Coral Springs Animal Hospital Collection practices

Every conversation with the Coral Springs Animal Hospital front office and billing department has been awful, and NOT because I was ever unwilling to pay what I owe (although now I am leaning in that direction).

I paid $4000 the day my girl was put to sleep, and said I would pay $50 a month until the balance of $1400 was paid. I agreed to start paying on January 31, and yesterday, I went in person and paid the first $50 with CareCredit.

It was such a terrible experience for absolutely no reason but CSAH’s peculiar billing procedure. I have not received a bill, I do not know what services were provided for $5400. It is possible I was given a printout of some sort when I left the hospital the day she died, but I don't know where it is, if that is the case, I have not received anything since then that indicates what was owed, on what date, what services were provided - nothing memorializing the conversation or even sending the documents that needed to be signed. Why wouldn’t that information be put in the mail, so I could sign the agreement and return it?

Meanwhile, I have had numerous phone calls, right from the start. They start out ok but they end nasty. "Sorry for your loss, how will you pay your balance today?" Right from the start, the idea that I had to pay the entire amount of this gigantic bill right away, was spoken about in a way that normalized it. It took me a minute before it hit me – I can’t pay the balance all at once!

The idea that I would pay $4000 with my Discover card and then pay an additional $1400 on CareCredit with only 6 months of interest free credit is absurd, especially considering that the amount of interest-free credit is under the hospital's control! If CSAH allowed 24 or 36 months of interest free credit, it would not be a discussion. I apologize in advance if I am wrong, but I don't see how the amount of time interest free credit is extended wouldn't be under the hospital’s control.

You rude administrative staff feel entitled to make angry phone calls, and I have the evidence on my phone. Why is she angry? Because I altered the plan we had discussed, when I realized what made sense for me. The new plan is that I will make the monthly payments with CareCredit, instead of another credit card. I can set it up every month, and this is what I intended to do, until my eyes were opened.

This new plan should have been met with “thank you very much” and I should only receive a call if I miss a payment. I actually received an angry phone call today because I would not give out a credit card other than CareCredit. That is so absurd, I am repeating it.

I was angry enough before I looked at other people's Yelp reviews, referring to your cold-hearted collection processes and price gouging.

Every phone call was rude, with the exception of the few minutes it took to process my first payment. Even processing my second payment didn't stop their rudeness. The cold treatment I received when I went to pick up my girl's ashes was just wrong.

I went in to get the ashes and make my first payment. I wasn’t expecting a discussion about the payment plan. They will say "We just needed her to sign the agreement" but honestly, they did not. I didn't mind signing the paper; I had a hard time with the insensitive way I was spoken to and the insistence that I had to give them a credit card number, when I had just paid my bill and I was there to pick up ashes.

I did not appreciate being treated like I was making their job hard. They did not need my credit card number once I had just charged $50 on CareCredit and assured them I would continue to pay $50 a month until the debt is paid. How that was not sufficient is unfathomable.

I literally said "If you are going to hold the ashes hostage, I don't need to take them." The young woman said no, she was not doing that, but actually she was.

I was already so disappointed by every interaction with the admin side of this hospital, I have not only lost my desire to make this payment the highest priority every month, I intend to contact the Attorney General, and my Congresswoman.

The very first conversation I had about the balance I owed was nasty. I would have forgotten by now if every ensuing conversation hadn't been so "predatory"... and if they had kindly given me the ashes yesterday instead of turning it into a transaction, I wouldn’t be so upset. There are consequences to these actions. I have wondered since all of this started what do people do who don’t have the credit to pay these enormous bills.

My girl died because I couldn’t afford emergency exploratory surgery in the middle of the night. I did not resent the bill I ended up with until I analyzed how poorly I have been treated and now that I find out others have also been devastated by these enormous bills and the rude calls from CSAH, it has suddenly dawned on me how wrong this is.

Desired outcome: Either write off the balance or give me 36 months to pay it interest-free. And sincerely apologize for the nasty phone calls in a way that indicates nobody else will ever be treated like this again.

