This is notification of my intent to make an official complaint today regarding the ongoing unresolved issue to repair an external fault to make repairs to enable my Broadband to return to the speed prior to April 10th 2026.I am making a complaint with Ofcom today.
I have made numerous contacts with Sky, via telephone, online and email explaining the issue of initially no Broadband service to continual very low speed.
Prior to 10th April, my Broadband speed was 10Mb later on that day I had no Wi-Fi connection (I could see from my property engineers working on wires attached to telegraph poles, also on driving away from my property, an engineer working at a junction on the ground) I contacted Sky who arranged for an engineer to visit on the 15th of April who checked the internal connections who advised me it was an external fault, which he would report.
I heard nothing from anyone and made contact with Sky customer services on 24th April, informing the person an engineer was supposed to be contacted to fix the repair, and I had not been updated of when this was to be.
The customer service advised me she had booked an engineer to fix the fault on 28th April. Nothing changed the speed remained very poor.
I contacted Sky via telephone on 22nd May and July 8th for an update as well as completing online chats and complaints emails during this period.
On July 27th, 2026, I spoke with customer service again who suggested trying a new hub to see if this resolved the issue even though I explained it’s an external not internal fault. The new Hub arrived and I set it up as advised which made no difference to the speed! Again, I contacted customer service on July 30th who have booked another engineer appointment.
My Broadband speed appears to fluctuate from 2.4Mb and 5Mb (although 5Mb was for a few days although on average is around 3.5Mb) and today is 3.8Mb. At, no point has anyone from Sky or BT contacted me to let me know what the delay is in repairing the external fault.
Online BT's only advice is to contact my service provider.
Sky's responding email states as the repair has not been fixed, I have an option of cancelling my contract with them at no cost to me, however if it's an external fault the issue would be the same for another service provider so that is an inappropriate comment from Sky.
The fault is very frustrating as I have a family member who works from home and relies on a sufficient speed to download items. Also, we are unable to use multiple devices as it causes issues, now when we are all expected to be using smart technology, I would have expected a much earlier resolution to repair the fault.
Kind regards
Pauline Roseveare
