In september 06 I signed up for a new membership at Ballys. At the time the gym was a small temporary gym and was told that the new main gym would be open in Jan 07 and if we signed now we would get a discounted rate. Months and months went on and the gym never opened but I was under contract. I asked that my membership be frozen until we could access the new gym about june 07. My membership was frozen for a month then unfrozen, frozen again the month after then unfrozen with charges still occuring. All this time their representatives were saying the club would open the following month, month after month. Spoke to a club represenative named Josh, the only person who has access to financial accounts. The clubs 800 refers you to the club and does not have access to notes or financial records and no other employess have access besides the general manager, allen hebert and josh. I was told I would receive credit for the charges of a few months but the charges kept coming in when my account should have been frozen. I spoke to josh and was instructed not to pay the balance that credit was applied but
I was still receiving letters from them threating collections so I paid the balance. Later in the year I received a letter, as well as all early members that I still have stating I would receive 6 free months added to the end of my contract for teh delays and stated that the gym would open in sept 07. The main gym actually opened in Feb 08 and I was still paying the monthly fee. I did not work out or use the temporary gym after feb 07 until the main gym opened in 08. My contract ended in sept 08 and the free time still has not been added or charges credited when the account was supposed to have been frozen. An additional 3 months of free time were also offered at the end of the contract for the frozen time. I have spoken to numerous representatives where the general manager(allen) refuses to return calls or Josh the account manager who has not resolved the credits or free time. It is now Jan 09 and my credit card is still being charged and the free months of membership has not been applied. I have spoken to management again at the gym but nothing has been done. Numerous other members have experienced the same. Bally's has made no efforts to resolve.
