Currys Lenovo desktop

Contacted Currys Care and Repair team on 4th Dec after visiting in store to advise that the power cord to my desktop had failed. Was issued a call number and told that it would take 10 - 14 days for the part to be sent/received. Waited until for that time period and called again when it did not arrive. Was told that they had ordered the wrong part and a new call would have to be opened as the old one had been closed. Waited again, part came but it was the wrong item. Went back in store to ask if they could place a call for me so that they could order the correct part or supply me with a replacement. Was told no, I had to place the call. They did however google and found a similar item on Amazon. Placed another call with the care and repair team, with an advisor that sounded like he was still in bed, and was told that there was no way the part could be expedited and I would need to wait for it to come in the post. Part duly arrived, wrong part sent again. This was now the 30th Dec and I had been unable to use my desktop during this time. New call placed. I asked to exercise my right for a replacement or voucher under the terms of my care contract and was told this was not possible because there was not an open call, at no point had any contact been made to ask if the issue was resolved, and it would not be possible because 42 days had not passed. The contract clearly states 7 days. Asked to speak to a more senior member of staff and was told that it would not be possible as managers were not customer facing and there was no call open. Spent over an hour being sent through different departments to eventually find an operative that would schedule a call with a manager.

An equally frustrating 20 minutes was spent speaking with her. Her view was that there would be no recompense because I had not taken the item into store. I had advised her and the previous customer service person that I had taken the power cord to store and they had kept it. I was then told that because I had not taken the desktop as a whole in that I had not followed the process. Again I advised that at no point during any of the previous calls placed was I told that I needed to do that. All in all a complete failure of any customer service and disregard of the contract that I had signed and been paying for for over 2 years.

Desired outcome: A replacement item or voucher as per the care and repair contract

Currys Refund of extended warranty still not received after 4 months!!!

Sept 5 2023 ordered TV online from Currys with extended warrenty and delivery paid for by visa, delivered on the 7th and taken back to Currys in Chelmsford as faulty (screen only had horizontal line and no picture. Opted to have a different Tv, arrived home and discovered this one had wrong remote so did not function, returned it on the 8th to discover this Tv end of line and they did not have correct remote so cancelled order and had a partial refund and told the warrenty refund would take 3 weeks and come as a cheque in the post.

Waited 4 weeks and returned to Currys in Chelmsford and spoke to Grace who contacted customer servives by phone and was told order had not been cancelled and that my refund would take 4 weeks by post. It did not arrive so contacted Currys by email to their help and support centre after xmas and received an email from Shahid saying he needed a copy of my bank statement or my bank card details for proof of purchase even though I had already sent warrenty agreement number, I refused to send anything relating to my bank account but did send a copy of my puchase by email. Since then I have heard nothing and still no cheque for my refund of £23.40 which I am entitled to

Claimed loss: £23.40

Currys Pensions

I used to work for Currys and think that I might have a dormant pension.

I worked for the company between 1971 and 1974 in the Uxbridge High Street, Uxbridge Middlesex UK store and need to see if there was a company pension scheme at this time..

I have tried for 2 days now to get a contact number with no luck. The nearest I can get is PO Box number for Sheffield so that I can write a letter.

Amazing to think that this is a tech company with a pension department that does not have phone contact? unbelievable

Desired outcome: A phone conversation with a human being

Currys Unit 15 corby retail park the phoenix parkway corby nn17 5dt

My wife and I went into Corby Currys store about 9.45am today to buy a tv. We looked at a few and noticed that there were only one or 2 to view, so we asked a salesthem (I do not want to misgender) so from now on I will refer the staff as them, We were told that they could not have too many tv`s on, due to something about flashing lights and sounds were not allowed due to this `ism` or what ever them called it. QUIET TIME. We looked at a TV a LG C3 Evo. We went to the (them) and asked to view it , them did, but no sound. We agreed to buy and went to pay. We asked about delivery and `them` told us we had to submit our Name..Address..Postcode...email address and phone. This we did and were told DELIVERY would be 16/12/23. We agreed this told `them` we would go and get the money. We came back 20mins later with £2000, We were then asked for all our details again, which we submitted again. Only to be told the Delivery would now be 21/12/23, we questioned this and `them told us THE COMPUTER SAYS NO.

