10.00. I questioned him as to why the prices were being changed he told me I was being and I quote a "mother [censor]er" and how I was drunk and how he was going to get me kicked out etc. First and foremost I'm a mother to two young kids I'm a single mother at that so when someone is cussing at me in front of my children as well as my guests I will not tolerate any of that behavior. What would have happened if one of my guests would have reacted inappropriately to his comment in my defense? It would've been our problem? That was uncalled for.
However I dismissed the conversation with him and went to the receptionist and questioned her. She was unable to tell me why they were charging me 60 dollars after I paid her 50 for my guests to be at the pool. I asked her for the pool policy to see where it states that guests would be charged to swim at their pool. No where in the policy does it state that they have a fee to pay for individuals to swim. I was charged a fee of 110 for 10 guests to swim at the pool all without my signature or my authorization. I agreed to the 50 but not the 60, and the 60 was taken out with out my consent. I expect to be refunded my 110.00 if not my 60.00. I have the policy in front of me and it states no where a pool fee. I'm one upset customer I tried to have a wonderful birthday for my daughter and it back fired. I didn't deserve to be embarrassed or harassed while staying at this location. I would like some type of refund on my money.
I'm sorry and I apologize
- Brittni Gonzalez

Days Inn days inn ormond beach, fl

To whom it may concern:

My family and I checked into your property in Ormond Beach with address of 1608 North US 1 on July 21, 2017. Our room was filthy. The shower had mildew and the toilet was still dirty. There were only towels for 2 people – there are 3 of us – so my husband found one of the housekeepers still cleaning rooms at 3 p.m. and asked her for a few extra towels. She rudely told him no and wouldn’t give him any extra towels. He proceeded to go to the front desk to ask for some and there was no one available except for children running around lobby. One of the children went to the back to tell someone there was someone at the front who needed some help and my husband heard a woman tell the child to tell him they were busy and come back later. I found a bug in the bed my 7-year-old daughter had slept in as well as a dead roach in the bathroom. The wall beside the trash can was filthy and hadn’t been wiped down. We had booked the room for a total of 4 nights. Every day we had to ask for extra towels – and it was ridiculous how we had to track someone down every day to get extra towels. They never changed the sheets while we were there. The final day – and we left a day early due to the nastiness of the room and terrible service – we had gone to the beach and were out of the room until 3:45 p.m. When we returned at that time our room STILL was not clean. I went to the front desk to inquire why our room wasn’t clean and the gentleman at the desk said he would have someone down there as soon as possible. By 4:05 p.m. when they still had not arrived I again went to the front desk and asked for sheets and towels so that I could make the beds. I even had to take out the trash several times because they didn’t do that either. I am appalled that we were treated that way by a well-known chain. My husband and I decided that we had enough and checked out a night early – we left at 7 p.m. and drove home to Tennessee. When I returned the key cards to the front desk and told them we were leaving early the gentleman at the front desk told me that he had been brought to second shift to deal with all of the problems they had been having with the staff. I had submitted a complaint through your website but 450 characters isn’t enough space to give you my opinion on your facility. The general manager for that property offered me a refund for one night – which I still have not received - I feel that I wasted $300 on my vacation with our stay at your property. We travel quite frequently and normally use a Wyndham property as we enjoy the amenities at most locations. However, after this experience, I think we will find another chain who offers better customer service and friendly staff members who are glad we are staying there instead of acting like they don’t have time for their guests and don’t realize that guests are the driving force behind their paychecks.

Days Inn breathing issues-lint/fibers coming into room/dirty carpet

Date: 07/25/2017

To: Days Inn Management

My wife and I recently attended the Miss South Teen USA pageant held in Adel, Georgia on the evening of 07/22/2017 and reserved a room(101) that night at the Days Inn at 1204 West Fourth Street, Adel, G. 31620.

We arrived in Adel around 12.00 a.m. Only to learn that we will not be able to check into our room until 3:00 p.m., Which required us to entertain ourselves for three hours. When we return, the desk clerk gave us our room assignment and the door keys. Upon arrival to our room, the doorway and sidewalk in front of the door was blocked with at least five (5) laundry carts, and we realized that we where adjacent to the Inn's laundry room. Washers and dryers were steady going, noisy and throwing out a lot of fiber into the air, sticking to the exterior wall outside the laundry room and around the door.

Upon entering our room, the carpet was observed as being very unsanitary, dirty in many spots, we were very cautious about walking around barefooted. After staying in the room for about two hours and changing clothes to attend the pageant, the wife started complaining about breathing and the smell coming into our room. Our oldest daughter, who's daughter was in the pageant entered the room and within five minutes started asking about what was in the air, and hard to breath.

After investigating, it was obvious that the smell and breathing problem was due to the dust from the laundry room. My wife stepped outside the door before we left for the pageant and took pictures of the exterior of the laundry room, having lint stuck all around the doors and walls of the laundry room. I checked the air filter in our air conditioner and it was full of lint, which I removed.

We did not report this at the time of discovery, which was our mistake. Due primarily to the time the pageant was scheduled to start. However, let me state that this room needs to be closed off completely for health reasons. Our pet dog, which stayed with us in the room, is having serious problems today coughing continuously, like she cannot breath.

This room, when you take a serious look, appears to have been part of the laundry room at one time, and was closed off and the room added.

Upon departure around 7:00 a.m., 07/23/2017, my wife reported the issue of the lint coming from the laundry room and entering the room through the vents and the air conditioner. The desk clerk, said this was the first time, anyone had complained.

Something, needs to be done immediately and I am pondering the ideal of contacting the EPS and/or the health department nearest Adel, to check into same. Appreciate, some reply from you on what, if any corrective actions you are taking. Thank you in advance.

Days Inn cleanliness/staff

I would like to first inform you that we did reach out to the staff to rectify the complaints provided. It has since become a he/she said situation between the Manager/Staff and myself. There were gnats all throughout both rooms I was provided to stay in. Mildew smell filled the room from the air conditioner being turned on. Water pressure was very weak in the sink. Soap holder in the shower fell off the wall completely. Base boards and door boards were broken in the room, I was aware they had some renovations going on in the hotel I did not expect to be put into a room that would fall apart. The staff was made aware of the Gnats upon checking in nothing was done until the next morning by the third shift employee that gave us some sort of solution in a jar to help, with no help gnats were swatted and killed all through the room the entire stay with no solution to move our room. Upon returning from a night out and waking up for check out I found that the soap holder was off the wall. When we found out the soap holder fell it was the morning of our check out I informed the front desk she even took note of what I was telling her I did not want to be held responsible for any damages. I have a pictures attached as well to go along with the wood on the doors broken off I could not however take a picture of the mildew smell that came from the air conditioner in the rooms. In any case that we spoke with someone from the front desk they informed us they would take care of it but nothing was done by the staff with multiple attempts to rectify the situation. I would like these photos to be reviewed and compensation for these inconveniences.
