Cub Cadet Parts ordering on cub cadet website and extremely poor customer service

I have tried to order an electric PTO switch for a week. The website keeps stating the order cannot be processed at this time, try again later or call customer service. I tried it 39 times over the course of 4 days. Got the same error every time. So I called customer service case numbers [protected] and case [protected]. Customer Service tried to place the order for me and they got the same error. They then told me twice I would have to wait 24 - 48 hours to try my order again. They also told me that if they place the order they have to charge me shipping but if I used the website shipping was free. I explained to them that the website is not working for me or them so how can I do that. This is the most ridiculous customer service experience I have ever had. I will order after market parts before I will ever go through this again. I also told them your company is losing orders, money and customers due to a pitiful website that does not work and customer service that is below poor in my opinion. Good luck keeping your business afloat.

Desired outcome: I want the electric pto switch 925-1716A but not bad enough to deal with a misfit company and its employees that are rather flippant about the the issues with the website or how much time I have wasted trying to order one part.

Cub Cadet Cub Cadet CS3310 Chipper Shredder

I bought this unit from Tractor Supply nearly 3 years ago. I used it one time and from the day I bought it, it was hard to pull to start, I mean really hard. My son is a large man and really struggled pulling it to start. I decided it was beyond my use and decided to sell it. A man and his son came to buy it, but the only way it would start was with ether. You cannot pull start by hand. Starts fine and runs fine with ether, but they did not wish to deal with this and I didn't blame them. This just isn't right, as I paid $899 for plus 70 mile trip to Lewisburg, WV to pick it up. I don't own a truck so my cousin took me to get it. It looks like it just came off the sales floor as it has only been used once. Is there anyway I could put electric start on this unit? I'm 74 years old and cannot deal with this unit this way. Is there any help for me at all?

Thank you for your time.

Jim

Desired outcome: Some help with this unit. I've provided photos of the unit and you can see it has hardly been used.

Hi Jim,

You probably should get someone experienced with small engines to look at it. Maybe you have a neighbor who works on his own equipment.

My first guess would be a problem with the recoil starter assembly. Maybe the cord isn't wound right, the springs are jammed somehow, or there's something else blocking free play. If you are comfortable doing some work, or know someone who is, I often times have good luck finding service manuals, or at least parts diagrams, online you can download for free if you get in a bind.

But one fairly easy thing you could try first is to remove the spark plug, then try to pull start it. If the cord pulls easily then the problem would appear to be high compression, or a problem with the compression release mechanism, or if liquid (oil, gas, water) comes out the spark plug hole when you crank then hydrolock could be the problem. If so, after discharging the liquid, replace the spark plug and see if the problem keeps recurring.

There are other things that would probably require more involved disassembly I suspect you may not be comfortable with, but I wouldn't expect those things to be likely on a new machine.

If it's having typical engine problems, having an electric start won't necessarily do anything.

The first thing to check is if the carb is clean. If you've stored it without winterizing it in the late fall, you'll find the carb is possibly gummed up and has problems starting — even in three year old machines.

The other thing is if you're trying to start it in an otherwise cold environment. The piston won't be stuck but will be hard to crank. Using a heart gun to slightly heat the area around the spark plug will help.

Make sure to use a proper amount of oil and preferably ethanol free gas.

Cub Cadet Z force sx60, dealer fraud incorrect model year

I purchased a Cub Cadet Z-force SX60 mower from a dealer on May 5, 2021. The dealer said it was a 2021 Cub Cadet, but in fact it is a 2020, which I found out thru a warranty specialist on April 1, 2022. I called the dealer he was very rude and said the warranty specialist was wrong, that in fact it was a 2021. So, today, April 4, 2022, I talked to Cub Cadet representative who verified that I own a 2020 Cub Cadet after I provided the model number. I paid for a 2021 and therefore that is what I expected to get. I have been cheated and misled by the Cub Cadet Dealer.

Desired outcome: I would like to be compensated for the difference between the value a 2020 and 2021 Cub Cadet Z-force SX60 mower.

Cub Cadet Warranty part and service

A shift selector cable broke on my new 2x by 30 snow blower. When I went to my local Cub Cadet dealer 2236 NY-5, Utica, NY 13502 to purchase a cable under warranty, he told me that I couldn't purchase the cable under warranty. He said that he would have to install the cable and it would be a $60 pick up and return charge. What an insult to my intelligence to think that I would pay $60 to install a $16 warranty part. I purchased an OEM cable and installed it myself in 5 minutes. Why do you even have a warranty? It is businesses like this that try to rip off customers for parts and service that gives Cub Cadet a bad reputation. Last time I'll buy a Cub Cadet.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the cost of cable.

