I've been banking with Chartway longer than I honestly should have. The biggest thing I am constantly frustrated over is the fees. Specifically the Overdraft Fees. I know it is easy to hear complaints dealing with fees to assume that I am just bad with money, or constantly overspending, but I promise that I am not. I am very specific with what I spend my money on, when, and how much each transaction is. I typically have to write it out and math it out on paper before I deposit my check so I know where everything is going, simply because with this bank, you have to. They don't accurately update what is pending, what has already been charged and what your available vs actual are in your account.

This last experience really was the straw that broke the camels back, and I will most likely be closing my account with them. I was extremely sick for a few days, and I wasn't able to write down my charges like I normally do. When I was feeling a bit better, I went back and did the math on the both posted and pending charges that were on my account, and the everything seemed to be updated correctly at that time. I went a day or two without spending anything, knowing how much I had left over and when I went to buy lunch one evening I see that I am now negative over a hundred dollars? of course I went back and checked the statements, and I see that I am indeed over a hundred due to THREE overcharge fees, and a different fee that wasn't on my card before when I last checked it. Now, I did understand that I made the charge, but then why was it not showing up under pending? Why did my bank not decline it? I had set it up so that it would decline overcharges. Why was I charged Three times over one overcharge? When I call the bank to get it sorted and have them explain these things to me, they basically act like I am stupid for not keeping track of my money, or that I am stupid for not realizing how much money I have in my account. It is incredibly frustrating because what is the point of even using my online banking since it is never correct. Oh by the way, the charge that went over my limit, was a charge that I had made the same day I deposited my check over a week ago. I bought something online, and I literally received the item before it was updated in my statement. You cannot tell me that the merchant was just late on sending the payment, why would they send me a package that I had not paid for? It it all almost feels intentional on their behalf at this point.

Desired outcome: I would like for them to fix their online system to be more accurate, but I will settle for a refund of those fees.