So we said NO. My question to you is 1. What is Quiet time. 2. Do you want to sell Tv`s to Normal Adults in their 70`s, or is it ageism against us. 3. ALL WE WANTED WAS A TV,,,NOT A LECTURE ON QUIET TIMES.

WE WILL NEVER BUY FROM CURRYS AGAIN.

Depending on your response I may consider giving this story to SOCIAL MEDIA.

Yours Mr D Williams

Currys Cooker

Despicable service! Cooker broke - in October (we are now in December). They sent another with fitters to install who decided to play electrician and state it couldn’t be connected with the fuse I have - despite it was a like-for-like, replacing a cooker that has been there for two years! I raise this in store (Nottingham), who send out two different engineers who say the last two didn’t know what they were talking about and the electric circuit is perfectly fine (one was an electrician). They unbox the cooker left by the last two engineers to find it damaged, so couldn’t fit it. They raised yet another delivery (a third cooker and I still have the broken one AND the damaged one in my house). No one bothers to turn up on that delivery. I go into the store and they state it was cancelled by the fitters as they had told me to re order the cooker myself and as I hadn’t, they cancelled fitting! Which was not true! I spent two hours in store whilst this ongoing issue - which is now 2 months ongoing - was dealt with. They inform me the cooker is now out of stock (probably because they are all in my house!) and it’s highly unlikely it will be in stock or be fitted before Christmas. So not only will it be three months by the time I get the cooker, I am without one for Christmas. So no Christmas dinner for my family! I ask to speak to the manager as the front of store staff are running back and forth to speak to him. He says he will be 2 minutes. I ask again and again and again when he doesn’t come. Staff keep going to get him. After half an hour they call him to see if he is coming to speak to me and he says he has gone home! I leave the store after 2 hours with no real resolution - just wait to see! Oh - and an apology which I am sure covers the hundreds of pounds I’ve spent on takeaways, meals out and the lack of a Christmas dinner! They offered me another cooker which was £50 more than the one i have but was a different colour and one I didn’t like. Today I received a call from a store manager who wasn’t at work when I had gone in the day before. He had picked up an email from the staff regarding my issue. He told me there is nothing they can do and said that I was offered another cooker which I declined! I highlighted that no one was GIVING me anything for free, this was not a charitable donation. I had PAID for the original cooker and was made to feel that if I didn’t accept any old cooker they were offering, then I’ve had my chance, so tough luck! Again I repeated the cooker they offered wasn’t the same colour and I shouldn’t just have to make do with something - that cost over £400. Again he said ‘well that’s it’. I asked his name and he gave me his Christian name- I asked for his last name and he refused to give it! The customer service in store (by front of house team) was brilliant and they were very apologetic and didn’t try to defend Curry’s and noted that I have not had a satisfactory service. However, one manager refused to speak to me and the other spoke to me with utter disrespect and made me feel like I’m in the wrong! I have emailed the CEO (who gives his last name, even though Jim won’t)! I have called to lodge a complaint as calls are recorded. Please avoid Curry’s at all costs! Managers done give a damn and customer care is out of the window. Meanwhile I will enjoy my apology and tough luck for Christmas dinner!

Desired outcome: Compensation and - the actual content I paid for and have waited for - for months!!!!!!!

Currys Replacement of damaged delivered washing machine

My washing machine arrived on Friday and upon unpackaging the machine. I noticed that it was wobbling, and when I looked at the reason for this, it was bent underneath where the feet are, and damaged to the side, and, and the door wasn’t aligned. so I telephoned your team straight away to be told I would get help within 48 hours. We are now on Sunday and I’ve been told today that I now have to wait until Tuesday before this is actioned which is cosmic much inconvenience as if I’ve already had two weeks lots of washing to do already including uniforms and I have also been told that there will give me a date and time of when they are going to deliver. Bearing in mind I work five days a week and I took Friday off. For this reason I would like my replacement washing machine to be delivered as soon as possible please. I’m working from home on Tuesday so I would like it to take place then and I would also like a discount for the inconvenience that this is caused whether this was damaged in transit, I don’t know but not having someone to sort this out over the weekend I find extremely Poor customer service.

