Stay Away from Kabbage: A Nightmare for Small Business Owners
I gotta say, Kabbage is a real piece of work. I mean, when things are going well and you're making your payments on time, they're fine. But the second you hit a rough patch, they turn into a nightmare. And let me tell you, I've lost a lot of sleep over the crap they've put me through.
Here's the deal: if you can't make a full payment for any reason, they're not willing to work with you. Sure, you can call them up and try to negotiate a partial payment and an extension for the rest, but they won't hold up their end of the bargain. Before you know it, they're pulling funds from your bank account and payment providers like PayPal, even if it means you're going to be overdrawn. And they're tracking your sales every hour, so if you can't pay your bills because of them, tough luck.
I had to remove them from my PayPal account and switch banks just to get away from them. A real bank will work with you and just add interest to your loan, but Kabbage won't. They'll bleed you dry and not give a damn about the consequences. And let me tell you, I'm an honest person who fully intends to pay them back. But my sales have to pick up again, and in the meantime, I still need to keep a roof over my head. Kabbage doesn't care if you lose everything over a few thousand dollars. They'd take your van if they could.
So yeah, I'm a victim of Kabbage, just like a lot of other people out there. And I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Stay away if you can.
Kabbage Review: A Nightmare Experience with Pay Late Option and Payment Method Issues
Kabbage was a real headache for us! We were hoping to use their Pay Late option to get a loan for buying materials from Alibaba. We usually buy a lot of products from overseas for our business, so we thought this would be a good option. We asked Kabbage if we could pay off the loan using our American Express Corporate card. We were told by a few different people that this was totally fine, and that there wouldn't be any extra fees. We just had to pay the first month's interest. We double-checked this with Detric and Matthew, just to be sure.
But then things started to go wrong. It was really difficult to link our bank accounts to their system. We had to send it to tech support because it wasn't working properly. And they wanted us to link our corporate bank accounts directly to their system, which was pretty scary. We were hesitant, but we decided to give it a try. But then we found out that their system didn't like our checking account because it was a money market checking account. They wanted a regular business checking account instead. We had to move some money around to make it work. It was a total mess!
Finally, after 2-3 days, we got everything set up. We started to make our purchase, but we decided to call Kabbage one last time to make sure everything was okay. And that's when we found out that they wouldn't accept our AmEx or any credit card to pay off the loan! This was the whole point of using Kabbage in the first place, and we had been completely honest about our intentions. We were so frustrated and disappointed. We closed our account, unlinked our bank accounts, and changed all our passwords.
Overall, we would not recommend Kabbage to anyone. It was a total nightmare and a huge waste of time. Beware!
Negligent and Unresponsive: My Frustrating Experience with Kabbage's PPP Loan Application Process
I applied for a PPP loan through Lendio, but they referred me to Kabbage to continue the process. I had a hard time completing my application because the website kept crashing and giving me error messages. I talked to a representative, and they had to reset my application completely. I applied again, but the website crashed again. I waited a few days and tried again, and finally, it went through.
After that, Kabbage kept sending me automated emails asking me to upload additional documents that they didn't initially request. They kept asking for a schedule C, which my business doesn't have. I emailed them, but I didn't get any response. I called them, but I had to wait for a long time, and when I finally talked to someone, they told me that they would have to change my business structure on my application on their end. They also told me to upload one more additional document, which I did that day.
About a week later, I received an automated response from Kabbage that they had closed PPP applications, and mine didn't go through. I called them to ask why, and they said that I never uploaded my schedule C. I told them that my business doesn't have one, and they're asking for the wrong document. I had uploaded the correct ones and was waiting for them to change my business to a corporation structure so it could be processed. But it was too late. I lost thousands of dollars of forgivable loans that I could have used for payroll.
The whole application process took over a month, and Kabbage was very hard to reach. They were utterly negligent, and I regret applying through them. If I had known this from the beginning, I would have applied through another lender.

Kabbage Review: Unhelpful and Unsympathetic Lender Causes Payment Nightmare
So, I had a bit of a run-in with Kabbage recently and let me tell you, it was not a pleasant experience. I was in a bit of a tight spot and couldn't make my current payment, but when I reached out to Kabbage for some help, they basically just shut me down. It was like talking to a brick wall, I tell you what.
Anyway, I did what I could to try and prevent any further payments from going through, but somehow they managed to sneak in a couple of ACH payments totaling $681. And wouldn't you know it, there was nothing in my bank account to cover it, just like I had told them. I called my bank to see what was going on and they said it could take up to 72 business hours for an ACH to appear. What a load of baloney, if you ask me.
So, I took matters into my own hands and put a stop payment on anything that came from Kabbage and removed my overdraft protection, just in case they tried to pull a fast one. I mean, seriously, why should I have to go through all of this just because they can't be bothered to work with me?