Coral Springs Animal Hospital vet visit

Since month one of our beloved Dogs suffers from chronic kidney failure. Our Vet takes exceptional care of our Dogs and we are very thankful for that. But for those Readers which don't know what kidney failure means... it is a noncurable disease what leads earlier or later to death. It is time consumable, expensive daily fight to keep the chemistry in our dog in good standing, so there is no pain and there is still a good quality of life. Traditional and holistic medicine combined, especially Chinese medicine, brought life back in our little Dog Curlie.
Always looking for more information I found the Web site of the Coral Springs Animal Hospital. It stated house visits and a specialist in Chinese medicine. Immediately I made an appointment the same day noon after the Lady on the phone confirmed that a holistic doctor specialized in Chinese medicine will be there and home visits wouldn't be a problem at all. That all was on October 24, 2018. I called my Vet and he faxed all Blood work etc. to them. He was very happy that I finally found a specialist in Chinese medicine and looked forward to working together. I arrived at the Hospital at noon, my Neighbor with me. Because of the long trip, my little dog showed signs of dehydration(loosing orientation etc.). I asked for Water please, nobody cared. We moved to another front desk and the lady behind that desk took my Pet insurance papers. I turned around and my dog was gone. After 5 minutes asking around, I found my dog and my neighbor in a little room with 2 ladies, one a doctor..one a vet tech. The Doctor told me what I actually already knew and counted all the proceeders which she wanted to do with Curlie. She found the faxed Documents from my VCA VET not to "impressive". I asked for the holistic Doctor... she never heard about anybody and gave the advice than to go to another doctor. She also never heard about home visits... on the other site the vet tech did.
ok...she wanted to measure blood pressure in the back and I went out to that Lady at the desk, which told me now that they don't bill my Pet insurance direct.
Immediately I asked for my dog, which still didn't receive any water.
For me, it didn't make any sense. It seemed to be a scam to get new patients in that clinic. And now the best! This clinic has the nerve to send me a bill over $149.51 for an "InternistPE/Consult(R) with Stefeny Pollack, DVM, DA".
I wouldn't repeat on here what my VCA Vet said when I showed him this Bill.
To make it clear, I just wanted to forget that miserable Animal Clinic and I`m definitely not one of those who tries to make trouble...but as it is there with... I will forward this complaint about Coral Springs Animal Hospitals business praxises to any Institution which oversights Veterinarian Hospitals and their veterinarians.
I also will use the social media platform to discuss this openly.
P.S. Thanks to our VCA Vet!, to my friends and all who help to feel our beloved little Curlie so much better! She still goes strong with the daily fluid regime and a lot of holistic medicine and we enjoying every day we have still together

Coral Springs Animal Hospital The cost of xrays. And my dog couldnt breathe and they clearly knew it was an pneumonia but insisted on me payimg for xrays.

I took my 8 year old dachsund to coral springs animal hospital.
My dog could barely breathe and I thought that they wud see her first since she was so weak and unable to breathe correctly. They said tht she was fine and it was no rush. And tht they would be with her In a"few minutes"...
Well.. 1 hour later my Doxie was struggling to breathe worse by the minute. I asked them how much longer because it sounded like an pneumonia. They said tht I needed to bare with them Bcuz they were very busy. So finally another 30 minutes they took her inside. They came back out and said it could be somethingstuck in her lungs and tht they HAD TO TAKE XRAYS which was another 300 bucks. So I said I know it's an pneumonia. You can clearly hear it in her berthing and in her lungs. So they said we wud do xrays. They took another 30 mind to tell me tht she did in fact have a pneumonia.
And so I wasted another 300 on xrays to tell me tht it was what I said it was.
And they said they cud keep her in an oxygen box for like 500 a night. Which did nothing for her. She couldn't even breathe I'm it. So I said we must put her down. She told me the total cost was 800 bucks.