Desired outcome: I would like a recipe replacement washing machine delivered on Tuesday and I would like some money knocking off my overall cost of the washing machine

Currys proooduct, Apple Air 15m225

I purchased this product on the 16th of November.

I have been told

by the store I purchased it from that I cannot return this product. I have been to

the store 4 times complaining that the machine wont access my password. They have looked at it and supposedly reset it.

Each time I have been back because it doesn't work. It will not recognise my access pass.

I am 75 and in bad health. I have paid £1400 plus insurance and I am not prepared to go back again.

I want my money back and in full. If I do not get a reinburssement. It means I might as well throw this machine away.

Although £1400 is not a lot of money to you or Apple. It took me 18 month to save this money.

The store is reluctant to reimberse my money in Warrington.

I must now insist that I get my money back

Claimed loss: £1658,00 includinnng insurannce

Desired outcome: I want my money back

Currys Samsung TV

I would like to complain about my Samsung television which broke down last week. While watching the BBC iplayer the screen froze and then failed to show any image despite all efforts. I contacted Curry's by phone and was directed to Samsung who informed me that my television was out of warranty. They offered me a significant discount if I purchased a new TV through them but had my concerns, so I bought a new JVC television from Currys, but missed out on the 25% discount.

I am concerned that this product is less than 2 years old (receipt attached), and I see that case law suggests that an average life expectancy of a television should be 5 years but typically last for 8-11 years or 50000 hours of use. I see that there have been successful claims through the small courts for very similar cases in the past.

I believe that I am due some recompense for the unusually short life span which my product lasted, and I would be grateful if you could consider a proportionate offer of compensation to save me taking further action.

Claimed loss: 60% product cost

Desired outcome: Early resolutio

Currys Microsoft office 365 subscription

recently I purchased a PC online with Currys and PC World with the bundle of Office 365 McAfee security and Currys iCloud backup. On setting up the computer I tried to remove the silver strip on the back of the Office 365 redeemable voucher to which the number smudged and even some fell off. After contacting Microsoft they advised me to go back to the Currys store to resolve the issue. In the store I was there told that this was a Microsoft issue and therefore should resolve it with them. However, after speaking to Microsoft again they brought up that because I purchased this with a third party it is their responsibility. After contacting Currys again online they said this was a store issue even though I had already been to a store. So I decided to contact Currys by phone. After speaking to two departments I was dismissed again and given another phone number to contact called the product activation team which was an unrecognised number. I therefore look forward to hearing from yourselves before involving Trading standards.

Thank you, Neil Gurmin

Desired outcome: I want the faulty product replaced

Currys TV installation and purchase of a faulty wall bracket.

September 2022 we purchased an LG 55 inch Tv from you .

We also purchased a SANDSTROM wall bracket for £99.99 and paid £150 for installation of the TV on the wall and set up.

We have never really been happy with the action of the wall bracket. It was always difficult to move in and out. Now, it is not working properly and it has started to come off of the wall. This is an outside wall and is in perfectly good condition, so there is not a problem with the wall.

We feel it is a problem with the installation and the bracket itself.

We have been into the store where we bought it and they are not interested because it is over one year old. They could not give us any information about the company. I have tried to find a contact number or email address for them, but cannot seem to find any information about the company at all.

I have investigated and found I can purchase a strong TV bracket for half the price of this one. It will not help with the installation costs, I shall have to pay someone else (again) to put it on the wall, but I do feel that I should be able to be paid back for this faulty item. I can supply copies of receipts

Claimed loss: At least the cost of this bracket £99.99Ideally the cost of the original installation. £150

Desired outcome: A new bracket to be supplied and fitted free of charge

Currys Customer service

On the Sunday 19th November my son and my myself went to Kingsway Curry’s in Derby to return an item. This was around 2.15 pm and we were dealt by John on customer service. Can I say this person was very rude and confrontational. My son had used his birthday money to buy a very expensive console which was £700. The item was purchased on the 9th November and still under the 28 days return guarantee. According to him if it’s opened we are not entitled to our money back? I have checked with my solicitor and they have informed my that this is incorrect. I am appalled and upset by the treatment I received from your staff. As we were leaving I was a couple of your staff laughing at us. This is unacceptable behaviour and I will be pursuing this matter further

Claimed loss: Dignity, time and money

Desired outcome: Compensation

Currys Delivery of fridge freezer

Order no 7447449662 delivered with two dents in freezer door, immediately, I tried to ring 03445611234 (as advised on the order confirmation) on 3 attempts but was unable to get through at all.

