Chicago Tribune / newspaper delivery

The tribune is outsourced to deliver newspapers for the suntimes as well as their own paper. The delivery person assigned to bring my three papers everyday is lazy and no good and skips my house whenever she feels like it, they say someone must be stealing the paper. I lose sleep every day waking up too early to make sure I get my paper. The only days I don't get it she doesn't bring it, I have come right out after watching the paper tossed only to find that all my papers were not delivered and they refuse to hold their lazy employee responsible. I have had to chase her down and ask about my paper and she says she doesn't have it. This company sucks and they know it, this is why readership is down.

We subscribed for the Chicago Tribune through Subscriber Advantage, which states you will get the paper everyday. And we live in Indiana. They say the paper service will start in one week. it did. Then some days it didn't come. I think our service is bad and we will swtich our subscribtion to a different subscription of the Chicago Tribune.

The Chicago Tribune is pathetic ever since Zell took over. First they changed the Guide to Saturday - so if you were not subscribing on Saturday you had to add it to the subscription. Then they change the format of the Sunday paper - I think it stinks. Then I get the guide and it isn't even printed correctly - days are missing and I am just wasting my money because I throw the rest of the paper away. Go back to the old format and maybe the readers will be happy again.

MY husband had been wanting to order the Trib for some time, we came across an offer they had in the Jewel/Osco--$13. for 13 weeks--3 wks later I get a courtesy call asking if I'm happy with the service---IT NEVER STARTED---I check my bank acct and sure enough the $ had been deducted--they offered to extend the subscription for the extra days {the ones missed} and promised delivery that friday--well 2 weeks ago Friday I got the paper---and so far it's the ONLY ONE I GOT!! I called to cancel, they tried their best to keep my account, but I had to insist on cancelling anyway--I am not going to run out in the rain and snow to get a paper that isn't even there. Selling the Tribune subscriptions was myvery first job, my sister worked for the Trib office for years--of the 3 people we had talked to on the phone 2 of them sounded like they were reading from a script, this is very disheartening, and not a good way to promote subscriber growth and keep customers!!!

This is the second Wed. that we did not get our newspaper. I've had this service for over 6 years and this has not happened before. I don't know why they can't bring the paper here after I called them and complained. The paper is more important that the money to me. I'm retired and have a hard time getting around. To do shopping is a burden as it is. They made the mistake, why can't they bring me a paper?

If you want terrible service subsribe to the Chicago Tribune. Somedays we don't get paper other days it is wet and we can't read it, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE (I beleive worst in state) and they do nothing to solve problem but they do charge your credit card on time monthly. It is no wonder they are in bankruptcy and the courts should dissolve then maybe the customer service people will understand all the complaints.
