Athleta "40%" discount if I opened an athleta/gap card

I went into the Gilbert, AZ store location to buy some salutation tights. The sales rep mentioned the discount if I'd get the card. She stated several times it's 40% off then commented and said it's double the discount for today since it's 20% and then another 20% on top of it.

I told her, that's false advertising because that's not 40% off. If you take $100 and 40% off, you'd pay $60. That same scenario at 20% with $100 is $80 and then 20% off is $64. Is it close? Absolutely - is it truly 40% off? No! It's 36% off...

She said ... that's the way management has us explain it. I said you might want to tell management that it's false advertising. She then cut me off and asked me if I wanted the item or not.

Because I LOVE these tights, of course I bought them. I did NOT open a credit card though. And when I came online to see how to email customer service about it, I found the comments about the lack thereof truly good customer service. And I'm glad I didn't get the card!

Desired outcome: Educate your sales folks and say it's 20% and then another 20% and quit calling it 40% or whatever the discount of the day might be. And teach sales folks how to interact and be nice to consumers.

Athleta Athleta online ordering

Placed an order in their website for a raincoat, paid through PayPal. Never received a confirmation or order number from Athleta. Kept pestering PayPal for details on the order. PayPal informed me that Athleta had processed TWO transactions for the same cost, had sent one to the wrong address! The other had yet to be processed. While PP said they cancelled one order, Athleta could not confirm the shipping until it was too late to change it. So now my raincoat is in a mailbox hundreds of miles away from where anyone will be and I’m out the price of an expensive coat. Worst online transaction I’ve had in 20 years!

Athleta Rewards not honored

I have used my Athleta card daily for the past several years. I put everything on this card - day care expenses, Invisalign, airplane tickets. Still, Athleta will not honor the rewards that I have earned. The customer service is nonexistent. There is no one available to help, just an automated message instructing card holders to "call back after June 20." Terrible customer service. Terrible way to do business. I will never, ever deal with this company nor will I purchase any products from Gap/Banana/Athleta even though I acknowledge this is probably the fault of the card servicing company not the clothing brand.

Desired outcome: I want the company to honor my rewards

Athleta Would like to address the racial profiling experience in your store

Hello, I love Athleta's clothing and have been of shopper of all of your brands. I have shopped in many locations and have left happy. My experience at the Malrton NJ store has been depressing. Both my girlfirend and I see a shift in how they treat their clients. While we shop, the manager whispers to the rest of the staff. We are followed around the store like thieves. While other customers are happily shopping, we on the other hand are being treated like criminals. I do not see any difference between "us" and "them". We wear similar clothing, handbags, shoes, and purchasing power. The major difference is our skin color. My friend still spent $300 despite being asked why she had a rolling a briefcase (getting off work). It is customary to ask how the clothes fits while trying it on, but the salesperson declined to bring back a different size. When I asked her where the different size was, she stated that she thought she had it in her possession. As I stood in the dressing room waiting for my gf, the manager loudly states what the clothes are doing on the floor. I was not far from said clothes. I can only assume that question was aimed at me but not expecting an answer. I wonder if a person with a different skin color would have been treated in the same manner. This is the second time we have been treated unwelcomed at the store. But this is the first time that I am doing something to address the wrongfulness of this. A video recording would be very insightful and would backup our story if need be.

Desired outcome: I have not thought of this.

Athleta Returning items

I placed several orders with Athleta in May and returned both orders June 1st. Today is July 1 and after spending over an hour on the phone with customer service they were only able to confirm they received one of my returns on June 11th but still need to wait another 30 to 45 days for a credit back to my card? They could not confirm the second return or when that credit could be issued. The web site does not even show the items that were returned nor do they indicate when the items were received back to their web site.
Other stores like Zappos, Tommy Bahama & Nordstroms are so much better, all returns were processed quickly.

Athleta salutation stash pocket capri

I have purchased these leggings for yoga practice, i have always used Lululemon but wanted something different. That being said i have purchased amazing bras and tops from your company over the years.
However these leggings started falling apart within the first month of my purchase, i did not keep the receipt, but i do know that if needed i could pull it from the card company since it's a GAP card. I'm not sure if this was just one bad apple out of the whole batch, but paying over $90 for leggings and having them fall apart in a month is not acceptable.

Athleta cancellation

I submitted an on line order using Apple Pay. The payment went through immediately and what I didn't realize the card number was obsolete. I called customer service immediately to give them the correct card. I was told to cancel the order and place a second order using the correct card number. Which I did. Not only was the original order not cancelled they just corrected number. Of course my account was charged for both orders. When I called customer service, I was told if the shipping department didn't get the cancellation, I could return my order by mail or go to the store for my refund. I just want to point out my payment went right through. Why didn't my cancellation go right through? Now I'll be receiving two identical orders which I can assure you I will be returning at the store for my refund. I order on line all the time and your process is the worst. You're no Amazon! I will return both orders and buy elsewhere.

Athleta complaint type: rewards not honored.

Complaint reference: Athleta 7599, Date: 12/10/2018 7:23 PM, Trans: 1885, Store: 07599, Cashier: 3107279.