Reluctantly, I accepted delivery with 10% discount, this was confirmed by delivery driver, after he contacted Currys.

However when they attempted to change the fridge freezer doors around, from right side opening to left side opening (which is an option of the delivery and installation which has been paid for) they lost one of the screws behind one of the panels inside the freezer and therefore could not complete the task.

Effectively they could not complete the delivery.

(even if they had spare screws which they obviously did not have, I would not accepted delivery with a rough screw floating around in the body of the freezer)

I asked them to return the freezer and subsequently Currys have been informed by the delivery driver and Currys have given me a new order number 7447456948 for the same fridge freezer but they have not given me a date for the delivery.

When is it going to be delivered?

I have called 03445611234 and 03445610000 repeatedly but they cannot tell me the delivery date (that's when you can get through to them!)

I am surprised at such a well established company as Currys have such a poor delivery service but even more disappointed with the customer service I have so far received.

Currys Television sales service

Robert Renshaw
39 Brown Edge Road,
Holts Estate,
Oldham, OL4 5QG,
Tel: [protected] email [protected]@gmail.com
Order Reference Number [protected] from Curry's Elk Mill, Oldham, dated Wednesday 22 November 2023
50" LG television plus installation. Receipts available.
I am an old man, 75, and suffer from stress and other medical issues including mobility problems and bad eyesight hence my desire to have the TV installed by Curry’s. The whole sorry business has upset me deeply
I am writing to express my absolute disgust and frustration at the way I have been treated by Curry's, I bought a television on 13 November to be installed on Monday 20 November. It arrived as planned but it was the wrong television. It had to go back. The agents who arrived to install it did not reconnect my old television back up properly on realising that they had the wrong TV. It failed to work and it took me an hour to fathom out what had gone wrong. I am connected via a BT box set up. I couldn't get my BT box to work properly either. This left me feeling very upset and very stressed.
The following day I had to get a taxi to your Elk MIll store and sort out what had gone wrong. I managed to get the right television and a new installation and delivery date was set for Wednesday 23 between 14.50 and 18.50.
I waited and waited but it failed to turn up. Instead I got a message at 20.00 telling me that it had been cancelled and rebooked for the 30 November. I was not even asked or given an opportunity to select a new date. Now I have to wait another eight days. I first bought my TV on the 13 November. Come on Curry’s, I have still not got it. It’s a really poor show.
This is the worst service I’ve ever had in such a great store. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. To be fair Curry's Elk Mill did refund me for the unnecessary taxi journey down to sort out the problem and I was assured that all would be well now. Well, it wasn’t. Now I've got to go again.
I'd had to buy a new TV because my old one developed screen problems, lines all across the screen with intermittent flashing. And guess what? It was a 50" JVC which I bought from Curry's only two years ago.
I would appreciate a quick response. Thank you
Incidentally, I edit a community magazine and would hate to write a short article outlining the poor service I experienced at Curry’s.

Desired outcome: To get my TV delivered and installed quickly. Compensation for the stress and upset would not go amiss either.

Currys Accessing my renewal care & repair plan

Having received a letter from Currys to say that my Care & Repair was due to expire on 24 November, I sat down and filled in the form for renewal. My reference number is G2BM94FE. I received the message that my payment was being processed and it would take 15 seconds. I waited 10 minutes and nothing happened. I rang up the phone number given in your letter but just could'nt get an option that would help. I then rang the other number given on my mobile being [protected]. I explained all to you associate but he told me that they had a problem with my address! I said that the plan should have my address as 2,Hunters Roost,250,Kings Ash Road,Paignton.TQ33XL. But this seemed to be in conflict with what he had. Now I have attempted to try another of Currys means of contact but when I enter the ref No as shown above, it tells me that it has already been used!