Well, we pit her to sleep and AFTER I PAID THEM WITH MY CREDIT CARD they tell me tht the 800 was ADDED ONTO THE 400 bucks I just spent for sitting in an oxygen box for 45 mind. This place is a rip off. They made my dog wait 2 hours to get any attention. Meanwhile she was declining by the minute.

This place said tht no vets have oxygen boxes so only they did. So I couldn't afford to even try to keep her alive abother day Bcuz that extra day would have been close to $2000 bucks.

They lead you on and they dnt care if your dog can't breathe. So I'm informing you to NEVER EVER GO TO THIS ANIMAL CLINIC.
CORAL SPRINGS ANIMAL HOSPITAL IS A TOTAL FAKE AND THEY JUST WANT UR MONEY.

My dog could barely breathe, and i thought that they would see her first since she was so weak and unable to breathe correctly. They said that she was "fine" and it was no rush and that they would be with her in a"few minutes"...
Well.. 1 hour later my doxie was struggling to breathe worse by the minute. I asked them how much longer because it sounded like an pneumonia. They said that i needed to bare with them because they were very busy!

So after waiting another 30 minutes they finally took my barely-breathing - dachshund omit the back to "check" her status. They came back out, and said it could be something stuck in her lung? And urgently imformimg me that they had to take xrays to make sure that it could possibly be an object in her lungs. And the cost was inky 300 bucks for the frays.

However.. If you clearly hear the fluid in the lungs that is a universal telltale sign that would only mean an pneumonia.

However... They only cared about the money. I mean they literally squeezed every dime out of me knowing that it was a pneumonia. You could hear it in her breathing.

I knew it's an pneumonia! Amd stated that you can clearly hear it in her breathing and especially in her lungs. So they said they had to take xrays.

Which took another 30 minutes... Oust to tell me that she did in fact have a pneumonia. So without anynregard to my bank accoutnt... They added another hundred dollars onto an obvious diagnosis. And knew they could get away with it...

They knew i was very desperate and took advantage of my emotions. I wasted another 300 on xrays to tell me that it was what i said it was — pneumonia!

However there solution was ridiculous. They said they could keep her in an oxygen box for like 500 a night. Which did nothing for her. She couldn't even breathe inside the oxygen box.
So i said we must put her down. The vet scammer told me the total cost was 800 bucks..in total... And that it was with everything included.

Well, we put her to sleep and after i paid them with my credit card they tell me that the 800 was added onto the 400 bucks i just spent for my dachsund sitting in an oxygen box for 45 mins

. This place is a rip off. They made my dog wait 2 hours to get any attention. Meanwhile she was declining by the minute. Having respiratory distress and barely able to breathe.

Finally.. They inform me that regular vet offices do not have oxygen boxes..
And so only they did. So i couldn't afford to even try to keep her alive
Another's day backus that extra day would have been close to $2000 bucks.

With that being said... Coral springs animal hospitalclinic lies to you so you keep spending money. And my dog passed away that night.

. So i'm informing you to never ever go to this animal clinic.
Coral springs animal hospital is a total fake and they just want ur money.