It's like they think they can just come in and take whatever they want, regardless of the situation. But that's not how it works, folks. If you loan money to a small business and things don't go as planned, that's on you. You can't just come in and take whatever you want, especially when it's going to cause a negative balance nightmare and incur fees upon fees.
I asked for a little bit of leeway and they couldn't even give me that. So, I've cut ties with Kabbage and they'll never see another dime from me. Thanks for the donation to my business, I guess. But I'll be damned if I let them walk all over me like that.
Kabbage PPP Loan Review: A Frustrating Experience with Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, Kabbage was a real letdown for me when it came to my PPP loan. I was referred to them by a friend, but boy was that a mistake! They messed up my loan amount, saying they'd only pay me $4294 when I should have gotten $6616.25 based on my Schedule C. I tried to get in touch with them to fix it, but it was like talking to a brick wall! I called and emailed for months, but nobody ever answered. It was so frustrating!
By the time the first round of PPP was ending, I was stuck with a tough choice. Either sign for the wrong amount and get something, or don't sign and get nothing. I decided to sign, hoping I could fix it later. But when Kabbage finally did respond to my emails, it was over 8 months later! And they just said sorry, but because I signed the loan, they couldn't do anything for me. What a joke!
I mean, what was I supposed to do? If I didn't sign, I'd have nothing. And if I did sign, they'd just tell me tough luck later on? It's like they don't care about small business owners like me who actually need the money. They're just there to get their payout from the government and move on.
I really don't recommend Kabbage to anyone. They cost me $2300 and didn't care at all. They've automated everything so much that you can't even get a real person on the phone or by email. It's like they don't want to deal with actual people! If you need a loan or PPP, go somewhere else. Trust me, it's not worth the headache.
Kabbage Review: Fast and Easy Lending, But Poor Customer Service and Unfulfilled Incentives
Kabbage is a lending company that I have used for the past 9 months. I must say that it is a simple and easy-to-use system that lends at a modest rate and delivers cash into your account fast. However, my experience with Kabbage has not been all sunshine and rainbows.
I was referred to Kabbage by a customer and close friend of mine, and I was enticed by the referral program incentive of a $200 visa gift card and a $50 visa gift card respectively. I went ahead and filled out all the necessary paperwork and enrolled my friend (email and all necessary information). After making my first few payments, I realized that my friend still had not received their gift card.
I contacted Kabbage and their management team via email and phone. My contact person, Mark Jones, seemed to do what he could, but after going through the waiting game, they manifested an excuse "that it will be put through on the next payment batch. Sometimes it happens until your first payment has been processed." We waited for another 2-3 months before I contacted Kabbage again about the gift card situation, and again they manifested a lackluster reply, not ever apologizing for such - just pushing it off on another department's fault.
My account manager Mark supposedly pushed it through to his supervisors and sent a couple of other $50 Visa Cards for my troubles and another for a separate Loan I pulled. To this day, I have not received a SINGLE dollar of incentived money. This being the holiday season, now would have been the perfect time to pull out my gift cards and give my kids a slightly better Christmas than they would have otherwise.
As an honest hardworking DAD, I demand more out of these Corporations that suck the bloodlife out of its own customers. It is disgusting to see how they treat their customers. I hope that Kabbage takes note of this review and improves their customer service.
Kabbage Review: High Fees, Lack of Information, and Confusing Minimum Payments
I signed up for Kabbage back in the spring of 2013 and used it a couple of times to take out small loans. It was a smooth process, so when I had the opportunity to purchase a lot of excellent inventory in November and December of the same year, I turned to Kabbage to make it happen. I was approved for up to $8500, but I wasn't sure how much I would need to purchase the inventory. So, I took out a small loan under $1000. However, the opportunities kept expanding, and I ended up taking multiple loans out, totaling $4500.
Before taking out the loans, I checked how much the minimum monthly payment would be for a $4500 loan, and it was just over $1000. I thought I could manage it if I was careful with my spending over the next few months. But when my January statement was updated, I was shocked to see that my minimum monthly payment was almost $1600! Apparently, if you take multiple loans totaling $4500, the minimum payment is much higher than if you take out one $4500 loan. Does that make any sense to anyone?
One significant issue with Kabbage is the lack of information. You receive a statement with your minimum monthly payment around the 5th-7th of the month, and then you have less than three weeks to pay it. You can't see which loans are paid off, which fees are for which loans, how much your minimum payment will be next month, etc. Who ever heard of such a thing?
Then, I found PayPal Working Capital, and now I feel like a [censored] for using Kabbage at all. My fees for taking out a $1000 loan from Kabbage are a little over $180. But I can take out a $1000 loan from PayPal Working Capital for only $31. Yes, you read that right.
