Your service is very bad
I am an attorney at law of the supreme court of Sri Lanka.. Home delivery that is not working properly in Naiwela and Veyangoda food city express. When contacting those outlet from 8.00 am to also a recording is playing as dear customer today order fullfilled and appolagize and instructing to try tomorrow. This is happend yesterday. Loyalty member?
Poor customer service (ganemulla foodcity)
Yesterday I ordered groceries from Cargills Foodcity Ganemulla (Ganemulla Town), Sri Lanka through a phone call. I'm also live in near Ganemulla area. In the evening two people came to deliver the groceries and they came by a green colour threewheel. (They also told they went to Batuwatta area also, dont know its true or not) And they talked us very unpleasant and very rude way to us. Specially the threewheel driver. And other guy also talked very high tone and very unpleasant way telling that "Oyala ikmnta oya tika gannako apita parakku wela". When we asked "Methana okkoma badu thiynwa neda" Then the threewheel driver replied "Oya illuwe monawada kyla apita adala naa.. Ehen kiyapu tika thama oya thiyenne"He told it very unpleasant and rude way & I felt so uncomfortable it that situation. As a daily customer of ganemulla foodcity I never expected such a poor and unpleasant customer service from reputed company like Cargills Foodcity. I feel very disappointed right now and never expected cargills foodcity treat their customers like this. This is my first complain against a company and I dont like to complain about this again. I hope you will take a necessary action about this and also please don't do this to another customer again. Thank you.
Terrible customer service and overcharged me
The small express foodcity near the Fairmount Oasis apartments in Rajagiriya. Whenever I visit the clerks are not bothered at all about the customers they are having chats in their corners, sometimes not even attending the cash register.
To be fair their is a good old man who opens the door, he is always alert and willing to help.
Today I was in a rush get some groceries. I paid the bill and left. Later I noticed that they charged me an extra Rs1000. This is very negligent, the lethargic looking man had a black mask on, and was wearing a regular shirt, not a food City branded uniform.

Misinformation and unfair service
Today I went to the Badulla branch and bought several items valued 7000.00. I searched for hand wash liquids and racks were empty. Then someone came and asked from someone in the staff and the staff guy brought 2 liquid packets from stores. I asked the same guy and he said that was the last 2. However the guy who bought items returned those to racks for some reason. So I bought those 2. Then I inquired this from the cashier. She said they are out of stocks and those must be booked yesterday and that was the last 2. When I came out I saw another guy was given same hand wash. So I think they hide the items and give those to their friend.
Pharmacy
I went to Weligampitiya Fiod City Pharmacy today - there was nobody and when I asked the Asst Manager, he went around and cane back to me and said that the Pharmacy is closed as the Pharmacist is on leave - then I went to Jaela Food City Pharmacy - the Pharmacist took my requirement and gave me a chit and said to make the payment to the Cashier and produce the receipt to collect the medicine from him - upon making the payment, I went to collect my medicine but to my astonishment, he was missing and when I checked with a few people working there, I was informed that he had gone to the Bank - I had to hang around for a while but the Pharmacist was missing - I had to get my money refunded as nobody knew what to do including the Manager - the service at Food City is utterly horrible
Overall service
This food city doesn't display the discount detials infront of each product. They display it outside the entrance only, so a custemer should again come outside to see the details on the discounted products.this seems to be done purposefully, as most of the discounted products are not available in racks. If we specially request for such products, then only they bring it from the stores. (Eg: my choice mackaral).
Further, so many times they have cheated us in billing, too . They never consider the cargills cards/discounts in billing, unless we specifically emphasis such. We are frequently visiting so many cargills outlets in this area (kadawatha, kiribathgoda, etc), but we faced above difficulties only in Ranmuthugala outlet. Please take action to improve the level of this outlet, too.
I want to complain about manager of the cargills food city galle katugoda branch
Today me and my husbond went to your outlet situated on galle katugoda branch.my husbond got woonded when he is collecting his vegetables from the shelves as it is very insecure and no any pastic to cover the blade atleast.the pharmasisit informed to the manager when we got some cream there and we had to paid even it was their careless, and the manager did not ask any word from us and atleast he didn't hear to our complain and no action taken.
This is very unpleasant eperience.and we will surely spread this news for the sake of take care of other customers as if it was a kid then what would it be as they react like this.

Complaining regarding the disgusting behavior of the manager of Saranankara branch:
The manager of the said branch ( the person who is in casual wear- saree) Ill treated and insulted us when we requested to exchange the product. we were badly disappointed towards her(she threw the product aside in the presence of us) and hereinafter we are not going to purchase anything from cargills food city and we are very much impressed of the service provided by 'Keels super.'
Hope you will do the needful irrespective of cast and creed.