Coral Springs Animal Hospital Keeping my dog in ransom for a $52 dollar bill

I took my dog in for a stomach problem, I was told by the nurse that she is taking him to the back so the doctor can listen to my dog's lungs, it was 6:00 p.m.: 20 min later Ryan Hugh comes in without my dog. (My dog is in a cage) the entire time I was in the hospital: why was my dog in the back? Why did Hugh come out without my dog? Just to ask the same questions as the nurse, I had to go over everything again. Hugh recommendation that my dog stays over night, I said no way, for what I asked? To be on the schedule for tomorrow was his answer. I explained that it happened before and the x-ray came back with no answer, just me paying for something with no answers to the problem! I had to recommend the ultrasound to him, because last time I spend good money on x-ray and nothing was found. He agreed and told me that the ultrasound may not define the problem as well. I agreed to the ultrasound, again he recommended the dog stayed overnight to have the ultrasound for tomorrow, or if I want it today it would be an extra $500 for the specialist to come back to the hospital ( I asked for the price difference). I had to ask if he can schedule it for tomorrow, why would I want my dog in a cage overnight? That will not make him feel any better, he can stay at home, in his bed and in his house. Especially when I could have come back tomorrow as planned. I asked if he could give him a sedation for the dog, to sleep and be calm for the night, Ryan Hugh recommended painkillers. I said ok. Ryan Hugh explained that he was going to the back to write the Physical exam report, and make an appointment for tomorrow, I previously asked the difference in price for having the procedure done today compared to tomorrow, I was well aware of the ultrasound cost of $470 + the exam of $130, I was well aware of the cost and I agreed for tomorrow. 20 minutes later I am still in the room with no dog, I never agreed for my dog to be put in a cage, and I wanted my dog back so I knocked on the door and when Ryan Hugh came to the door, I asked Ryan Hugh to bring my dog back! 20 min later still no dog. 20 min later I knocked on the door again, and asked Ryan Hugh to cancel the appointment for tomorrow and bring me my dog and the bill. Instead of my dog in the room with me, I get a knock form the other door I entered from, the receptionist came with the bill, so I gave her my credit card and walked out of the room and demanded my dog back. It felt like they were keeping my dog in ransom for a $52 dollar bill, when I just previously agreed to schedule an appointment for tomorrow for a $600 dollar bill. This place is a joke. He didn't even give me the painkillers, didn't care for my pet at all just the money for my dog to stay overnight or have it done today for an extra $500. I am home with no painkillers and up from 3:30 am taking my pet back to VCA WHERE THEY CARE FOR MY PET NOT JUST THE MONEY! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN. YOUR A ANIMAL HOSIPTAL THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PETS JUST THE MONEY

Coral Springs Animal Hospital $10,251.00 to mis-diagnose my cat & he died at that clinic

brought my cat to CSAH for 2nd opinion - he was experience gas in his intestines. Brought all previous test results w/ me that were less than 24 hours old. They insisted on performing their own. They disappeared for almost 45 minutes with an estimate-they brought me to front desk to process my credit card. Called me back to clinic 1 hr later to inform me my cat had an obstruction in his intestines- it sounded scripted: "rock-bone-tumor or cancer of the lining of the intestines". They make him lay there for over 5 hrs. before surgery. Found out they reserve $10, 000 on my credit card while he laid there waiting for them to do a surgery he did not need. Reported back to me my cat DID NOT HAVE ANY OBSTRUCTION after they cut his intestines open. They with held the heart meds he needed to stay alive - he died 3 days after surgery. Test results returned from lab in CO that he had IBS/pancreatitis; clearly does not require surgery. CSAH would not release his body to me until bill was paid in full. Charged me $10, 251.00 for the privilege of misdiagnosing & killing my cat.
This is by far the most dishonest-unethical-PREDATORS I have ever met. They are all about your money. Treating & caring for animals was not on their agenda that day they me me & my cat. FIRST DO NO HARM is something they know nothing about!

Coral Springs Animal Hospital $10,251.00 to mis-diagnose my cat that died in CSAH care

went to CSAH for 2nd opinion - cat had gas in his intestines-was told after their tests that he had an obstruction in his intestines: sounded scripted = "a rock-bone-tumor or cancer of the lining of intestines" they were 100% sure! They cut my cats intestines open and found NO OBSTRUCTION - report returns from lab in CO that he had IBS/pancreatitis. CSAH cut his intestines open for IBS - which does not require surgery. They let his lay there for hrs prior to surgery to BLOCK $10, 000 on credit card
The experience there was the most HORRIFIC I have ever experienced. CSAH are true PREDATORS. CSAH actions/inactions cause my cat to die. they withheld all of his heart pills he needed to stay alive. He died in the care of these PREDATORS. Be careful. Bill was $10, 251.00 for the priveledge of killing my cat. There is no compassion at this clinic -they are all about the money!

Coral Springs Animal Hospital Bad service

We went to Coral Springs Animal Hospital to have our dog checked out after he was very lethargic and weak looking. The vet saw him and said he may have a mast in his stomach.