Cub Cadet XT3-GSX (14WD3LE-010) 2015 HOOD

The plastic yellow hood on the above model stated gets very hot due to the location of the Kohler Command Exhaust System location. This is evident due to the installed heat dissipation aluminum covers provided on the outside of the exhaust muffler. The plastic deuterates or breaks down over time by getting brittle and starts cracking as shown in the pictures provided. Due to this heat the Cub Dealer even had to replace one of the throttle cables controls going to the carburetor.

Desired outcome: Replacement of Hood & Future Corrective Action Taken by Cub Cadet to prevent Kohler Command Exhaust System location overheating up the plastic hood causing it to crack and break down.

Cub Cadet Cub Cadet 2X Max 30" Snow Blower

I bought the Snow blower December 2020. I used it 3X the wheels fell of 2/21. It was repaired by Home Depot. I used it 3 more times. Wheels fell off again 2/22. It has been in the shop since 2/2/22. 38 days as of this writing. Still no parts.

I want to know what Cub Cadet is going to do for me ? This machine obviously has a flaw in the design. I get no satisfaction from Home Depot . Obviously doing the same repair over again is not going to sole the problem. Do say I am dissatisfied would be an understatement. I feel some sort of reimbursement is warranted for what I have had to pay to have my snow plowed and having a defective product.

Desired outcome: A refund or new machine.

Cub Cadet 2021 Cub cadet M 550

We purchased a brand new 550 Challenger. Had it 1 day and it is leaking antifreeze. The dealer did come and get it and called us and said there is no leak. My husband told them to bring it back. We bought It in January 2022 from Slaights in Canton IL. The guy that sold it acts like it is no big deal. Also when we are driving it the drivers side door and the tail gait keep popping open. The only thing Slaights says is “ That is what a warranty is for.” I then called Cub Cadet and talked to a gentleman and I use the term loosely named Steve and his response was “ I guess I don’t know what you are asking. Take it to a dealer you have a warranty. Yes we have a warranty but who wants to have a 13,000$ brand new machine in a shop already without so much as a “ I’m sorry this is happening. What can I do to help you.” If we could get our money back it would go back. We have purchased 2 cub cadet mowers in the past. Well they just lost our business. Worst customer service from both places.

Desired outcome: A simple “ I’m sorry what can I do to help would have been nice. Instead I got a “ What do you want me to do.” The guy Steve acted almost annoyed and surprised that I was upset with the problems and then with his response.

Cub Cadet Pressure Washer

On June 4th, 2019, I purchased a CC Pressure Washer, Model# 26A-AHM1710, CC 3224 from McCoy Equipment, located in Franklin, PA 16323. Approximately 9 months ago I had a problem and took it in for service to that location.

In the meantime, they sold the business to Ritenour Equipment, located in Butler, PA.

I was told the pressure pump was bad and needed to be ordered. In the past 9 months I was told that, at first it was on order, then couldn't be ordered.

Since then, Ritenour Equipment sold that business and I picked up my non-working pressure washer. I contacted Lamb & Webster, a Cub Cadet Authorized dealer about getting my pressure washer fixed. I was informed that the pressure pump cannot be ordered and they said to directly you because "I would get better customer service then they could get with contacting the company".

This is unbelievable that a company as large as Cub Cadet handles customer service, especially with their authorized dealers.

Desired outcome: Want my pressure washer fixed or replaced.

Cub Cadet Operational defects

I have approx 66 hours on my xt2 fuel injected mower...46 inch. There is a problem with temp.. Intermittent loss of power, bogging down and stuttering when engaging mower, and loss of power when mowing up hill... I have cleaned the air cleaner, and evidently this has no fuel filter... It also steers hard. I have greased the steering zerks and the steering apparatus, which improves it somewhat for a short time... I maintain it each few hours, and it is stored inside.. If it had a carb. And would think it would need to be adjusted, however it is fuel injected.. The gas is fresh.