As soon as my Kabbage loans are paid off, I will no longer be using Kabbage. The fees are too high, they don't give you any detailed information about anything on your account, and the minimum monthly payments make little sense. And since there is no breakdown of the minimum payment, you can't even see why it is what it is. They just give you a number, and you have to pay it.
So, Kabbage can be helpful if you take out one loan and repay it before taking another. If you need $4500, take it all at once and not in 5 or 6 smaller loans. Otherwise, you will be in for a major shock!
Kabbage: High Fees and Misplaced Funds - A Warning for Small Businesses
Kabbage is a company that you should be wary of. They charge extremely high fees on your loans and have misplaced over four thousand dollars from my small business.
As a small business, we were new to Kabbage and thought they would be a good fit since we paid each loan back before the initial charge date or on the auto payment date to avoid incurring any additional charges. This was going well until my most recent payment, which was made via PayPal (which is how most, if not all, of my payments were made). The payment went through successfully and was taken out of my PayPal account. However, about two weeks later, I checked my company's Kabbage account and found that Kabbage was stating that I still owed the same payment that I had made two weeks earlier - $4031. I was in disbelief and immediately called them. To my surprise, they stated that the payment was reversed back to PayPal (with no notification to me, not even an email). I checked PayPal, but there was no refund there. I asked Kabbage where my four thousand dollars was, but I got the runaround. First, they said they would ask a supervisor, then they said they would ask the accounting team, and then they told me to call PayPal and ask them. I called PayPal, and they confirmed that no refund was given (Kabbage didn't even reverse the payment with the same transaction code). I called Kabbage back to let them know of the issue, but once again, I got the runaround. The supervisor tried to tell me that Kabbage doesn't accept PayPal payments, but I had proof that I had made five separate PayPal payments that month alone that were accepted. His response was that those five separate PayPal payments were just glitches. This is very concerning, and I feel as though Kabbage is trying to force a small business to do something that not even banks do. I will never trust Kabbage again.
Beware of Kabbage. I'm still waiting for them to find my four thousand dollars. Until then, I'm not paying them a single dollar more.
False Advertising and Data Gathering: My Experience with Kabbage
So, I was thinking about expanding my company in the fall and thought it would be a good idea to set up some additional funding in case I needed it. I had been bombarded with both internet and regular mail advertisements from Kabbage and figured that I would give them a try. I filled out the application and waited for a reply. The automated system said that I needed to connect more services in order for them to get a better picture of my company's revenue statements. Being a company that never purchases anything on credit, I only have one revenue stream and it goes through my business checking account. I called and spoke with someone and was told to give it a few days for the underwriters to look at my application and call back for an update. I called back a couple of days later and spoke with someone else and he told me that I didn't qualify and that my application would never be seen by an underwriter because I didn't meet their standards.
According to the application, I had to have a 500+ credit score (which I do), been in business over a year (which I have... almost 4 years), and have a minimum monthly revenue stream of $4,200 (which I have triple that amount), but apparently there are hundreds of qualification points that they look at in order to determine your approval that they don't tell you about. Unfortunately, they rely on a computer program to look at all these factors and never let a human see anything until an approval happens. As far as those "hundreds of points of qualification", why didn't they ask them in their application or include them in their advertisements? Seems like false advertising and data gathering to me.
I didn't have to have the funding, so in a way I should be thankful. I think the main reason I am angry is that they wasted my time and weren't completely honest about their approval process from the start. In a world where your company reputation can make you or break you, why take the chance with speculative business practices? Be upfront and honest, state your requirements clearly, and have more human involvement in your decision-making process. I have asked that my file be closed and my information not be shared with anyone. Someone assured me that it was closed and safe... it had better be!
Kabbage Review: Predatory Lending Practices and High Fees - Beware!
My experience with Kabbage was not a good one. At first, everything seemed fine, but as time went on, I started to notice that the fees were getting higher and higher. Even when I paid on time, my fees kept going up. Eventually, I found out that my loan rate was over 33 percent, which was outrageous. Over the course of four years, I borrowed upwards of 60 thousand dollars, and while I always paid on time, I didn't like the huge payments that were due every 30 days.
Most of my sales came from my eBay store, but when eBay changed to the cassini search system, my sales dropped by 49 percent. I requested a three-day extension, but was told that it would cost me a 100 dollar fee. I struggled to make payments, but then I was diagnosed with a terminal illness and put on disability. I explained this to Kabbage and told them that I would no longer be operating my store, but would continue to make payments. I removed permissions from my accounts so they couldn't make a sweep of all the funds due.
Despite this, Kabbage kept calling me and making threats until I finally told them to make arrangements with me and lower my payment until it was paid off. I also told them that I was judgement proof due to my disability, so they needed to work with me or I would default and file for bankruptcy. Removing permissions was the only way to prevent them from ruining me. They eventually agreed to a payment plan, but only after many threatening emails and calls.