She said I will be right back and came back with two estimates. Truthfully, I have never seen anything like it. Normally, when we go to see our regular vet he tells us the procedure and he goes ahead and does it. Basically, she wanted to take about six X-rays of our dog. The cost of each X-ray was $60 and to add insult to she wanted $70 to interpret the X-rays.

When humans get x-rays they are normally $40/ X-ray or less and the "interpretation" is included with the X-ray. Of Course with humans, a doctor has to wait several months to be paid by insurance and there is much more paperwork involved. So we were astonished that a vet center was charging nearly double the cost of X-rays for humans when there is no insurance involved and they get paid right away!

To make a long story short, the doctor said it was over $700 to have the six X-rays done and "interpreted." I do not know if all the vets. at Coral Springs Animal Hospital are independent contractors or not, but I have never seen a vet. hospital that was less compassionate! We felt as though they were selling us a used car: If you want Car 1 it would cost you this much, but if you want Car 2 it will cost you this much. It was all business! I suppose they are trying to fund the building of their new facility by "gauging" customers.

Nonetheless, we took him back to his usual vet who came and hugged Max and us. It was one-quarter the cost of what Coral Springs was going to charge us, and there were no sales pitches, no coming out with two estimates to choose from, no 75% deposit required before they will touch your dog, and no bureacratic forms to fill out!

Our vet recommended an ultrasound and since no other place was open that had an ultrasound he told us to go to Coral Springs. Reluctantly, we went back there and a specialist was "too busy" to see us so we spoke to a regular vet who setup the ultrasound. True to form, she came out with two estimates and we had to pay 75% of the procedure up-front. In fact, the billing lady was trying to charge us more than what the actual price the vet quoted us was. I suppose she was trying to pull a fast on us. I caught it and had her put the charges back to where they should have been. It cost over $700 to have the ultrasound done there. This was extremely high, and Coral Springs Animal Hospital's dictatorial policies are ridiculous.

This place is all about money! That is they are all about charging you as much as they can get from you! I have never met vets. that were as uncaring and uncompassionate. It seems they are not about helping your pet, but only helping themselves!

For Coral Springs Animal Hospital and all neurologists, be SURE you do not let them do an EMG/Nerve biopsy on your dog. For many breeds there are genetic marker tests which requires a mere cheek swab and costs only $140 and can tell you if your dog is "affected" by polyneuropathy. In my case the neurologists here I was shocked to discover knew about this completely non-invasive option, never disclosed it, assured me that no harm would result from the EMG/Nerve biopsy when I asked, and now I have a dog that was previously in no pain, in great pain that I will have to live through with him for years for absolutely no reason.

When I sent an update and video of my dog's agony (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR4RBP4tf4g&feature=youtu.be&noredirect=1), Dr. Lisa Lipitz merely reprimanded me for having interrupted her Thanksgiving holiday after waiting 5 days before calling to check on the patient whose agony she had alone unnecessarily caused. When I asked Dr. Lisa Lipitz to be sure to give this option to her patients forward so no other dogs would ever suffer this fate, she didn't care, didn't plan to change what she was doing going forward and hung up on me. Reminds one of the Hippocratic Oath which I guess doesn't apply to CSAH: First Do No Harm.

*** Response to the Owner where posted (Google, etc.) -- their Facebook Page is rigged so you can't read anything negative there -- also be sure to see all the filtered Yelp reviews with more horror stories. What is stated by the Owner is simply untrue as their is excuse is that it is excepted practice not to present the non-invasive option to owners of pets. The CSAH Owner remarkably is either uneducated in the field, sadistic or greedy. Under no circumstances should it be anyone other than the OWNER'S decision to do a procedure than may severely injure your pet (without warning of any risk from CSAH) when there are non-invasive options readily available for some breeds (which are also about 1/10 the price). Intentional failure to present non-invasive options is unconsciounable especially when it results in agony to an animal that was in no prior pain as it did with my dog then abandoned by CSAH.

