call select is overcharging. i found this when one of my friends told me about it. so, becaues i have my cell registered with them i took the invoce from my provider and i confronted the minutes with the minutes registered by them. surprise there, i had up to 5 minutes added per conversation. i called them and i asked for an investigation in their system. they checked, thanked me very much and told me that there was an error, that was solved and that everyting is under control now. guess what? they said the same thing to my friend in march 2009. i have the account with them for over 2 years now so i pulled out the invoices for the last year, same story. how is this possible in canada? i think that all their customers are overcharged. to whom should i complain?

the same! was using that company for 10 years and was satisfied, until now they became comewave . Show one price for min (on Canadian site) and after charging in US $, just adding exchange rate. Why to do that for company located in Toronto?

Fraud, robber, cheater, ...you name it ! ! !
After long wait to get an explanation on charges I had a chance to speak to Cust Rep # 3988 (this is his extension number by the way and not real Customer Representative Number) named Daniel, who did not answered to any of my questions your question but talked about something he was not asked at all. And then he put me on hold to pull up my invoice for particular month so he can look into the details. That was last time I heard from him as I had to hand up after 11 minutes waiting for him to retrieve my invoice for the last month.
Second call: I spoke to Timothy who gave me his Cust Rep # as his phone ext: 3837. I got the same story about the charges: USD to CND conversion they billing department uses is based on Google report on exchange rate! Not based on any bank exchange rate but rather Google site! I asked to talk to the billing department and the answer was “NO!”

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Do not fall in the Call Select trap of low rates. they charge you 30% higher based on the US exchange rate.

They charge you based on the US exchange rate, quite shocking. Get out of Call Select as I did. I have been charged 30% higher for the last one year.

Dont sign up for this service. They make you call another area to cancel your service but conveniently you cant get anyone on the phone and so this process drags on and you keep getting billed. Its been two months and still no resolution. I need to put a stop payement on my credit card now. What a Joke.

I am very disappointed with this company after being with them for many years. I just noticed that the items on my bills do not match the total and added up wrongly. I called the customer service and they say we add up based on USD!
This is a clear fraud by misrepresenting the rates, fooling and cheating. I will stop using their services and submit this case for a complaint.

I totaled the amounts on the last 4 invoices, surprise! Let's say the total of the calls is $6.00, the amount showing on the front page is $7.00. The amount showing on the front page is higher than the total of the calls! How could it be? Isn't there an Excel sheet that calculates the amounts? You can't contact them. The customer service is close indefinitely. There's no mail address. My friend has the same problem! I'll disconnect in the next few days! - April 2015.

I am also an unfortunate customer of select calls, they did a cold calling and I become a victim, although I promised my self that I will never buy or commit to anything on cold calling. This company is joke, false promises and their behaviour over the phone is appalling. They promised to give the cancellation charges which we paid to BT to move over to Select. 5 months on 12 phone calls 20 e-mails still no reimbursement. Just got of the phone to Offcomm and loged a compliant. I have been advised to contact CISAS. I was told by select call representative that if i cancel my direct debit they will charge me cancellation fees yet they are in breach of their contract BT not providing the reimbursement of cancellation fees. My ADVISE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF THEY ARE 95% Cheaper!

System error or not, they kept sending me bills AFTER having cancelled my long distance account. I just got off phone with their CS agent Sofia, she said -- AGAIN -- they will remove the fees on my invoice for my cancelled account !.

Looking forward for a new invoice next month!

Now they have other ways to keep the scam going. They just invented a new Billing Charge. If you do not pay attention you can easily pay it. I did not agree to pay it and 1 week later they took money from my credit card, without authorization. They are not allowed to have my credit card info in the system, but they do! This is breaking the law. What a scam company!

A young guy called me, speaking my language and he said something about every transaction he does he would get 5 dollars, I said ok because i am a very sensitive person and I never use international calling with a phone .I use skype. Then I get this mail of call select implying I called the U.S and charged me 3.66. I called them and kept on saying I had to pay the bill.I kept on asking for them to cancel but still kept on saying to pay the bill.I told them to get a lawyer for 3.66 if they want to but I am not paying for something I didnt use.

Call select might reel you in with low rates but beware as they do scam you in other ways as original poster mentioned. For me they didn't mention any monthly charges and when the bill arrived it had a 3.95/month service fee...very poor behaviour from call select which just shows how low they can stoop to make a quick buck. Shen I attempted to resolve the billing issue I ran into very unhelpful customer service reps. Even after threatening to contact BBB they didn't remove the service charge. To hell with them.
