Cato review: employment and customer service

To whom it may concern:

I am very displeased with the Cato store in Franklinton, Louisiana #190. I used to be an employee however, I turned in my two weeks notice because I found another job due to the lack of proper store management. Employees get a 20% discount so I put up a layaway on November 8, 2019 and my last day was November 9, 2019. The issue is that I was not told I had to get my layaway out before my official last day of work. The sales associate ringing me up didn't know that either. I went back to the store on November 24, 2019 to pay my layaway out and get my price adjustment, if there was one. Come to find out there was. This is when I found out about the rule of me having to get my layaway out before my official last day. This made me only get a price adjustment for $6.38 when it should have been around $15. I am also very upset about the way the store manager ran the store while I worked there. I worked as a sales associate and was very quickly offered a 3rd assistant management position before I had even completed my 60 day review as a sales associate. Not to mention I was never told about how the mannequins on the walls and the jewelry and shoes were to follow a pyramid shape basically going from tallest to smallest when changing them according to the planogram until it came time to get our store ready for a possible corporate visit in October. No one follows the policy of vacuuming the store every night and if so it's only spot vacuumed and the phone in the locker policy is not enforced. Something else that made me extremely upset was that the store manager was constantly asking the employees to put in money out of our own pocket to do "drawings" with in order to meet the LY and BUDGET numbers. I've been done very wrong and expect something to be done about it. I will never advise anyone to work for the Cato company and I will advise everyone to take their clothes shopping elsewhere.