The non-invasive genetic testing for Leonbergers are available through the University of Minnesota, for Greyhound as published by the University of Florida (http://www.plosone.org/a…) and for Malamutes via the University of Copenhagen, Department Of Veterinary, Clinical And Animal Sciences, Section Of Genetics, Groennegaardsvej 3 Dk-1870 Frederiksberg C, Denmark (+[protected], dir +[protected]; minnaj@sund.ku.dk, http://www.sund.ku.dk). All of these discuss and encourage non-invasive procedures primarily and are more than reliable sources.

You get what you pay for? Does that explain the incompetintcy of Dr. Donna Shwartz? My ooor Chelsea suffered at the hands of this witch. My dog was 11 & 1/2 she was full of irritation from allergy. She had previous thyroid problems which Shwartz never even looked into. My baby had been experiencing symtoms of a brain tumor or cds with sundowning. Her legs were giving out, when she went to get up. One of the horrific symtoms was barking all night and lunging at latching on to me and biting me every night for 4 months. Donna, said i needed a behaviorist or i would die. Why would an 11 year old dog who was always gentle and wasn't hurting me during the day. need a behaviorist. She misdiagnosed Chelsea and she stuck to her guns, giving her kangaroo food for her alergies. Chelsea was still an angel during the day. She never even rechecked her thyroid. She destroyed me mentally by insisting, my dog was biting me because i had spoiled her and she didn't respect me. She caused me heartache money and grief beyond repair . Coral springs medical hospital is money crazy. They will let your animal die in front of them without money.

Stay away for this place. They will suck you dry in unnecessary fees. Find a other vet.

It is extremely unfortunate that people don't understand nor take the time to understand how expensive it is to staff and operate a top-notch referral animal hospital. These specialty practices provide specialties outside the expertise of the patients' regular veterinarian. It is common for a general practitioner to run into a diagnostic brick wall. As a pet owner, you should have either 1. pet insurance 2. a savings account for your pet's emergencies. Please don't blame Coral Springs Animal Hospital for any wrong doing. They have every right to collect a substantial deposit for their services. Guess what? If everybody paid like they promise to pay, they and all veterinary practices would waive such substantial deposits. Veterinarians get financially burned all the time because of "promises" made to them by clients. Would you fill up your shopping cart at the grocery store and then tell the store manager that you promise to pay the bill the following month?

I want to know where I can go to get 'human' xrays for 20$ - 40$. Because I just went to the ER and had 2 rads of my wrist done and they gave me a brace (that I had to adjust and put on) and it cost me close to $1000. So to compare human medicine to animal medicine is just crazy. If you cant afford to have a pet and take care of it, dont have one or at least carry insurance. There are many different types of pet insurance that are not too expensive. If you had insurance it wont cost as much, just like when you go to doctor and pay $30 and your insurance is charge $150 for the visit. GET A CLUE
Veterinarians go to school as long as MDs and have to learn how to treat many different species, as opposed to humans. AND they make 1/8th or less of what doctors make. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR PEOPLE

If your having so many problems with Coral Springs Animal Hospital then do not get reffered there. There are other referral hospitals in the area.Just beccause your vet only refers to one hospital doesn't mean you do't have options. Veterinary Specialist of South Florida is about 20 minutes away from Coral Springs, They have board certiified specialist as well. They are wonderful!