I paid the last few thousand dollars in payments of 366 dollars, and then an unexpected payment arrived, so I paid it off in three months instead of twelve as they had finally set up. They only helped me after I removed all permissions, closed my bank account, and sent a letter of judgement proof documents from my attorney. Kabbage will come after your personal assets, not just your business assets, and they refuse to help you and get downright nasty. They even tried to make a sweep on my personal bank account, which was refused, and on my PayPal account, which I had removed permission from.
I would caution anyone thinking about taking out a loan with Kabbage to think twice. They bombard you with emails, literature, and constantly ask you to borrow. Yes, they offer fast approval and fast transfer of funds, but if you want to hook a fish, that's what you do. I wish I had never opened the first email from them. I believe that the state attorneys should take this company to task and make them explain why they think their business practices are not predatory lending.
customer facing support / applying for business line of credit
I have applied for a business line of credit with Kabbage over 2 months ago. They have manually linked my business bank account, manually verified microdeposits made to my account and manually debit the deposits out of my account yet they show that my application has not been completed or submitted in which I am unable to access funding. I have been told the funding is set up and account with Kabbage has been set up but yet I am unable to link my bank account from my login. I have been given the run around and so many different reasons to why this is happening. No one has tried to give me a straight answer. I have what looks like two different profiles set up with the company and still no answers to why this is happening. Kabbage customer facing support act as if they have no clue to what is going on.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and to why this happened.
PPP Loan
Peak Communications, Inc. (my late brother's business) applied and received a PPP Loan through Kabbage and Cross River Bank during the pandemic. On November 17, 2021 Kabbage sent an email to the Peak accountant's email address stating the $ 34,214 PPP loan had been forgiven.
Peak Communications, Inc. belonged to a trust and was in the process of being sold when the loan forgiveness notification was sent. The PPP funds remain in Escrow until I can provide a "UCC release" and "a copy of the forgiveness letter that the lender received from the SBA."
I have been attempting to get the UCC release and loan forgiveness letter since December, 2021. Here are the numbers/entities I have contacted so far and emailed thus far. I have also had a number of "tickets" created by Kabbage that go nowhere. Here are SOME of the phone numbers I've contacted, in addition to emails.

my business is out of money
It was their mistake. Ok, it happens. People ake mistakes. But when they don't want to improve anything is bad.
I run the business and work with them on a regular basis. Had no complaints against them until they charged an enormously big amount of money twice. This money was not supposed to be paid for anything at all, it's for the business. So their representatives apologized and said they will return the money very soon, within a week. It's been three weeks now and there's no money.
I need it, I have no other account and no more money. Each time I call them they say the same, that I have to wait for a little more.
Can't impress how tired I am from their daily promises. I believe they will do what they promised, but the problem is that it takes too long and my business is out of money now...
I want a refund as soon as possible
I'm not that mean to recommend anyone to deal with them. They are nothing but a headache and you will probably regret.
For some reason, I was charged three times, the payments were big and I don't know how to get my money back, it was charged by mistake, obviously. I can't run my small company because I'm out my money. Please, it's been 2 weeks. The customer service is absolutely useless, obnoxious and inattentive.
If you have a small business, you better stay away. Don't risk your money and your reputation.
Not interested
I guess Kabbage is not interested in new clients, they simply did not care about us. We contacted them about our business and said we wanted to cooperate with them and the beginning they seemed quite interested in our offer. But when we tried to contact them and discuss the details they said later and that they were too busy. Very bad way to do business. After all the reviews I saw I think we were lucky they did not show any interest in working with us. Stay away!
They threatened me and asked to pay more for the deposit
They are sharks. I communicated with the rep from www.kabbage.com. The rep told me that I could get the money and it was fine with my papers. I felt so relieved and waited for money, but the company suddenly contacted me and told that they needed larger deposit from me. I told that I have no money. But they advised me to find the necessary sum or I wouldn’t get the money. They threatened me and it so terrible.
Strange rep, who asked for money all the time
We took the small loan from the company www.kabbage.com. Everything was ok and we signed the agreement with them. Unfortunately, these jerks started to ask for money back too early. The rep started to call us and asked for money. We told him that we would return the loan, but on the estimated day, which was indicated in the agreement. The rep agreed, but on...

I applied for the loan on the website www.kabbage.com. I received it and paid on time, but recently I had the problems with money. So I contacted the rep and asked to stop automatic payments for one week. They refused and I told that I had enough money on account. They were stubborn and refused to meet my needs. Later they changed the payments and I need to pay more now. Total jerks. Never use their services. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Let’s share views about this website.
