Ed Detweiler sold my house in sept 2024. He saw I came into a large amount of money and approached me and my boyfriend about investing in his personal business. Trusting him (he sold two houses for me) we naively did. We have a promissory note saying it would be paid back no later than October 2024. It is October 2025, he has not paid back, he has shown personal loan documents of others to us stating we would get that money from their loan, he has lied and been extremely rude when I have questioned him and continue to ask where the money is. I believe he has done this to others, I believe he is using others loan documents to buy time in paying back a debt that is tens of thousands of dollars. We are not rich, and he insured in the beginning what is happening now would not happen. I would hate for anyone else to experience this sort of scam and be treated the way he has treated me. He was always kind when selling houses which is why I thought we could trust him. I have seen an entirely different Ed throughout this business deal gone bad. I believe he took advantage of a client who trusted him for his personal gain. I think the personal loan documents of others that have been shared with us to buy time is a breach of confidentiality and worry he may continue to do this to others. Through legal action we hope to get our large amount of money back, but it is disappointing and unfortunate itis taking that to get what is ours. It is unprofessional for anyone to use their client for personal gain and then to treat them with the utmost disrespect when we have to constantly ask where our money is. Someone in his profession and position should not be approaching clients regarding investments with money from a house he helped sell. We made the mistake of trusting someone who seemed trustworthy and are learning a hard lesson. I hope nobody has to deal with this again and I hope the people whose confidentiality he has breached won't have to deal with any consequences because of Ed's breach of contracts.
Recommendation: Pay attention...he acts one way and is another. He took money he agreed to pay back ina promissory note and has not. He breacges contracts.
