For years I have been a good bank customer. I made regular deposits from various jobs I've held, I've paid utilities and rent and credit cards on time, and I have budgeted my money wisely. Last year I hit a low point in my career and was forced to resign from my position as a school teacher. Since then I've had to relocate my entire life and survive without a job for 6 months. During this time I set up an account with Citizens Bank, which I had used previously before moving to New York City. I have since found a low-paying hourly job at a restaurant, as it is all I have been able to secure-- despite the fact that I have a bachelor's and a master's degree from distinguished universities. Meanwhile I have been suffering from clinical depression and anxiety, both of which make it difficult for me to function in day-to-day life, let alone with managing finances. Top this off with hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loan debt, and you have a picture of a broken man at age 25. So when Citizens Bank decides to put me in double jeopardy by hitting me with multiple overdraft fees, it's clear that I will never be able to get out of the hole I'm in. I can't take cash from ATM's now (my balance is negative 400 dollars), I can't use my debit card, and I can't apply for other cards or banks because my credit score has suffered. I am pretty much doomed now thanks to Citizens Bank. I am an emotionally unstable person and I don't know what I'm going to do. I've already borrowed more money from my family than I should have to at this age and with my background, but somehow nothing is working out for me. I'm a hard worker and I try to do what's right, but Citizens Bank doesn't care. They have a policy to enforce. Forget the fact that the country has been in a recession for the last two years. As long as they're making profits, what do they care about whether or not hard-working Americans can afford to eat and pay basic living expenses. I AM WARNING EVERYONE IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CITIZENS BANK. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REMORSE ABOUT IT. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO START ACCOUNTS WITH CITIZENS BANK, AND IF THEY ALREADY HAVE ACCOUNTS, TELL THEM TO CLOSE THESE ACCOUNTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CITIZENS BANK IS KILLING AMERICA.