Just now I came to mount Lavinia cargils food city meat section. Here is one wonderful staff her name is U.A. Damayanthi. She is very helpful and have very good attitude. Very happy to see like this staff in Sri Lankan super markets . Highly recommended.
We went to purchase Beruwala Cargill food city our bill around rs 7000/-I give my ntb Amex to the cashier cashier said Amex not taking because the mechine is in repair this is not first time l heard this there are so many time they said the same reason I don’t know what is really going on there . So I had no option other than leaving all goods there and went to Keells across the road to repurchase my gooo.please take the measures to fix your Amex card machine.
Cashiers disgusting behaviour

Please teach your employees to how to treat customers. This is the 2nd time I'm complaining about the same cashier. Cargills food City majestic city. As appears in my bill name is raj.
He took spit into fingers and used those self generated liquid to took polyethylene bags to pack my goods. I felt very uncomfortable and asked for separate bags. He realized why I asked for separate bags and rudely through bags at me to pack my goods by my self
As I have seen many foreigners shop in mc food City. Mc Cargills staff don't have that personality to serve customers.

Above details as appears in my bill. I was surprised by seen how this mc cargills food City cashier treated the customer in front of me. That person only purchased a small packet of biscuit and gave 500. This cashier rudely asked for change and when that person unable to provide changes cashier treated him disrespectful way. Throw the balance cash at him. Didn't bothered to give him a bag. Bill fell off and didn't bothered to hand it over
I recently started to visit this MC food City and cashiers don't excellent in customer service. Sometimes they speaks personally each others while customers in Que and don't care about to smile or commit to what they do.
I'm a loyal customer and I really enjoying leisurely buying things at cargills and I felt I should inform this for future benefit.

This is to bring to your notice that Yesterday 25th September 2019 i went to Cargills Malabe (Near The Bust Stand Malabe) and i brought a bottle of Old Arrack which is Rs.1500.00, before i gave the Cargills Loyality card he has billed,
01) He has not asked the Loyality Card
02) He dint wait till i take the card from my Purse
03) I asked him to Swap the Cargils card, he simply said that for the Liquor it is Not Valid, and i said that am purchasing liquor last so many month and am using the same card
04) He simply said now i cannot do any thing can i pay you Rs.1.50 instead of swap the card which is irritating to me and i was never expecting this kind of an answer from the counter staff, if they are not suppose to swap the cargills card for the Liquer why he is trying to pay Rs.1.50 for me, also it was very much disrespectful way he treated me at the counter.
Further more i have been a loyal customer to the cargills you may go through all past record as well, and also am so much mentally disturbed this guy was trying to pay me Rs.1.50 over the counter, this guy was treated me in a very bad manner which i cannot write on this email,
Am requesting Cargills team to look in this matter urgently and get back to me what is the answer he is giving on the above statement, i also called the manager unfortunately he was not available and i gave my number to the girl who answered the phone, also after some time the same guy was called several time and apologized, which is not exceptable,

Staff at cashier
This incident happened at the Copetty Marine Drive Cargills Food City around 8.15am on 26/09/2019.
The item I bought was only Rs 50/- and I gave Rs. 1000/- as I had no change. The lady in the cashier named ‘Kumari' said another staff member to bring change and said "Giving Rs. 1000 to buy a Rs. 50 item !" in front of me without any respect to customers. It was very unpleasant especially in a morning.
I always go to food city and this is nothing wrong with the Company. It's just the attitude of the staff which gives a bad impression to the company. Since it's not possible to change personalities and characteristics of individuals, you may advise them to treat the customers well for the sake of their job because if they are not up to that standard I do not think they deserve such a job..
About closing hours of outlet
Today (09.09.2019) I went to buy some urgent things for Tomorrow morning to Cargill Food City Ragama. I went there because the closing time in Google says it's 11.00 p.m. It was 10.34 p. m when I got there. Security Guy was closing the outlet and when I asked him what was the closing time, he said it's 10.15 p.m. I said it's 11.00 and he kept on closing. If it's 10.15 please do update on every possible information source without wasting our time.
Food City:- No minimum order and same-day pickup in as little as 3 hours ... Food City Premium Whole Boneless Ham. Select a store ... expires 02/14/2022. Save $0.50.
Probably best to call a business first to verify operating hours. Often, websites will have them wrong.
Today 18 November 2020 by 5.30pm I went to Food City Manipay, Jaffna branch to purchase of White Sugar. After collecting the 1kg sugar from salesman, I went to the cashier counter to pay cash. Cashier told me that you have to purchase minimum for 500/= Rupees. I am not able to pay for more items & told her to take money for sugar only. There is no instructions at the entrance notice board about purchse of minimum 500 Rupees. Cashier told me someone may be senior person informed me about the minimum purchase of Rupees 500/= information. I told to cashier that I came here to purchase for sugar only . Anyway she received cashrupees 85/= from me for sugar only. Customer decides to buy the items .(not the cashier)

I Have bought a maliban faluda marie biscuit packet today (2019.09.09) from thimbirigasyaya cargills foodcity, Unfortunately I couldnt to watch expired date on that time.After I came home and opened the packet and gave some biscuits to kids.There were complain to me that the taste was sticky.After I watched the expire date.It was expired, the date was 2019.07.09. I know that was a my mistake that I have to look the expire date.
I Have bought a maliban faluda marie biscuit packet today (2019.09.09) from Thimbirigasyaya cargills foodcity, Unfortunately I couldnt to watch expire date on that time.After I came home and opened the packet and gave some biscuits to kids.There were complained to me that the biscuit was sticky .After I watched the expire date.It was expired, the date was 2019.07.09. I know that was a my mistake that I have to look the expire date.

