Tata Motors / poor customer service

My car (tata indica) broke down in ghatkopar (mumbai, maharashtra, india). I repeatedly contacted the customer service helpline for tata motors ([protected]) however, the customer service representative was more interested in up selling rather than helping me out of the situation. the name of the reps I spoke to were abdul rehman and vishal. I repeatedly told them that I dont want any policy and need a mechanic, hoever they did not pay any head to the same. when asked for a supervisor, I was told that they would not transfer and I have no other option but to speak to them only. also if I do not buy the one year free service policy worth rs-500.00 I will not get any service from them. what are tata motors upto is what I would like to understand. both were rude, arrogant and completely incoperative. I believe the helpline made by tata is not to help the customer but to harrase them. I had to contact a local mechanic leaving my car in the middle of the road and get it fixed by paying extra. no wonder this is the reason why people opt for other car manufacturers above tata. poor customer service, rather worst customer service I can say. the whole fault was only a small electrical glith and I had to shell out rs-1000.00 for that.

    I purchased a linea on 25th june 2009 and at 45000km the engine just stopped. i am a good lover of my car and it still looks new. For the past one month it is at the service centre and no one is bothered to give me any status . whom do i complain now? Very bad service from TATA