Please help. I want to renew but having no success! In addition, what has happened to the payment that was being processed ? Has it gone through and if so, why have i not had a reply!

Hopefully you will be able to resolve this.

In addition, the letter received has the correct address so why is there a problem with the address on my plan?

In anticipation

Robert

Currys Fail to deliver order

Order CUR2341748916

I am writing to complain about the above order placed on Thursday 9th Nov for a iPhone 15 plus and Apple Watch series 9 all was going well order was confirmed we received a email saying dispatched to DPD for next day delivery ( payed for this) . Friday family eagerly awaiting delivery at allocated time, no knock door bell ring but txt from DPD unable to delivery no one home and will be left in designated lockers following day. Saturday awaiting formation of code to lockers no email, DPD driver on estate informed he had the said items for delivery yesterday on his list but warehouse was unable to locate package, DPD contacted will attempt to send on Monday , Monday no delivery contacted Currys system Staes at DPD depot as unable to delivery ( never attempted as no parcel to deliver) this has continued till Wednesday when my husband contacted Currys and initiated a recall of parcels from DPD to Currys after a long phonemail to Currys. DPD update system to order on way to Currys. This was the same this afternoon so contacted Currys again who stated returned received to Currys however the watch was out of stock so could not be sent and I would received a email to re order ( how could it have been dispatched for delivery if it was out of stock? ) it is now out of stock but the phone would be redelivered by DPD upon confirmation of curry processing return from DPD. This was gift for my child for their birthday and after a week of backwards and forwards and £1300 of money paid I have no phone or watch no idea when and if I will get the order just lots of empty promises and to add salt to the wound daily multiple emails for Currys about how my new phone is and all the things we can do with it - this indeed would be wonderful. I would like this fully investigated as it seems that either

1: Currys never sent order tor only part order and that is why DPD could not deliver

2: DPD lost order - but this has now been found to return to Currys on request

3: the information given by employees of Currys is incorrect information and being said to placate me as my anger levels rise.

I have spent money and now numerous amounts of time on this and feel the service given by Currys ( I have been a loyal customer for many years) is shocking.

I would like a swift resolution response and a good will gesture for this to be resolved and for Currys to retain me a customer

Regards

Julie Mitchell

Currys Customer service

We purchased a logik range cooker from currys in march 2023 I was having work being done in the kitchen so got my electrician to put in a cooker switch and install the cooker. In october the fan in the oven started to make a loud noise I called currys repair team which then sent out a technician and told me the fan motor needs replacing but he needed to order the part. The technician that came out said that the fan motor should of lasted 6years or more.

Two and a half weeks later (not the seven days promise that is advertised) I got a text stating that the part wont be available until december the 15th and may not get fitted before christmas. I think this is unacceptable, I called the repair team who told me that they could replace the cooker and I was told to ring currys to arrange this which I did but then issues started to begin. I asked the operative on the phone who was going to install the cooker and I was told that I would have to pay the cost I then ask to speak to a manager and she put the phone down on me, I called again spoke to someone else asked the same questions and I got the same reply I then ask to speak to a manager and was told that no managers were available but she said one would ring me at 2pm the next day. No one rang.

I went into a currys store thinking I would get a better respond but that was a waste of time and no one was willing to help me and when I asked to speak to a manager was told that I couldn't.

My complaint is this a faulty cooker where I can't get the part fitted until january, been offered a new cooker instead but then told I pay the cost of £150 to have this refitted when I have already done this.

I then asked for a refund for my cooker so I could purchase another cooker elsewhere and was told that wasn't a option.

The break down of the cooker is not my fault so why should I one have to wait so long to be fixed and two if I go with the other option pay.

I think the customer service I have received is so poor and unacceptable. Not being able to speak to a manger or getting call back when this was arranged by you.

Over the years I have brought a lot of items and never been treated like this

I look forward to you getting back me me on this matter in the next few days.
