Unethical sales practices
I recently went on a trip to Mexico and was taken in by a Secrets vacation club in which the talk was fast, the smiles unlimited, the promises undocumented and the small incidential's not even mentioned. After returning home and reviewing and researching this club we found many cons and some pros regarding this club. Items mentioned very briefly at the presentation were glanced over, other items in the contracts were not even mentioned. Upon calling UVC about our wanting to cancel this contract due to breach, they keep calling and emailing me for a response...I sent them my original letter stating why I was cancelling (PS not cancellation clause in contract) and they responded back with a counteroffer (extra add on's to what the original purchase was). I had to leave for a business trip and have not been able to respond to their counteroffer as of yet but will shortly. Since I cancelled the credit/debit card I used so they cannot withdraw any funds, and I filed a complaint with my banking institution and received a provisional credit until we get this worked out.
I swear the sales reps took Jordan Belfort's Straight Line of Persuasion course! I will never again attend another one of these type presentations! Old saying buyer beware is one to live by!
Hoping to get this resolved shortly!
I have been sending them correspondence stating that we were taken in by their salesperson misrepresentation of the actual deal. feeding us alcoholic drinks during the presentation and at the breakfast/brunch, that their counter offer trying to persuade us to take the deal with additional perks show that there was no meeting of the minds which is what a contract requires by law. I closed the account out that was given for auto payments and my bank has given us a provisional credit. The case is still active so I do not know what the next step will be... to be continued!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Misleading and lies - I know because I worked there
It's a scam. . . Do not purchase with this club! I went through training there and they teach you how to sell ''air''. The managers teaching us referred to this product as ''air'' and showed us how to sell ''air'' to clients! They sell a discount program. Members of unlimited vacation club receive 25% off hotel rooms, but if you go through expedia or any online travel service, you'll find cheaper rates than they can get you. The cost of this membership to stay at secrets, zoetry, now, dreams or any other am resorts is $50, 000 for a 50 year membership! If you continue to say ''no'' to the price, they will drop the price all the way down to $5, 000 for a 10 year membership! The more you say ''no'' the lower the price gets. It's all about the commissions to be made and their paychecks.
Am resorts / unlimited vacation club is a new company, just a few years old and it's the worst company i have ever worked for. I have been in the vacation industry for many, many years and i do own a vacation club membership, as well as a timeshare, but never would i buy anything from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. It's companies like this one who give vacation clubs and timeshares a bad name.
Many people complain about how timeshares and / or vacation clubs rip you off and don't work, but if you know how to use them properly, they definitely work. My husband and i, along with our family, have vacationed all over the place, including going to different countries, and i can honestly say that we would have never been able to go and stay in 2 or 3 bedroom suites if we didn't have our timeshare or vacation club membership. It's been great being able to travel and stay in luxury, but with am resorts / unlimited vacation club, to pay even $5, 000 upfront just for a 25% discount is crazy. They also use rci, the same exchange company we use, but to exchange my time to go someplace different, we pay $200. 00 and unlimited vacation club charges $549. 00 to make the exact same exchange! They rip you off in every which way they can and have no problem doing so. They don't have the consumers best interest in mind, only how much money the company will make.
The resorts that am resorts / unlimited vacation clubs have are absolutely beautiful, but to pay that kind of money to get only a 25% discount is ridiculous. If you do decide to join the club and find you have a problem, forget about it, you're on your own.
For the first time in my many years of being in the vacation industry, i had some problems with discrimination and defamation of character and i tried to resolve these problems by trying to contact the ceo of am resorts / unlimited vacation club, alejandro zozaya gorostiza, and after numerous emails and calls, i received no response at all from her. I also emailed numerous times with absolutely no response to the executive vice president, gonzalo del peon, the vice president of sales and marketing, collette baruth, and the senior director of sales, matthew mullen. These people in this company didn't even have the courtesy to respond to any of my emails just to see what was happening at the unlimited vacation club. It has been 2 weeks with no response from anyone. If they can't respond back to the people who make them money, do you really think they will respond back to you if you need some help? No, no and no!
There are so many timeshare and vacation clubs out there that have what am resorts / unlimited vacation club does not have like integrity, professionalism, compassion, and honesty. Do your research about the company before you ever give any company your hard earned money. If you go on a presentation and they say '' this offer is good for today only'' they are lying. You can go back anytime and receive the exact same package they offered you. They do that because they want to earn your business that day and for no other reason. This applies to both timeshares and vacation clubs. Even if they have you sign a paper stating you can not come back the next day, or any other day, and receive any of the first visit incentives, you can. Those papers are all bogus! They try and tell you it's a legal document and it is not.
So my advice to all of you is to stay clear from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. They are filled with empty promises and all they want is your money for purchasing ''air'' so they get a paycheck that week. Trust me, i worked there, but only for a few days. I quit after i saw how they were scamming the consumers.
Best of luck to everyone and happy vacationing:)