I brought my dog to Coral Springs Animal Hospital because my dog was having trouble walking. The doctor on duty took x-rays of my dog and told me that my dog had a herniated disk and surgery was needed. I was told this is a normal surgery and my dog would live and have better than 60% chance of making through surgery with out any complications. I was told this is a common procedure costing $3.000-$3500 inclusive of all charges. I gathered all of the money I had to my name a measly $4000 cash. Upon arrival with the money the price of surgery went up to $4, 000 - $4500 desperate to save my dog I gave the hospital $3, 300 (the 75% they require to start surgery) As I am ready to leave the hospital I am flagged down and told the surgery is now going to be $4500-$5000 and It would require another $400. At this point my girlfriend, my 9 year old son and myself are all hystericaly crying since the dog is a member of our family and we are soooo worried. I again paid them the money they requested andwent home to awaita phone call from the surgeon. At 3:00 am I recieved a phone call letting me know that after running more tests the prognosis is grimm. My dog now has a ruptured disk and has a 30% chance of survival, 10% chance of surviving and 100% chance that he will no longer have bladder function. And to add more guilt and pain to my suffering family we are told that if we had brought the dog sooner his life could have been saved. My options were to put my dog down or pay $5, 000 to have a paralysed dog that would need his bladder emptied 3 times daily. I of course opted to put the dog down so he wouldn't have to live that kind of life. I rushed my family over to say our last goodbye to a dog that was loved more than most humans. After 30 minutes of intense grieving I was handed my final invoice for $2, 400. I am in now in the process of fighting over my bill to have my money returned to me. I now wonder if my dog was dropped between the original diagnosis and the final diagnosis. My family is now completely heart broken and have to live with the guilt that if we just would of acted sooner our dog would still be alive. My poor girlfriend has morbid thoughts of suicide because she now belives that she killed our dog! I am outraged and will do everything in my power to put an end to the theft and incosideration that goes on at this poor excuse for an animal hospital.

People do not understand the high cost of veterinary care. They do not understand that as technology and diagnosis methodology improve, the costs of care increase. They enjoy comparing the cost to human medicine but not the difficulty or quality. The absence of true "insurance" for pets (thank God) is precisely the reason veterinary care costs so much. They are not digging into the pockets of drug companies or insurers. Veterinarians will pay $36 for a bottle of human medication to stock in their practice when the local pharmacy is only charged $10.

The complaint and a commenter were both REFERRED to this vet for a reason. Their vet did not have the equipment or (presumably) expertise to diagnose and treat their pet.

Bottom line is vets don't really have one. They make jack squat compared to MDs and have a harder job than just dolling out pills for whatever ails you. Which is clearly a lack of common sense. I understand South Florida so much better now...

I'm not sure either if the vets at this facility are private contractors or not. However when I offered to pay my 75%estimate of $1, 650 in cash, IF they provided a 3% discount, the business office seemed befudled. I was told "we do not barter"? Barter is defined as:the exchange of goods and services WITHOUT money", I offered to give them 3% MORE than they would have recieved 30-40 days sooner than if paid with credit? "Lots of people pay cash here" she explained, so my less than compassionate response seemed complete. Right now I am up to $1, 960 in fees without the cat even being better, and the additional cost of catherization is now necessary. The cost of care is an important point to make, however in almost 40 years of vet bills never have they been so forward with costs, expressed pre-payment. I was refered by my origional vet whom did not have appropiate surgical facilities if the cath preforated the urethia, so I did just not arrive with an unknown pet that had been hit by a car. I will never come here again under any circumstances!

Your rediculous! If they didn't give you an estimate they would of probably gone over the procedure and then did it becuase you would of probably ok it.Then when it was time to charge out you would of had a 2000 dollar bill. They were warning you by showing you two estimates. Letting you know that it can get expensive and don't compare human doctors to vets because you can tell the doctor whats wrong with you, what feelings you are having.Vets have to figure it out and take from what you have observed. Also x- rays for humans cost a lot and for you to mention 40 dollars is because you have insurance and the insurance pays the rest of the money.X-rays for humans depending on how many and size is 75 to 250 a sheet and doctors don't charge you to go over it because it is included in the ofice visit which is actually 90 dollars but you pay with insurance 20 to 40 depending how good your insurance is. Every clinic requires a deposit because ALOT of people skip out on the check. People have to pay their bills nothing in this world is for free. I don't work for coral springs but i have worked at many animal hospitals and your just mad because you didn't get it the way you wanted it. If your regular vet is so great then you should of found a way to bring your pet to him and a dog or cat becoming lethargic or having a mass usually doesn't happen over nite so shame on you trying to play the bleeding heart when you finally notice somethings wrong with one of the members of your family.