There is an employee by the name of Kris' that I've complained about several times. Just a few weeks ago - she was extremely rude - when standing at the self-checkout needing assistance. Whoever eas supposed to be at that station had disappeared for over 15/ minutes.. I saw kris walk back and ask her would she find someone, or help me - she said I am not working in this dept and it's not my job.. I asked her to find someone and she replied and told me she is busy that I'll have to wait and rolled her eyes and puffed at me like she was being annoyed - mind you! She wasn't waiting on anyone at the time - I told her that I have been standing there for 15/ minutes and she said that's not her fault - and she walked off shaking her head and saying things under her breath. I complained about her to store mgr and they said they would handle it - ... This was my second complaint about her being rude - and talking to me like 'I'm annoying her.. Today she - passed me when entering the store and rolled her eyes at me again and shaking her head - in a very obvious way! This happened today at 6:30 pm entering the store - it's on the cameras clearly -/ I made another complaint with a male and female customer service agent and they said they would speak to the manager and talk with her... She doesn't like me and it's obvious - and I spend over / 500. - 600. Dollars a month in this particular food city -.. I can't believe this Kris is allowed to treat customers this way - I want her to be dealt with immediately or this will be my last trip to that store or any food city.. The managers at that store must be friends with her because my complaints are going - unattended. .. There is way more but to much to type - I will be calling the regional office Monday or Tuesday to discuss this matter further
Kotmale curd
I bought this curd today at your outlet and the curd was spoiled this isnt the first time i received such low quality products from this outlet its literary the fifth time this happened not only this product but some more products too I've complained about this outlet before too the poor service of this outlet makes us not go there again we literary go there everyday if this continues i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
Poor quality promotion
My little one took meat sausage pack 500g packed with free lunch box. He was so liked to have the lunch box.
Come home and opened the product and surprisingly Brocken hingers are covered with top sticker rapping.
Why you as such a big organization do this level of cheap quality products to make customers misled and buy.
Can not accept at all from you.
Rudeness of employees and not knowing about their own promotions
I went to kalutara cargills food city with my mother and there they've displayed a promotion.as one of their staff said that it's enough to buy three out of 8 or something to be eligible, so after fetching those stuff once we went to the counter, the lady there said that we have to buy all the items and the way she said those was really rude, how she did talk to us throughout the whole transaction was really rude. Please try to train your employees how to be nice to a customer. I would never go to a cargills food city every again. Shape on you!

Today i went to malabe food city to buy some buiscuts and there was a poster among the kist spicy onion buiscuts which says that it's 30% off until 31st july (original price- 100rs) so i took the buiscut and went to pay the bill.. the girl at the counter scanned the barcode and asked me to pay the bill then when i paid 70rs (after dedicting the discount) she asked me to pay hundred as the promotion was only for the buyers who boughts goods more than 1000rs.. it was a soo annoying and i just paid the bill to not to get humiliated.. this things keep happening in several food cities.. they give customers deceiving promotions and earn money.. pleaae stop these thieves who steal from public in the daylight.. i sware there wasn't any note in the promotoon that said we have to buy goods more than 1000rs to enjoy the promotion.. this is a trick they use to fool people..
Yesterday I go to Norris canel (Colombo 10) cargills food city and bring some items. I paid LKR. But it's cashier didn't give me balance correctly.. I asked her about it. She need to given me 4 rs.. but she didn't give it or didn't transfer point cards or anything..I m very disappointed this customer service
I am a long time customer of Cargills food city Kotikawatta.
kottikawatta Cargills food city near it is my house. Threatening to take my car I don't have a car. I have seen staff scolding children very badly. Such a bad experience. Angry with the manger.
The former manager was great.
Display price was RS. 280.00 per 1 Kg. Pasted sticker price was Rs. 246.50 per 1 Kg. Billing price was Rs. 380.00 per 1 Kg. The lady in the POS said the price is displayed related yesterday. I was disappointed after the taking the bill. I have attached pictures below. Please do not happen for this to another customer.

it is really unpleasant follwing customers when they buying.Either they should well trained on judging customers only by looking their apperance.Keep that standarad of providing customer buying support , not like street shops. You might neglect this by thinking just only one customer, but you will decrease your customer rention base.
