Shoppers Drug Mart - poor customer service

I just had an incident tonight with Shoppers Drug Mart. I have been dealing with the Shoppers Drug Mart at Danforth and Victoria Park (3003 Danforth Avenue, Shoppers World) for many years. I have filled almost all my prescriptions at the pharmacy there except for one recently.

I ran out of the medication which is crucial that I have every day. This Shoppers is near my house and that is why I usually fill the script there. I called to ask if they would sell me 4 days of pills till I go see the doctor to get a renewal. The pharmacist on duty, Jennifer Judges, says that since I hadn't filled the same prescription there for the past six months, that she could not give me an emergency ration. I told her that they are my usual store and that I filled the script across the city near my office just once because I was heading out of town and it was the most convenient that time only. She says that I should fill it at the other Shoppers. I tell her that it is across town, that I don't have a car right now, and I really need her to give me a small ration. I mention that she can call the other store to confirm that in fact I had the prescription filled by a Shoppers recently. She refuses.

I plan to lodge a complaint with the owner of the store as well as head office.

I want to file a complaint to an employee named "Josephine" who's a cashier at shoppers drug mart in north road, Burnaby location. She's very rude to customer. They're about to close but one employee let me in.. I said I'm just getting one thing. She said it's ok, there's 15 minutes more.. But the Josephine is too anxious to go home.. So she's so rude to me. I think she needs to learn more about customer service.

Shoppers Drug Mart, Beverly location, Edmonton, Alberta.
This location has the most ignorant and rudest staff I have seen in a long time.
The women at the till are very rude and dismissive if you ask for assistance. The security borders on harassment. This location needs to have a major overhaul of employees.

Was called from shoppers corp advising that we were part of a new customer service program and that they noticed that my perscription was coming due and had no more refills. They asked if I would like them to fax doctors office to have my prescription renewed. I replied that would be nice as it would save a call to the office. No problem they said but it would be 10$ for them to fax the request. Our local store had done this in the past no issues and no fees. I felt like give us 10$ and we will give customer service. We have had no issue with our local store who have always been excellent to deal with. I did raise the issue at local store and advised this was a corporate program and that the would raise the issue their local rep. I called customer service and they said call would not have been from corporate however when we asked the caller confirmed it was corporate. Left name and number with corporate and will see if anything comes of it, but not holding out hope it will maybe look at another drugstore.

You were correct and you know it when asking for the prescription to be confirmed. Is it possible that once again Shoppers Drug Mart led a bad example about what the focus is? Not the customer needing assistance especially when it comes to health.
I can't be possitive about this, but I believe that a full prescription can be transfered from one store to another anywhere to be filled. Of course the store filling the prescription is the atore getting the financial credit for doing so, and the other store looses the money for the prescription.
If the store owner didn't own both stores for the financial gain, or didn't want to encourage transfer of prescription to other stores in taking business away a store...is the most unethical behavior in health care.
If a Doctor has prescribed medication for the health benefit of a human being and the Pharmacist isn't concerned with making sure the patient (your more than a customer when it comes to prescription) is getting the health benefit intended by a genuine health practioner, I cant think of anything more unethical than that. It is almost criminal it is so inhuman.

I would like to mention to all those tourists who visit Montreal about a Shoppers Drug Mart ( PharmaPrix in Quebec) in my neighbourhood where the service is consistently poor. It is the Ste. Catherine Ste /Saint Alexandre St. location across from the H&M store and the St. James Cathedral. The staff are consistently rude and the drug store pharmacist is the rudest and refuses to speak to customers in English unless you press her too. I have seen instances when they have been rude to other customers while shopping the store. Compared to other Shoppers stores, it is messy with staff constantly blocking aisles to stock shelves without so much as an apology to customers. Can't they do this during store closing hours? I have taken to shopping the much nicer Shoppers Drug Mart at Place Ville Marie which is a bit more distant from my home but the staff and conditions of the store are much more pleasant overall. In any case, if you want a pleasant customer service experience, shop at this store and not the one on Ste. Catherine and Saint Alexandre.

I received a delivery notice from Canada Post to pick up a letter from the post office after a delivery attempt. I went into the post office at Shoppers Drug Mart as directed by the card indicating that it could be picked up after 1 pm the next day. After waiting in line I was told by the clerk that it was not there because Canada Post does not make a drop off to their post office on Friday. She said that I would have to return on Monday to pick it up. I clarified what she said to me and I commented that it was difficult to make out the information on the notice. The other clerk as I was walking away made a comment to the effect: "They never have they never will" and then they both snickered. When I got home I called the store back and asked them who I should make a complaint to about the inaccurate information on the card. She directed me to Canada Post and I also mentioned to her that I didn't appreciate the sarcastic comment that the other clerk made while I walked away. Not only did she not apologize all she did was say ok - this is not the first time I have received poor service and attitude at the post office. On a previous occasion I received an abrupt attitude from the same younger clerk. It almost makes me think that there is some form of racism going on as I am of Asian descent and I don't hear her speaking or interacting with other customers (who are white) the same way. Also the complaint process with Shoppers seems rather poor - are they really concerned about how customers feel or think?

I'm not really sure what she did that was so rude though? she said you owe her 10 bucks and that said she wasn't being rude when you accused her of it? And she gave you what you perceived to be dirty looks lol...I don't think that's a reason to ### to head office. Like this poor lady probably depends on her job to get by and you want to ruin her life lol.
