Windstream / misleading phone service offer

I received a flyer in the mail offering unlimited phone service for $44.99 - never pay a cent more. Now I'm not ignorant of the fact that taxes and such would be in addition to that fee but when I called to check it out, I was assured multiple times by the customer service rep that this would drastically decrease my phone bill (I was previously paying around $67/month for service). I got my first bill today with the new service and IT'S $10 MORE!!! I mean, really? How is paying $77 less than $67?!?!?!?!?!?! I called Windstream and was told that unfortunately the plan I had previously was a "grandfathered" plan and that to switch now would end up costing me more in the long run. Give me a break!! I live in a very rural area, and we don't have a lot of options...I don't even have decent cell phone reception so cutting the phone off isn't even an option. I really feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and I'm pretty ticked off about.
