Serial vets: no one seems to stay long enough to see the same animal two years in a row. Office visits are seen as marketing opportunities to hard-sell the pet owner on expensive and unnecessary dental treatments, blood tests, and care products. A rabies vaccine and "yearly exam" that amounts to weighing and temperature-taking cost $86. Never again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Too expensive, up charging everything just for personal profit. Absolutely horrible service with selfish doctors. This hospital should be out of business, absolutely no one can afford it. Some of the staff is rude and inexperienced. There used to be great staff at this hospital, they have all moved on, and for good reason. There are many other veterinarians in this region that have much more to offer and will not try to over charge for their own personal profit. Other veterinarians in the are are involved in animal medicine for the love of animals, not their love of money, just ask around.
I'm done with VCA. Never seen the same vet two years in a row when taking my dog for physical required for pet insurance and invariably get the upsell that makes me feel like a bad person because I am not made of money. Took him in for a bortadella shot - at twice what the mobile vet charges - and came out with $1500 - kid you not - in "recommended procedures" including tooth cleaning under anesthesia and complete panel of "baseline" blood tests. And, of course, neutering - at $450 for a male dog! This for a perfectly healthy, four-year-old competition athlete never sick a day in his life. Done done done. Have since found an independent vet 24 years in business in a more low income neighborhood. He deals with real people with normal incomes and is happy to recommend home remedies and procedures. Whew - I needed a blood pressure check on myself after a visit to VCA.
We have been taking our family to VCA PARKWOOD .Price up sell is the order of the day. i requested a quote for an 8 month old kitten i had saved from the bushes, and went into sticker shock. You can get this done for the sum of $291.00 plus change . Of course there has to be a blood test .And a micro chip. These are not things I want or requested.
And of course you are put on ignore when you call.I have been there when they put people on so called hold, while they scratch around trying to look like they are busy.
Who owns this monopoly? I know this cost $128.00 at any good quality vet.And they always srew up the medical records, wrong dates, wrong pets.

You both are not realize how people make a business, if they didnt charge people they wouldnt have money to treat your animals! THINK!
Let me ask you something, would you rather go to a crappy hospital and have your dog catch something just because it is cheap? Why would they let you in the hospital with out an exam or a parvo test? If you dog has a disease why would they want to expose other animals. It's not that they dont care its because it is the way the company is not the doctors or staff so dont blame them its not there fault, if you have such a problem...then do something about it! And why would they treat your animal if you could just walk out and not pay the bill? In order to see your pet anywhere or see a human any where you need to pay first, THAT IS EVERYWHERE SO REALIZE WHAT YOUR SAYING! YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT THINKING.
I cannot believe the absolute compassionless response to my sister's dying dog over the weekend. We think he had twisted intestines, and they wouldn't even SEE him until she had filled out the care credit app, and said she needed a parvo test, and x-rays.
The only thing they cared about was the money, not the suffering of the animal, the hysterical state my sisiter was in...just kept asking her about filling out care credit application. ###. I had $150 and asked if they would wave the $45 'see fee' and they refused, then charged me an extra $5 on top of everything at the last minute for a 'Biohazard fee!' WTF?
I hope the owners of VCA have karma come back to them.
Were all but maybe one of the "doctors" young and inexperienced -- and the more "seasoned" one magically appearing to up-sell you everything by any chance?
Hope more suckered pet owners become aware that these McVets are only in business to keep you coming back again and again -- and as often as possible.
And, while you're at it: Read the INGREDIENTS in those phony "Prescription" food scams. Ever wonder why carnivores would have reason to eat corn, peanut hulls and SAWDUST?! No WONDER they keep your poor animals coming back again and again!