Cub Cadet Ztx5-60 ultima new zero turn mower

To whom concerned:

we purchased a new zero turn cub cadet ztx5-60 ultima from athens lawn & garden located in athens, tn on 09/11/2021. When we got it home, we saw it had 21 hours on the running meter and reviewed the paperwork to see it was listed as a "demo". I have mowed my 3.3 acres 3 times and on the 4th, the entire blade activation clutch, another pulley, a tension spring and a large bolt fell off and left me stranded in the middle of our property. I had to get my four wheeler to tow it back to my garage. I collected all the parts that fell off behind the mower and put them into a bag after waiting for them to cool off to handle. I immediately called the dealer and they made arrangements to pick it up on saturday morning at 9:00 am. We recieved a call from the service driver at 9:30 saying that he was not told of our pickup and said he could be at our home at 10:00 am. He arrived at 10:45 am and i assisted the driver to get it up on the flat bed and off it went to their repair shop. We had not recieved a call in over a week and i decided to call them at 4:00 today, 10/11/21. I spoke to a dealer representative and after being placed on hold for approx. 4 minutes, he proceeded to tell me that it was not repaired yet and when i asked for a time frame to get it back, he replied that they did not know.

I have lost total confidence in this mower and would like cub cadet to replace it with a new one of the same model. There is no way that the entire drive line should had dropped off after using it for 8 hours and feel it is a "lemon". I am going to be making the very first payment today on a mower that i cannot use. We had to use our 22" self propelled push mower to mow our around the house grass yesterday and that took almost 4 hours. Furthermore, we never received an owners manual or warranty registration card to register our purchase with cub cadet. We are really thinking that this was not a demo at all, but a used mower that was returned for defects and then sold to us as a "demo". There were a few scratches on this unit that we found when we unloaded it off our trailer at home including a long down-to-the-metal scratch on the overhead roll bar. The dealer had given us a can of matching spray paint before we left his business to paint some scratches he had viewed and not disclosed. We are extremely unsatisfied with this product at this time and do not look forward to mowing our property again on saturday using a push mower after we invested $7, 790.93 to assist making our lawn maintenance a pleasure instead of a task/chore. Please advise on our options.

Respectfully,

Cub Cadet Mower sc500z

Purchased this expensive mover only have the front wheel assembly fall off in 3 months of intermittant use. The manufacturing defect is obvious and well documented in on-line complaints written by other consumers. The defect is not repairable and on line consumers reported such things as paying high fees to have the assembly welded onto the body of the mower... Really?! This suggests to ne that club cadet has not stood behind this product. Is this the case? Would like to know so I am sure to never purchase another product from you and to recommend to everyone I know (as well as others I do not on line) not to do business with you... I also noticed that your former employees give an extremely low rating for your company... Its never to late to start turning things around... Do the right thing! > I could go through the trouble of attaching photos but I am very confident that your staff know exactly what the problem is...

Desired outcome: Replacement with similar mover that does not have the front end assembly... as the pinpoint turn advertised did not function anyway.

Cub Cadet Cub cadet xt2

We bought a new XT2 from tractor supply in 2019. Used it for one season and then the trouble began.
1st the front tire began to lose air, next the starter solenoid quit working after buying a new battery! Now the rear tire loses air and the motor won't stay running, after using ethanol free gas it's entire life!
I never thought these mowers were such junk, then I realized that MTD bought the name and used their [censored]ty quality standards, thus ending the reputation of a trusted company!
Never again will I buy or recommend a cub cadet product!

Desired outcome: Take my [censored]ty mower and give me a refund!

Cub Cadet Cub cadet bagger for ltx 1045

This bagger has been worthless since we first bought it... Continuously plugs up regardless how dry the grass is. The accordion type top seems to be the problem... Sad, because I had a Craftsman lawnmower for 25 years and didn't have a third the problems I've had with this thing. Have Craftsman away to a friend and he's still using it... Whoever developed this for you never mowed with it! Junk! Will try find aftermarket that will work, or never get Cub Cadet again!

Desired outcome: Better bagger

Cub Cadet Defective part

I purchased an XT1 42 and after 50 hrs. It threw the blade belt. The plastic blade brake on one of the pulleys was completely worn out causing 2 pulleys to rub against each other. This is a great example of poor design and manufacturing engineering. This is an issue you might expect to see at 500 hrs. Not 50. Very disappointed with my purchase and I will repair and sell this mower and purchase a John Deere, my last one lasted 18 years and needed 1 belt and 2 batteries. That is a quality product !