Worst timeshare ever! Member for over 10 years. They have only raised fees and over promised from very beginning. They are now discriminating with added parking fees that we/owners have already paid for through annual fees if we don’t use the week ourself. The board is brainless! If you buy expect annual increases to balloon!
I have had a BAD experience with ULifestyle, as we have travel points, but apparently, there are all kinds of stipulations that they do not tell you when you sign your contract with them. We have cruise points, but can only use them in OFF season? No one told us this, the is just not good customer service. But as I see from these reviews, that is not important to UVC or ULifestyle.
I'm really surprised at all these comments about UVC. This is my second membership with them and I have not really experienced these issues everyone is complaining about. I'm convinced most of these people complaining must not have read their contract, or asked questions up front...both of which I did. One person said you get a 25 percent discount ...ok that's what a membership is, correct? It gives you access to certain locations and services. Everytime and I mean EVERYTIME I've booked vacations, I would first log on to expedia, trip advisor, and other travel websites etc to see if those packages are cheaper and I'm telling you it's not! I challenge anyone at anytime to show me a package that's cheaper that they offer. I always save 500 to 1000 dollars by booking through UVC and if you take 2 or 3 vacations each year, the program pays for itself..in addition, when I check in, I get a free upgraded room as long as the rooms are available, so I can get an upgrade for a room with a tropical view to an ocean view or ocean front for the same price...you're not getting that on expedia, or travelocity! Yes I don't care for the sales tactics, but it's sales...nothing unusual about that...their job is to sell.
I feel that we have used and continue to use our UVC membership. I was notified one time of a new resort opening and they were offering special room prices for members. On that ONE vacation I saved 5000 dollars for my stay because I was able to get the penthouse suite with full sized pool and hot tub on my balcony and my room was 2250 Sq ft.
If I was not a member this would have been impossible. That saving alone is huge. Not to mention I always use Amstar transportation to and from airport and they are super affordable.
I only used my RCI one time and its really not worth it-- I do however have 300 weeks if I every change my mind.. Might need to gift those out..lol
But as a member we do feel like they treat us better and always resolve any issue quickly for us. Where before we became members we have stayed at other resorts and they just treated us like "oh well we dont care if you are unhappy, you are one in a million". So being a member of UVC does have its perks there.
We still traveled during covid and we went to Mexico. I wont mention the resort we went to because UVC made things right by offering us another vacation at a later time as a way of saying sorry for any of the minor inconviences we went through.
So for me and my family we love them.
Only down side is that they always want us to do a "Information meeting update" on our vacations and most of the time we say no as when I am on vacation I DO NOT want to discuss business.
But other than that we are happy little money saving vacationers!
We have had a nightmare of an experience with UVC from the start. I have to admit my wife was correct that this was a scam from the start. I was much too trusting in the salesmen when we signed this contract. We paid $4,000 primarily for a “free week” vacation at the end of 2019. After, we joined, we found out that we could not use the free week until the contract was paid off. After that time, we tried to schedule the vacation on multiple occasions to no avail. There was never any availability at any of the desirable resorts. We also were unable to travel with our whole family of 5 and stay in the same room because all accommodations are limited to 4 people per room. After giving up on a family vacation, my wife and I tried to schedule our “free week” only to find out that they had expired it. We basically had 1 year out of a 5 year membership to schedule our “free week”. This was the only value we were hoping to extract from this club. So we’re left with a $4,000 non- tax deductible gift to a scam company.
The customer service is only there to get your blood pressure up and enjoy the misery the company deals you. I would never recommend this company or club to anyone. We got Zero value for $4,000.
HI
I am from Illinois and would be very interested in supporting a class action lawsuit. I was sold a product/service under false pretense, I was told the "free week: was available for immediate use and would waive the black out dates in exchange for singing up with them. Long story short, I just got off the line with Fabiola Enriquez Fenriquez@unlimitedvc.com from the member quality assurance department and she indeed gloated about being protected by the laws of Panama for a company doing business in Mexico and owned by Hyatt which holds head quarters in Chicago. She referred me to her legal team as she claimed she didn't have a superior or manager above her. Arbitrationmanager@unlimitedvc.com. I was told to be released from the contract they would need 50% of the value of the contract to be released. So imagine if you fell for their 100k, 50k, 25k, package, then you would owe them 50% of those amounts. These people scam you into buying something that is not true and then charge you extra just to be released. When you call them out on their unethical practices and lies they get very defensive and threaten you with credit agencies going after you credit.
If any one does have an active lawsuit or in the works of creating one I would like to speak to you as this practice will continue until someone does anything about it. I do have her on recording specifically saying that they did offer the free week before but then took it away as people caught on to their games.

Misleading claims, we were told preferred access is included for 5 weeks. Now when booking, we had to pay a premium for Prefered level
I paid over 1,800 in Cancun at one of these presentations. After reading the reviews and trying to book a trip I am disgusted that I fell for this scam. I was told I couldn’t get out of the contract and would have to pay 50% of 20, 000. Is this contract even legal… please provide any advice or help .
I've been trying to cancel our membership since last year. They said we have to wait. Now a year later they are giving us the run around. I've called and called and keep getting the runaround. This has already been paid 💯 We're the ones losing money! This company is false! I want my membership cancelled! We bought it on Dec.8, 2015.
Was told it was possible to sell our membership or buy someone’s else’s. But there is no way explaining how to do this or anyone to contact to explain how.

I just came back from cancun and sorry to say but they persuaded my wife to get a 10 yrs. packet. As in your case we signed lots of papers that I am sure nobody really reviews until one gets home and the alcohol and exaggeration of benefits has faded. I have been reading it but can't find anywhere our right to cancel. However, I found a section a where they have 30 days to reject. The whole contract is one sided. For instance you can only sue in Dominican Republic. Strangely enough in other section it says that you can not taken them to court. You are only allowed to use a mediator.
hello,
i am in the same boat did you fix this ?
my email address is MYOB66@msn.com if you can email me maybe we can get together and get our money back >
Joann
I got out of it.
The bank denied the provisional credit, however, after a few more emails to the company, they decided to give in and sent me back my full deposit. It took over 5 months from start to finish...glad it was over. I will never do that again!
Did you get it resolved?
I am wondering if you have since figured this out. Were you able to get back your money in full? I hope so! Please help if you have advice. Thanks!