Purchased a Snow Down Jacket and one other item (pants). I used a $45 reward, a $5 reward and another $5 reward. When the cashier placed the items in the bag she noticed a black spot on the jacket sleeve. She attempted clean with a wipe but could not. And she suggested to return the item and replace with another item of the same. Which I agreed. This same item (jacket) would have to be ordered.

The initial bill was $262.93. The new jacket was rung up and was to be sent to my business; shipping was waivered. See final order information listed below. The return order was rung up and then I was told my rewards would not be applied because they were used in the first transaction. The second transaction was at 7:32 PM and transaction #1886. For your information: a rewards of $10 was applied to the pants. The other $45 dollars of reward was not applied to the new transaction.

She offered me 10% off because it was a "trouble." 10% was applied to the new transaction. Which amounted to $20 off. However, this is less than the $45 rewards I should of received. And I lost all together my $45 dollar reward or you could say I lost $25 dollars. And the $25 reward I can no longer redeem. Because there was a product problem I ended up with a lesser discount.

FYI: The final order number for the jacket is TXR77WS, order date 12/10/2018. And on this order they have the first name spelled wrong "Leanne" should be Joanne.
Can you help with the $25 rewards loss?

Athleta gift purchases

I recently purchased two items to give as gifts-I checked the box for the gift receipt which already was substandard in that you couldn't do them independently and they were gifts for different individuals. The items came with no gift receipts-I called to request the receipts and was told it was too late and that it could only be done at the time of purchase-very poor-Athleta-GAP and so substandard for a business such as yours. Needless to say I will not be purchasing gifts from your company again-or probably anything for that matter!

Athleta deceptive facebook advertising

Athleta posted an ad on Facebook for an "Aqualuxe Stripe Bikini", for a price of $69, and photo that showed a 2-piece bikini. I clicked through to order it on my phone. What I received was just a bikini top. Their ad said "Bikini", not "Bikini Top". I've attached a screen shot of the ad to this complaint as evidence. Look at it and tell me what you think you'd be ordering based on what you see. A bikini, by definition, is a 2-piece swimsuit. If the ad said "Bikini Top" I'd totally understand. But it doesn't! Athleta refuses to ship the other half of my "bikini".

Very happy to report that Athleta has resolved this issue and shipped what I ordered. Even better, they have now added "top" to every biking top label on their website. They have won be back as a customer.

Athleta misleading

I don't know why other people are in love with Athleta. I personally think it's a piece of crap.
I ordered some stuff from them, several days later they said that everything was sent.
Yeah, I was happy and excited to received the items as soon as possible.
But next day they sent me an email stating that the items were sent separately, so it was impossible to predict when exactly they would reach me. One week later I was notified that my order was delivered.
Really? I didn't get anything. So it's a big secret where my order it is now.

Athleta staff

I have always enjoyed shopping at Athleta and appreciated the staffs help. I was not happy about my experience today. The staff was not friendly and didn’t say hi or ask if I needed help. The lady with short blonde hair who was working the dressing room kept giving me mean looks. I had worked out prior to shopping and she made me feel like I couldn’t afford the items in the store. I also felt like I was in her way as I looked through the clearance section. I have been shopping at this location since it opened and the workers today were newer employees. I would suggest more training is needed for customer service. The atmosphere felt cold and I felt like I was in the staffs way.

Athleta Bad customer service

I will never go to any Athleta Inc. store again. I was treated very badly at this store by one of their employees and the manager (s) did not do anything about it. I did not know that you have to reserve a fitting room to try on clothes. This was my first visit at the store. I went to the fitting room area I saw a couple rooms empty and I went in one of them. After a few minutes some customer came in and opened the curtain and said that I was not supposed to be in that fitting room. The employee said the fitting rooms are supposed to be reserved. They started to make comments about me and I never felt so disrespected. I will never make reservations to try on clothes and no one deserves to be treated the way I was treated.

Athleta Bad customer service

I was badly treated at this store by one of the employees and the managers did not do anything about it. I was unaware that Athleta make reservations to use the fitting rooms, according to this employee. It was my first visit at this store. I saw one of the fitting rooms empty and I went in to try on some clothes. To my surprise some other customer came and pulled the curtain and said that she was supposed to be there. The Athleta employee came and said that the fitting rooms are reserved. I did not know that and the employee and this other customer started to harass me. I felt very disrespected and I will never set a foot in one of these stores. This was definitely was first and last visit. I never heard about "reservations" for a fitting room. Their loss, not mine.

Athleta Awful return policy

I have ordered from Athleta on line for awhile, but I recently tried to return and exchange some items that weren't true to size. They don't provide you with a return shipping label or an exchange form. Instead, you call customer service, do a search on their website for keyword "return label", print it out. And since there's no exchange form to include in the return, you have to call the customer service number and re-order and re-pay for the item you wanted to exchange. The company makes it hard to be a loyal customer. Too bad I already spent a couple thousand before I realized how unecessarily inconvenient they make it to return something.

I wish I could have read your comment earlier. Their customer service is terrible at their stores too. You are supposed to reserve a fitting room, according to the rude employee at the store. I never heard of such a thing. It was my first visit and I will never forget the way they disrespected me. I am glad I did not spent a penny at this store and I will never comeback to any of the stores.
